It’s Still You.

Nicola made this stunning Anniversary card using our HEART INK stencil and one of the LOVE-ly sentiments and background images from our HAVE I TOLD YOU stamp set. [Tutorial] I made this silver anniversary card for my husband, but it would also be perfect for Valentine’s Day too. The HAVE I TOLD YOU stamp set had lots of wonderful sentiments ideal for your significant other. The first step is to tape down the HEART INK stencil onto a 15x15cm piece of card. Opaque crackle texture paste was then spread through it using a palette knife. Carefully remove the stencil and leave it and the knife to soak. Moving fairly quickly sprinkle your chosen colours of distress embossing glaze over the texture paste. Gently tap off onto a piece of paper and using a fine brush move away any excess embossing powder. Set aside and leave your dry completely. This may take a couple of hours so be patient. When dry handle carefully as the embossing powder may still be loose in places and you don’t want it to move. While the heart is drying start the background by blending distress oxide ink in one of the colours you’ve used in the heart around the edge of a piece of 19x19cm card. About a 2cm border should do. Splash with a little water and blot with paper towel to create texture. Then stamp the hearts from HAVE I TOLD YOU in various positions and complimentary colours on the border. I enhanced parts of the solid rose heart using white gel pen as it didn’t show up very much. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of coloured card the same as the background using versamark and embossed in white. This I then cut and layered repeatedly on black card to give a chunky, solid, raised effect. Then I waited… and waited… for the heart to dry. It’s cold in my house so it seemed to take ages. Eventually when I could see the crackle effect completely I carefully heat embossed it, keeping my heat tool moving as I just wanted to melt the embossing powder and didn’t want the texture paste to bubble (not that it matters, it just alters the appearance slightly). Finally I mat and layered onto a 20×20 card blank using double sided tape and glue for security and added the sentiment using foam pads. Nicola ♡
