Vibrant Owl
This stunning card by Jane was created with our NIGHT OWL stamp set.
[Tutorial] Make a circle easel card base using a 14cm circle die (there are lots of guides to doing this on line).
Dampen mixed media card with a mist of water, and one at a time add the spray inks. Jane used: cracked pistachio, salvaged patina and mermaid lagoon Tim Holtz spray stains. Allow the inks to move and blend. When you are happy with the mix dry or heat dry.
Die cut two 12.5 cm circles from this card, and add wilted violet distress ink around the edges.
Onto one of the inky circles stamp some branches using Versafine Clair green oasis ink. Use first and second generation stamping to give some depth. Stamp the moon in salvaged patina ink and add sparkle using a glitter pen. Stamp the owl in place allowing the wings to overhang, and then stamp a second owl onto white card and clear emboss it. Cut out the white card owl and colour [Jane used zig real brush pens]. Adhere the cut out owl on top of the owl stamped on the circle background. Add Glossy accents to the eyes and beak and allow to dry.
Randomly repeat stamp the branches as above onto the second inky circle.
Stamp the sentiment onto white card, clear emboss and cut out in a rectangle shape 3cm X 7cm. Matt onto a piece of 4cm X 8cm purple card. Add a double height of sticky fixers underneath.
Adhere the completed circles in place on the purple easel base. Stick the sentiment towards the back of the base for the card front to tuck behind.
