Have I Told You Lately?

Hello! We hope you had a nice weekend. We have lots of gorgeous inspiration coming your way this week, and there’s definitely love in the air with Valentine’s day approaching! Jane is here on the blog today sharing a gorgeous romantic card featuring our fabulous Always + Forever stencil and a love-ly sentiment…

For my make today I decided to make a “Love” themed card. This design would work well not just for a Valentine card but for a card to send to someone you love.

This is what I got up to;

I sprayed a piece of A4 mixed media card  with cracked pistachio, fossilized amber, mowed lawn and candied apple distress stain sprays. When dry I cut it down to a 5 1/4″ square.

I put the Always and Forever stencil in place and blended spiced marmalade distress ink through it give a golden glowing image.

I then added a little more ink to the background.

I stamped the book stamp from the Free your Imagination set once onto inky mop up card and again on plain white card. I cut out just the top of the book on the white book.

I stamped some of the hearts from the Have I Told You set

and then one of its lovely sentiments. For a finishing touch I added a little glitter overlay pen and Glossy accents to some of the hearts.

Here is my finished card

Supplies

love | romance | sentiment stamps | anniversary | valentine | wedding

Bye for now,

Jane x

Forever Love | Grungy Rose Stamp

Hi! We are back with another gorgeous project to inspire you today! Lynda Hall has created a stunning mixed media card with our FOREVER LOVE set which includes a gorgeous grungy rose stamp, barbed wire and complementary elements…

It’s my turn to share a little Visible Inspiration today and with January drawing to a close, my thoughts have turned to cards for Valentines Day. The recently released ‘Forever Love’ set is perfect for such an occasion.

I began with a gelli print that I had previously created with the ‘Meshing Around’ stencil. A great start for some lovely texture.

I defined the circular edge to the stencil with a light application of Distress ink to add another layer.

I added some stamping with the script stamp from the ‘Scripted Streets’ stamp set, than stamped and embossed the large rose and border stamps with my stamping platform, which enabled me to line them up perfectly, then added the sentiment.

I stamped and coloured the large and small roses and fussy cut out.

Using 3d glue gel I layered them up, and added highlights with a white pen.

To finish I coloured the skulls in white, and added some black and white splatters of watered down acrylic paint.

Valentine Stamps | Pop Art Cards

Hello! With Valentine’s Day only a few weeks away, Sharon Traynor is here with some fabulous inspiration featuring our gorgeous lips stamps and some romantic sentiments..

valentine cards | Lips stamp | sentiments

Hi there. I was browsing around the internet the other day when I came across a Pop Art image and I was immediately struck by how clean the lines were, how simple the images were and how the colours were bright and what I call ‘happy’.

Well, that little piece of art got me all fired up to make a card and the first image that popped into my mind was those gorgeous, luscious lips by Visible Image. Then I grabbed a couple of their stencils and set to work.

I firstly blended a couple of backgrounds, making sure the centre of each stencil was off centre, slightly below and to the left, so that they looked ‘right’ when the lips image was added. I did stamp the lips image directly onto these panels too, so that the splatters of lipstick were not omitted, because  I wanted to fussy cut the lips.

Then I stamped and heat embossed the lips onto scrap card using distress oxide inks for the first layer of stamping, plus a super-shiny clear gloss embossing powder. I used a stamping platform because I wanted a really fantastic shine, so these were heat embossed 3 times using clear ink for the subsequent stampings. Then I fussy cutting them out.

Just look at that shine!!!!

Next I stamped and heat embossed a couple of sentiments….

…. and drew a speech bubble in pencil around the sentiments before I cut those out too. The pencil lines can easily be erased with an eraser. I edged the speech bubbles with the corresponding distress marker for the colour of the lips.

Then I just added the panels onto card blanks and layered the lips and speech bubbles onto the panels.

There are LOADS of Visible Image images that would work well with this CAS and graphic type of treatment!
