Love is Love | Mixed Media Face Stamps

Good Evening, we have some more gorgeous new stamps inspiration for you today. Heather Mitchell has inked up our ‘Love is Love’ set and is here to show you what she made…

Evening all,

You can’t have not seen the new Visible Image stamps that are on pre-order now… and aren’t they beauties?!  I absolutely love this Love is Love set… bang on perfect for these volatile times in which we find ourselves.

I’ve barely been able to put this stamp set down since it arrived Friday and my head is whirring away with possibilities and ideas for it.

To begin the card, I’ve added some star washi tape strips to watercolour card and gesso’d over the top to protect the tape.  After overlaying the Square Route stencil, I’ve created an ombre effect using Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean to which I’ve then lightly spritzed water over to add texture.

After using a black permanent fine liner to draw in some scribbly lines in the stencil gaps, I’ve flicked on some black indian ink to break up the blue and add extra interest.

Having already measured where the two face stamps would lay on the card, I used the sentiment for the set, Love is Love, down the centre.

The two profile stamps are just brilliant! The words on them (trust, love, eternity, friendship, loyalty, empathy, kindness etc) are so bang on trend and perfect for all types of cards and journalling and I cannot wait to journal with this set!

I’ve heat embossed the profile stamps using WOW!’s Opaque Bright White embossing powder and then used oxide ink pads (Candied Apple, Picked raspberry, Seedless preserve, Blueprint Sketch, Cracked Pistachio and Mustard Seed) to create the rainbow effect.  Once trimmed, I’ve secured them directly to the card before matting onto black card to finish.

Once again, the new stamps are on pre-order now from the online shop and are due for release on Friday June 26th… just in time for the weekend!

Angel | Face Stamps

Hello, sorry we have been neglecting our blog lately. Hopefully you follow us on Facebook so will have seen all the live demos we have been doing to keep your crafty mojo flowing. We have lots of inspiration to share with you here on the blog over the coming week, and we are kicking off with our fabulous Pauline Butcher who has some rainbow challenge inspiration featuring our face stamps…

Hi there,

I hope you are all staying well and safe.

I’ve created a card as a tribute to all the Nurses on the front line, doing an absolutely fantastic job, along with all the Doctors, and of course all the other key workers, who are working hard to keep us safe and fed, in this unprecedented time. There is a Rainbow challenge in the Visible Image Facebook Group, it would be great if you would all enter, not only to show all the NHS and key workers that we care, but to brighten up this uncertain world.

The Visible Image products I used on this card are:

I used a piece of mixed media card stock and cut it to 6″ x 8″, placed the stencil on it, and with my blending brushes and distress inks I made diagonal stripes of colour, filling the card. I took away the stencil, then cut off 2″ from the 8″ side ( for sentiments).

I stamped the face in the middle of the card, using Versafine Onyx Black ink using a stamp platform, so that I could make the image nice and dark by stamping it 3 or 4 times. I used bleach to lighten the whites of the eyes, and pens for her eye shadow. I then used pink Stickles for her lips and her eye shadow. When the Stickles was dry, I then went over the lips again with some Glossy Accents, I also added it to the eyes.

I worked on the sentiments next, using the 2″ of card I cut off the side. I stamped all three sentiments using Versafine Onyx Black, trying to get the stripes of colour to go in the opposite direction, so they stand out more, I also distressed the edges with Salty Ocean distress ink, and adhered them onto the card with 3D Glue gel.

Now that the topper is finished, I put it onto black card, then onto a 7″ square white card blank. I used a white pigment pen to highlight the eyes, and all the sentiments.

Thank you for visiting, stay safe and stay well.

Hugs, Pauline xxxxxxx

Creativity | Flower Stamp | Squares Stencil

Good Afternoon, we hope you are doing ok today. Ericka Strange is here on the blog with some fabulous inspiration to brighten your day…

Today I’m playing with some products from Visible Image’s latest release. My first card is using the Total Chaos set and the Square Route stencil. I love the large flower and can’t wait to use the other stamps in the set as well.

creativity | stamp | squares stencil

I started off by blending Distress Oxides on Bristol Smooth paper. I used Sea Glass Distress Oxide on the whole panel and then took the Square Route stencil and used Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Grape. I then splatted some water on the panel and lifted some of the ink up.

While my panel was drying, I stamped the flower on another piece of Bristol Smooth paper and heat embossed it with WOW Midnight Dream Embossing Powder. I love the sparkle and shine it give any image. I colored up my flower with Zig Real Color Brush pens and then fussy cut out the image. I stamped and embossed the same image on the panel and then attached my flower with some foam tape.

I added a couple more smaller flowers to the panel as well and heat embossed and colored them as well.

I stamped the sentiment on vellum and heat embossed it with black powder to give it a crisp look and finish my card.

I made one more quick card with the Square Route stencil. My daughter’s friend was having a birthday and he loves Minecraft so I thought this would be a great card for him.

I made this card in a similar way to the previous card. I started out with Bristol Smooth paper and blended Bundled Sage Distress Oxide to the base. Then I took my other green Distress Oxides and blended them in the different squares to make it look like computer game Minecraft. I add the numbers from the Robot Data set and stamped them in various Distress inks around the base.

Once I was done with the background, I stamped the sentiment in Versfine Ink and heat clear heat embossed the whole panel to give it a shine.

To finish my card, I added Nuvo drops for a little fun (including some green glow in the dark).

Thinking of You | Handmade Card

Hi there! Today’s inspiration comes from our wonderful stempelfrida in Germany! We are thinking of you all, so today’s project is perfect…

In these difficult times we need to find new ways of interacting. The internet is one of the great tools we can use now to interact, share and communicate. We can only send a cyber hug, but so often they already help so much. Friends will interact via messages, sending images and talking on the phone to each other. But of course I do not want to say that still a lot of things will also be needed to be done via real activities. I wish you all the best and send a big thank you to everyone that helps in this very special situation.

thinking of you stamp | tree of life stamp

The background of my card is a gelli plate print. I first applied gold acrylic paint on it and put the square route stencil onto it. I then took a first paper print resulting in this first print, which I used for another project.

I took the stencil off, let it dry well and then added a layer of red acrylic paint to pull the print off.

This is how the second print looked.

On the print I stamped the text and the tree with Versamark and embossed them with a detail black embossing powder. Before doing so I had rubbed my background well with an embossing buddy to make sure I have no powder left where it is not supposed to stick.

I embossed the big text in gold on a black card stock, and the leaves in black on a golden one. I added pale golden Nuvo Drops to the leaves on the tree and some black dots on the background. The single bigger leaves were fussy cut and glued to the card with distance pads.

Wow stempelfrida this is a stunning card. The gold looks gorgeous coming through the red, and your tree looks beautiful. Thank you ♡
