Storms May Break Its Branches | CAS Card

Hi! Thanks for coming to visit our blog today! Today’s inspiration from Sharon Traynor is a gorgeous clean and simple card featuring one of our favourite stamp sets for Autumn and Winter.: TREE OF LIFE. The sentiment in this set really resonates right now as we all face continued troubling times…

Hello there.

It’s about time that I made an Autumn themed card! Looking through my Visible Image stamps I spotted the Tree of Life set and decided to give it some Autumnal colours. This tree looks amazing in fresh, lush greens but it also looks good in the rich colours of autumn. In fact, you could use it for any season of the year!

The sentiment is superb for Autumn too as there are usually some squally showers and winds howling to strip the trees of their colourful leaves. It is such a positive sentiment; great for reminding us that there is always hope of new life and growth.

This is how I made this card:

First smoosh some ink onto a craft mat and spritz with water, then taking a piece of acetate transfer some of the ink to a panel of white card. Build up a couple of layers of ink on the panel. Let the panel dry.

Stamp the tree in brown distress oxide ink and emboss it with clear embossing powder. Now colour the leaves in with your choice of marker pens.

Stamp the sentiment into place and heat emboss with a gold powder. Use an embossing pen to colour 3 of the leaves on the tree and heat emboss those with the same gold powder.

Mat the panel onto some gold card and then add it to a card blank. The final touch was to add 3 tiny gold gems under the sentiment.

Stamps used:

Other Supplies:

Distress Oxide Inks: walnut stain, fired brick
Distress Ink: aged mahogany
Versamark clear embossing pad
Versamarke clear embossing pen
WOW! embossing powders: clear gloss, metallic gold rich
Promarker pens: yellow, amber, lipstick red, burnt orange
Gold gems
White and gold card

Thanks for stopping by and I really hope to see you again soon.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

We love this card! The tree looks fabulous over the oxides ink and the leaves look gorgeous coloured with gold embossing. Thank you Sharon ♡

Stormy Days | Tree of Life Stamp

Hello! We hope you are staying safe in these testing times and in the crazy weather some of the World is experiencing at the moment. We have had terrible storms here in the UK, with flooding and damage, which seems quite cruel in these already difficult times.

Today’s inspiration by Heather Mitchell is very fitting.. a gorgeous mixed media card featuring our tree of life stamp and the sentiment from this set ‘storms may break its branches but new leaves will always grow’ (written by me Helen!). This stamp set will be featured on our Create and Craft TV shows this Saturday, more details below.

Hey everyone

Today’s card came about by accident really.  I’d made a few backgrounds using the Visible Image stencils, air dried them and then popped away and forgot where I’d put them… but hey-presto!  Clearing up the other day I found them – hurrah!

tree of life stamp | ripples stencil | mixed media card

I can’t seem to step away from the Ripples stencil!

I’ve used Distress Oxide Sprays for the colour (Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon) and once they were dry I’ve just added a few lines of Derwent Inktense pencils around the Ripple lines.

For the tree, I’ve stamped it using Versafine Clair in Rain Forest and then heat embossed it using WOW!’s Clear Embossing powder to seal it and give it shine. The petals are coloured using Arteza brush pens, which I think are my new favourite product.

For the swirling leaves, I’ve again stamped them using the Rain Forest Versafine Clair and heat embossed them with the clear powder. After colouring with the Arteza pens, I’ve trimmed them and layered a few using foam tape.

I love the font of the sentiment… really simplistic and fits the mood of the set perfectly. Here I’ve just stamped it in black and then heat embossed with the clear powder once more.

With the leaves added, I’ve smooshed some Distress Crayons around the edge before matting onto a shimmery navy blue card and adhering to a 5×5″ card blank.

I wasn’t sure about the card when I finished it… you know how sometimes they can sit staring at you?  But I was looking at it the other day, the leaves swirling around the ripple stencil and it reminded me of the way Van Gogh used to paint his thick swirls onto so many of his paintings. Not saying for a moment it’s Van Gogh worthy, but it has made me love it!

New Leaves Will Always Grow

Hi there! We hope you are staying safe and well and coping with this very different world that we all live in at the moment. We are grateful for sunshine and being able to go for walks here in Wales, and we love to see all the signs of spring in the trees, plants and flowers. Jane Tyrrell is here today with a wonderful card featuring our ‘Tree of Life’ stamps, the sentiment in this set is very apt at this current time…

Hello
it is time for my fortnightly design team post for Visible Image. Spring is in full swing now despite the blip in temperatures over the last few days.

The blooms I have seen on my daily walks  have been stunning and these inspired both the card and the colour palette for my card today.

The stamp set I am working with today is called Tree of Life

tree of life stamp

This is what I got up to.

I used blue and pewter distress ink sprays to create a background

I cut it down to a 5 1/2 ” square and then added my stamping. I used the tree in the set as branches around the edge of my card.

I used every stamp in this lovely set.

I stamped both sizes of the leaves onto inky mop up card and cut them out.

I then stamped the leaves onto my card and paper pieced them with the leaves above. I added glossy accents to all the little circles to make them look like dew drops.

Here is my finished card. The sentiment is also so appropriate for now.

Stay safe and stay creative.

Bye for now,
Jane x

What a fantastic card! We love how you have used the foliage around the edges of your card, and that sky blue is stunning! The dew drops look beautiful too.  Thank you Jane ♡

Tree of Life Stamp | Handmade Card

Hello! So sorry we have been neglecting our blog lately.. but we are back and we have loads of gorgeous inspiration to share with you from our amazing Design Team and wonderful guest designers! Pauline Butcher is up first, to inspire you with a fabulous card featuring our Tree of Life stamps…

Hi there,

I’m sharing a new creation I’ve made using a couple of awesome ‘Visible Image’ Stamps.

tree of life stamp

The stamps I have used are:

Tree of Life

tree of life - stamp

and the sentiment from Just Breathe.

anatomy stamp - breathe

I started with some black card, on which I stamped and heat embossed the tree with Wow Fluorescent Green Embossing Powder. I then stamped and heat embossed the smaller leaf from the set, with clear embossing powder.

Using a white pencil, I scribbled the ground around the tree, and gently shaded a moon behind the tree. Using a Glitter Pen, I coloured in the tree leaves, and added touches of glitter to the other leaves.

I had a piece of card left over from a session doing the shaving foam technique, and stamped the human figure twice onto it, and fussy cut them. I then stamped two more, one on blue card and one on pink card, and again fussy cut them.

I finished it off with the sentiment, stamped and heat embossed in black powder, then added some Stickles for that bit of sparkle!

Hugs, Pauline xxxx

Wow what an awesome card Pauline! Your embossed leaves look stunning and the figures look so striking in those vibrant tones! Thank you ♡
