Music & Grunge
Michelle’s awesome mixed media card was created with our MUSIC SPEAKS stamp set, with background detail and texture made with our TRANSMISSION GLITCH background stamps and ECHOES stencil, with a sentiment from our AFFIRMATIONS set.
[Tutorial] Using mixed media card stock sized to a DL card, I blended ‘Lost Shadow’ distress oxide ink and ‘Black Soot’ distress oxide ink through the ‘Echoes’ stencil creating a gradient to the centre of the stencil. I then used the grungy music stamp with the ‘Lost Shadow’ distress oxide and distress ink over the top of the stencilling to create added texture to the background. To create a border, I stamped the sound wave stamp 3 times along the edge using Versafine – ‘Morning Mist’ & ‘Nocturne’, then next to it I stamped the guitar in Versafine ink in ‘Nocturne’. I heat embossed everything with Wow clear embossing powder.
I added colour to the sound wave with a blend of 3 Ecoline watercolour markers, then spritzed with water leaving it to dry. I then stamped the guitar a second time and heat embossed with black embossing powder, when heating I added a sprinkle of silver powder along one edge. I cut this out and used it as a template to cut 3 more times, then I glued them all together to create a 3d guitar.
From the ‘Transmission Glitch’ stamp set, I used the large glitch stamp and rubbed the Ecoline markers over the surface , stamping around the edge of the card stock. I repeated the same process with the Error Number Code stamp from the same set.
Using Craft Artist Mica Magic, I blended under the stamped image of the guitar to create a shadow, then around the edge of the card in silver/ grey / black /blue and green to create a frame for the card stock.
The sentiment is from the ‘Affirmations’ stamp set, stamped on a piece of waste card from the background using Versafine ‘Nocturne’ ink, then embossed with Wow clear embossing powder. I edged the card with Mica Magic and glued on a mat of silver Mirri. To finish, I used silver Mirri card to mat the card, then added the guitar and sentiment using glue gel. Michelle ♡
