Here For You Always

Hello! We hope you are well. Nadine Carlier is here on the blog today with a stunning card featuring our gorgeous inky flower stamp with a beautiful sentiment…

flower stamp | here for you card

Hello! Lately, I seem to be on a watercolor kick. I have been having a lot of fun playing with different ways to use water coloring on cards to create different looks.

here for you always | card | flower stamp

I love these flowers from the Visible Image ‘Creative Chaos’ Stamp Set.

You can watch my video tutorial here to see how I created my card.

I used Pebeo Drawing Gum to create a resist to watercolor the flowers.

For the sentiment, I used the Visible Image ‘So Much Stronger’ Stamp Set.

This is a really gorgeous card and the sentiment is so perfect right now. We love using pebeo drawing gum for masking too, it’s brilliant!  Thank you Nadine ♡

Life is What You Make it

Hi there! We have stempelfrida here on the blog today with the kind of card that would brighten anyone’s day…

Life is what you make it. Wow, that’s another killer statement, huh? I had this idea some time ago with the hearts, which I would arrange like this on a canvas and then place a saying at the bottom right. The ones who know me, are aware that this happens rather rarely with me. I usually do not know beforehand how my card will look like in the end. But you can be sure, even with this project it wasn’t clear before how it will look in detail afterwards.

happy bright card | hearts | ink splats | life is what you make it

Each of these hearts makes its life as it pleases. And look how beautiful this variety is! Yes, I have consciously chosen something very beautiful for each individual heart. And look at what’s going on around the hearts! But also here: these are splotches and doodle circles, but how great and beautiful is this interaction? Life is what you make of it – look around you!

Life is what you make it – and indeed, isn´t that, what we should always remind us of? Yes, it might be hard sometimes, when you are feeling miserable because life gave you a hard time or you need to deal with a tough task. But in the end it is about YOU! You hold the strings in your hands. Your eyes can make the world grey or bright.

I wish you all have the power to realize this every day and especially when you are down.

I started to paint hearts with my LYRA chalks, which I have used so rarely until now. But I wanted something with great bright colours and actually the result is so wonderfully shiny. Thanks to the clearstamps I was always able to estimate the size I needed to paint, because I wanted to stamp the hearts in black on the edges later. I took the colours of the rainbow for my project.

In a second step I mixed the colours with a brush and water and added light and darker areas. I let them dry well and then stamped the hearts on them with Versafine and fussy-cut them.

Afterwards I made light spots with water and darker spots by spraying paint on the hearts with a brush. On the again dried hearts I set white and black accents with acrylic pencils. I bent the hearts a little bit up at the edges and fixed them with spacer pads of different thicknesses.

For my background I have combined the stamps from several sets of Visible Image stamps. I always call this kind of stamps “grubby maker”. Many stampers use them for mixed media techniques and often they are used in dark colours. But I wanted to use them in the right happy colours to set a perfect scene for my hearts and let them feel good. The lines at the bottom of the square are again painted with an acrylic pencil.

The whole picture is quite very big: 21×21 cm, if you want to make it yourself.

Look Forward With Hope

Hello and Happy Monday to you! We hope you had a lovely weekend   Judy Rozema is kicking off this week’s inspiration here on the blog with a stunning card featuring our ‘Beautiful Soul’ face stamp and an inspiring quote…

Today I am sharing some watercolor painting and a card made with three different stamp sets from Visible Image.

face stamp | hair | woman

I started out by mixing oranges, yellows, and reds from my Kuretake paints. I didn’t have an image, or idea in mind for what I would make; I was just mixing colors. When it was dry, it reminded me of the gorgeous image from Beautiful Soul.

I used my MISTI to line up where the image might look best, and stamped it with VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I added the sun from Look Forward With Hope in the upper right corner, and the net from Mesh-ellaneous along the bottom and upper left corner in yellow and orange inks.

I stamped the sentiment sentiment in Nocturne ink. I think it’s the perfect sentiment for all that is happening in our world right now. For added sparkle, I used Orange Peel Stickles in three waves of her hair. I love how it turned out!

Stamps Used:

Thank you for stopping by today!

This card is so striking Judy! Your background is fabulous, we love the texture and interest you added with the fishnet background stamp. Thank you

Finally I played a bit with the shading using Distress Oxide
Walnut Stain ink and a water brush.
In the end I sprinkled the whole tag with white paint.

Life Can Be Tough | Sentiment Stamp

Hi there, thank you for visiting our blog today. Ericka Strange is here with an awesome card featuring a sentiment which is so meaningful, especially at the moment… life can be tough, but my darling so are you.

Happy Thursday and I hope you are all doing well. This was my inspiration for the ‘Red White and Blue’ challenge over in the Visible Image Facebook group.

I started out by smooshing Distress Ink in Candied Apple and Salty Ocean on my craft mat and picking up the ink with Bristol Smooth paper.

flagprep

Once my background dried, I added the safety pin stamp from the Don’t Judge set with Archival Black ink. It’s been a tough year for all of us and in the United States (as many countries) we’ve have been through other hard times and have come through stronger.  I like the look of the tears being held together with safety pins signifying our past tough times as a nation but we’re still strong.

flagpt2

I used the Stars and Stripes stencil with texture paste and added WOW! Embossing White Twinkle for some pretty shine.

flagside

I finished my card with the sentiment from the Brave & Strong stamp set which I think is perfect for the time we are going through with COVID-19.

Look Forward With Hope

Good Evening, we are back with our 3rd and final inspirational post today. Sharon Traynor has created a gorgeous and really uplifting card featuring stamps from our ‘Look Forward With Hope’ set…

Hello there,

Today’s card is spreading a positive message and was created as inspiration for the ‘Brighten Someone’s Day’ challenge, and what can be brighter or more cheery than spreading a little sunshine and hope, eh?

This ‘Look Forward With Hope’ stamp set is one that I regularly turn to for spreading some cheer or just giving someone a little boost.  It is full of beautiful and positive sentiments.

Here is how I made this card:

First, mask off the top portion of the sentiment like I’ve done in this photograph, ink it up, remove the masking and stamp then heat emboss the sentiment onto a strip of vellum.

Next, stamp the sunshine in a rainbow of colours all over a white panel of card.

Now run the panel through an embossing folder for some texture, and distress the edges with some yellow ink.

Add stickles to the centre of each sun and set aside to dry.

Wrap the vellum strip around the panel and mount the panel onto a white card blank with 3d foam.

Stamps Used:

Positive inspiring sentiment stamps

Other Supplies:

White card, Vellum, scrap paper and masking tape, Versafine onyx black ink, Wow clear gloss embossing powder, Prism Inks, star dust Stickles, embossing folder (Sizzix), 3dfoam pad.

I hope you are all looking forward with hope to a time when we can all meet our friends and families again. But until that time….  Stay safe and stay home folks.

Sending you all big, virtual hugs,
Sharon xx

This is a really beautiful and very uplifting card. Love the sparkle and rainbow colours!

New Leaves Will Always Grow

Hi there! We hope you are staying safe and well and coping with this very different world that we all live in at the moment. We are grateful for sunshine and being able to go for walks here in Wales, and we love to see all the signs of spring in the trees, plants and flowers. Jane Tyrrell is here today with a wonderful card featuring our ‘Tree of Life’ stamps, the sentiment in this set is very apt at this current time…

Hello
it is time for my fortnightly design team post for Visible Image. Spring is in full swing now despite the blip in temperatures over the last few days.

The blooms I have seen on my daily walks  have been stunning and these inspired both the card and the colour palette for my card today.

The stamp set I am working with today is called Tree of Life

tree of life stamp

This is what I got up to.

I used blue and pewter distress ink sprays to create a background

I cut it down to a 5 1/2 ” square and then added my stamping. I used the tree in the set as branches around the edge of my card.

I used every stamp in this lovely set.

I stamped both sizes of the leaves onto inky mop up card and cut them out.

I then stamped the leaves onto my card and paper pieced them with the leaves above. I added glossy accents to all the little circles to make them look like dew drops.

Here is my finished card. The sentiment is also so appropriate for now.

Bye for now,

What a fantastic card! We love how you have used the foliage around the edges of your card, and that sky blue is stunning! The dew drops look beautiful too.  Thank you Jane ♡

It’s OK To Not Be OK

Good Evening, we hope you are staying well during this really difficult and worrying time. We have Lynda Hall here on the blog today with a gorgeous card featuring a sentiment we can all relate to right now…

It’s my day to share some Visible Image inspiration, and I think that in these challenging times that we are facing global wide right now, that the sentiment on this card is a good reminder to us all to take care of ourselves. I don’t think that there is a person out there who isn’t having the odd emotional wobble, I know I certainly have had a few. Fortunately for me I have a hobby and a room full of craft supplies that I can totally immerse myself in, which helps me leave my troubles behind for a while. It’s a huge help and sanity saver as I am sure all of you reading this will also understand.

It's OK to not be ok | stamp

This was super simple to create as you will see. Here is how I did it:

I placed the Scribble stencil on some black card and sprayed distress oxide inks through it. This stencil is very cool, and it instantly reminded me of how my brain can feel totally scrambled at times so was the perfect background to this card.

Once dry I sprayed over it again with a glitter enamel to add some sparkle.

I repeated these steps on a second piece of card, and using a circle die cut the centre from one to overlay on the base.

I finished by stamping and embossing the sentiment from the Look Forward With Hope set , and the hand from Tree of Life set (both currently reduced on the website so go grab a bargain!), and mat and layered them onto the base.

I hope that you are all managing to find some creative time at the moment. There is an uplifting challenge running over on the Visible Image Facebook group, so why not pop over and check it out and join in if you can .

Butterfly Angels | Handmade Card

Hello! We have Jane Tyrrell here on the blog today with a fabulous card featuring our grungy butterfly stamps with an inspiring sentiment…

Good Evening,

A fortnight has rolled round and it is time for my regular design team post for Visible Image. Wow there have been so many changes in these 2 weeks. Helen and Mark aka Mr and Mrs Visible Image have lots of ideas to keep us all entertained, engaged and creative in the weeks ahead and one lovely idea is the start of a new challenge. The theme of challenge #1 is such an apt one, “Brighten Someone’s Day”.

I managed to see my best friend for a long lunch just before this whole situation took hold and we both cherish those few hours and realise it may be quite some time before we see one another again. I decided to make my card to send to her.

I knew just the sentiments to use. This is such a great set:

positive sentiment stamps

My dearest friend loves her garden as much as I do so I also reached for the Wings of Change set.

grungy butterfly stamp

Her favourite colour is pink so I made a very pink and girlie background. First I sprinkled on some Infusions and added some spritzes of water.

I then blended on some Distress oxide ink.

I also made some textured butterflies by stamping on some left over inky card, adding crackle accents and a sprinkle of glamour dust for texture and sparkle.

Once dry I cut them out minus the antennae.

I stamped the sentiment and butterflies on the background and then stuck the butterflies on top raising the edge of their wings with foam pads.

Then it was time to put my card together. Here it is;

butterfly card | friends are angels with invisible wings

and one last shot;

There is  also a special Mindfulness section on the Visible Image website at the moment which has 30% off, just perfect for crafters who are sending out cards to help raise people’s spirits at this time. Visible Image is a small husband and wife team who are still shipping here in the UK and abroad for as long as they are able to .

And yes my dear best friend received this card last week and told me that it did lift her spirits which was my very intention. I feel empowered by my crafting that during these uncertain times that I can give a tiny moment of positivity to someone’s day.

I do hope you might join us over on FB with this challenge. Perhaps you could then send what you have made to someone you care for and cannot see in person for now?
Back soon.

Stay safe and stay creative.

Bye for now,
Jane x

New Beginnings Vision | Gel Print Cards

Hello and Happy Saturday! We have Ericka Strange here today with two gorgeous cards featuring our stunning eye stamp, butterfly stencil and lots of inspiring sentiments…

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I’ve been having lots of fun with making backgrounds with my gel press. Today I’m playing with some Visible Image stencils and stamps to make some more fun gel press backgrounds.

gel print cards

I love the soft look of the gel press background with the distress oxides. To start off I used Bristol smooth paper and then picked out some Distress Oxide inks and used a brayer to apply them to my gel press. If you want a deeper color just repeat the process. For my first card I used Fress Squeezed Lemonade and Lucky Clover. Once I was happy with the background, I added the Collision stencil and pressed that on top of the inked gel press.

gelpressprints

I then used Verafine ink and stamped the eye image from Where Dreams Take You and heat embossed it with WOW Black Glint for a sparkly look.

visioneyeclose

I added the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with WOW Midnight Dream. I added a little gel pen to the white part of the eye and finished the card with some ink blending on the edges with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide.

eye rubber stamp

For my second card, I used the same gel press technique with Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers. This time added the Butterfly Ink stencil and a second coat on the gel press with Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet.

butterfly stencil

I then added the sentiments from a Beautiful Soul to the side of the butterfly with white ink.

I added the center sentiment from the Brave and Strong set with Versamark ink and I heat embossed all of the sentiments in white.

butterflyside

To add a little more texture to my card, I used the circle stamp from the Life is Beautiful set and added it to the card in the same Distress Oxide inks.

Thank You Card | No Lines Colouring

Hello! Hope you are ok and staying safe in the crazy weather which seems to be affecting so many people at the moment. Sharon Traynor is here to brighten the day with a beautiful Thank You card, made with our new verse and sentiment with our fabulous new grungy leaf stamp…

Hi! How are you doing? Great I hope.

Today I have some no-line colouring with some of the gorgeous brand new stamps by Visible Image. The latest release from Visible Image has some fabulous  stamps and stencils in it; there really is something for everyone.

I love that there is a larger size of this particular leaf in this new set because it is just the perfect size for a bit of colouring. So, I cut a piece of  Strathhmore Toned Grey paper to a mat size for a 15cm x 15cm card and added a square post-it note in the centre.

Then the leaf was stamped all around the paper using a light grey ink.

Any gaps were filled in with the flowerhead from one of the flower stamps in the same stamp set, and then I set about colouring it.

When colouring with polychromos pencils, the first thing I do is lay down some white in the areas that I want to have white in them, because it is impossible to add that later. Then I used a light green to softly colour where the leaf appeard inside the bubble, and I used 2 blue pencils to add a bit of shading to the bubbles to make them look 3d. (The arc that you can see in the photo must have been a reflection of something because it’s not there, or it moves, in other photos).

Then I moved on to the leaf veins, which were coloured in the darkest green, and added a little yellow on some of the leaf spots. I varied where theses spots appeared on most of the leaves for a bit of interest.

Next the rest of the leaf was coloured in. Four different shades of greens were used, the lightest at the top and the darkest at the bottom. I also blended some darker shades around the leaf veins,

and then the pink flower heads were tackled. I added blue for shading to separate the petals and just used pinks for the petals, again the lightest at the top by the white and the darkest at the bottom.

Carry on in this way all around the card. A lovely relaxing thing to do!

Now it just needs the sentiment heat embossing in the centre and mounting onto some gold card and a bit more grey paper. Put it all on a card blank and the card is finished.

Stamps Used:

inky flower | grunge | leaf | stamps

thank you verse | stamp | sentiment

Other Supplies:

Strathmore Toned Grey paper, Square post-it note, Memento London Fog Ink, Polychromos pencils ( 101 white, 104 light yellow glaze, 110 phthalo blue, 112 leaf green, 123 fuchsia, 125 middle pink purple, 129 pink madder lake, 140 light ultramarine, 159 hooker’s green, 171 light green, 266 permanent green), Versamark Clear Embossing ink, WOW! metallic gold rich embossing powder, gold mirror card, white card blank.

That’s it from me for today. Thanks for stopping by and I really hope to see you again soon.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

Handmade Cards | Sentiment Stamps | Part 2

Hello! Sharon Traynor is back with her 2nd card making tutorial post today showcasing our gorgeous new sentiment stamps…

Hi! I’m back with my second post of today. Here is another 3 card designs that I came up with yesterday that use some of the soon-to-be-released stamps by Visible Image (you can see the other designs by clicking HERE). These stamps are available on pre-order until 15th February 2020 and they are such fun to use! You’ll be glad to see that this post is much shorter than the other one, and hopefully I’m showing versatility in these cards that I hope will spark some additonal ideas for you.

handmade cards | verse stamps

Let’s start with this striking red card. Honestly, it is SO easy to make if you have some of those inch wide ink cubes.

anniversary card | stamp | verse

First cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than your card blank and stamp your sentiment onto it. Attach it to your work surface with masking tape. Tear a bit of scrap paper and use masking tape to secure it over the top of the piece of white card. Now drag your ink cube from the scap paper onto the white card, reducing the pressure as you get towards the middle of the card. Repeat this all the way down the edge. Now do the same again with a darker ink pad, reducing the pressure a lot earlier.

Before you remove the scrap paper and masking tape, stamp some of the heart images along the red part using your darker ink.

Stamp and heat emboss 3 hearts in gold embossing powder onto gold mirri card and fussy cut them out.

Attach the inked white card to a red card blank (or cut a mat of red card) and then add the golden hearts with 3d foam.

Now for the blue sympathy card.

with sympathy card | stamp |verse

Cut a white panel again and using a light blue ink and a cloud mask, blend some clouds all over the panel.

Stamp the sentiment into place. The stamp the wings into place using 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation ink so that they get lighter as the move further away from the sentiment.

Mount the panel onto a blue card blank (or onto a blue mat, and then onto a card blank).

Finally The ‘Thank You’ Card

thank you card | stamp | verse

Cut a white panel and doodle a border.

Mask off the border and stamp the ‘Thank You’ into place first, then stamp the heart at various heights across the bottom of the panel.

TIP:
Always think about your design and what items you are going to use. Don’t do as I did, I used the wrong type of ink for alcohol markers!!! Luckily I manage to work so that the ink didn’t smudge into the coloured area (I should have used and ink like Memento).

Colour the heart at the top of the ‘thank you’ stalk, then doodle some simple patterns into the remaining hearts. Attach this to a black mat and then add the whole thing to a card blank.

Handmade Cards | Sentiment Stamps | Part 1

Hi! Do you love making cards? If so, you are in for a treat as we have not one but two posts from Sharon Traynor today, as she showcases some really beautiful cards featuring our new sentiment and verse stamps…

Hello there. There’s some fantastic new stamps and stencils by Visible Image that are due to be released on 15th February (they are available on pre-order at the time of writing this post) and I managed to get my hands on 3 of the sentiment stamps and the accessory stamp set that compliments the sentiments. The accessory stamps are beautiful and they will also make some brilliant stand-alone cards.. watch this spot.. ;-).. but I had a play with all 4 of these sets yesterday and came up with 6 cards.

verse stamps | handmade cards

The cards in this post show that a beautiful verse is not just for the inside of a card….. they work equally well as the main focus. These verses are absolutely gorgeous!

with sympathy card | stamps

My first idea was to make a ‘set’ of cards that it would be easy to replicate, but that had a timeless, elegant look, because I love to inspire people with cards that are easily achievable.  I say ‘set’ because the basic design for these cards is the same, however I’ve changed how the accessory stamps are used as well as the shape of the apertures in each card.

thank you card | stamps

ALTERNATIVE DESIGN IDEA: There are always new people coming into this wonderful crafty world and hopefully a set like this won’t scare them away. However, for people looking for something a little more advanced, it would be very easy to make these into shaker card.

TIP: Although I’ve used a lot of dimension on the layers in these cards, it would be really easy to omit the foam to make flat cards for posting.

wedding | anniversary | card | stamps

Let’s take a look at how these were made.

Firstly, cut 2 pieces of card to size for the front layers and die cut an aperture in each one. TIP: If I made these cards again, I would arrange both layers and secure them with low-tack masking tape, place my die where I wanted the aperture to be and die cut both layers at the same time. That way you can be sure that the holes with line up beautifully.

Once you have the layers die cut, lay the larger one on top of a card blank and lightly mark the aperture opening on the card blank with a pencil.

If you intend to use an open image on the card blank area such as I have done here with the wedding rings, stamp and heat emboss that into place, then use some masking fluid (or a mask) to cover up any parts you wish to remain white. (You should be able to make out the pencil marks I made to mark the aperture in this photo.)

Tape the edges of the card blank with low-tack tape to stop them getting inky, then blend inks to create an ombre effect where the apertures will be. Make sure to leave a little area of white that will appear at the top of the aperture. Set these aside to dry completly.

Once dried, stamp and heat emboss the sentiments. To line up the sentiments into the apertures it is a good idea to place the card blank into a stamping platform, lay the largest mat on top and align the stamp with the opening before getting the stamp to stick to the stamping platform door. Remove the mat and stamp as normal then heat emboss.

You can always stamp some additional images for interest, as I have done on the green version before moving on to assembling the card.

If you are stamping images onto the very top layer do that next. I stamped the wings on the sympathy card, and the flower stalk on the thank you card and heat embossed those with clear embossing ink. I also added some sparkle to the wings with a gel pen.

Assemble the card by firstly erasing any pencil marks, then adding foam (either foam tape or fun foam) to each layer and adhere those to the card blank. Add any additional pieces of the accessory images, like the flower (which I heat embossed, water coloured and glittered with a gel pen)

Here are the cards with the products that have been used.

Valentine Stamps | Pop Art Cards

Hello! With Valentine’s Day only a few weeks away, Sharon Traynor is here with some fabulous inspiration featuring our gorgeous lips stamps and some romantic sentiments..

valentine cards | Lips stamp | sentiments

Hi there. I was browsing around the internet the other day when I came across a Pop Art image and I was immediately struck by how clean the lines were, how simple the images were and how the colours were bright and what I call ‘happy’.

Well, that little piece of art got me all fired up to make a card and the first image that popped into my mind was those gorgeous, luscious lips by Visible Image. Then I grabbed a couple of their stencils and set to work.

I firstly blended a couple of backgrounds, making sure the centre of each stencil was off centre, slightly below and to the left, so that they looked ‘right’ when the lips image was added. I did stamp the lips image directly onto these panels too, so that the splatters of lipstick were not omitted, because  I wanted to fussy cut the lips.

Then I stamped and heat embossed the lips onto scrap card using distress oxide inks for the first layer of stamping, plus a super-shiny clear gloss embossing powder. I used a stamping platform because I wanted a really fantastic shine, so these were heat embossed 3 times using clear ink for the subsequent stampings. Then I fussy cutting them out.

Just look at that shine!!!!

Next I stamped and heat embossed a couple of sentiments….

…. and drew a speech bubble in pencil around the sentiments before I cut those out too. The pencil lines can easily be erased with an eraser. I edged the speech bubbles with the corresponding distress marker for the colour of the lips.

Then I just added the panels onto card blanks and layered the lips and speech bubbles onto the panels.

There are LOADS of Visible Image images that would work well with this CAS and graphic type of treatment!

Stamps & Stencils Used:

Other Supplies:

Clear Gloss embossing powder, blending tools, masking tape, Stamping Platform, pencil, scissors, red card blank.

That’s it from me for now. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

Inhale Confidence | Art Journal Page

Hello! We are back as promised with more wonderful inspiration today. Veerle has created an inspiring art journal page, with a tutorial video too, so sit back, relax and inhale…

I’ve been missing for a while… it have been some crazy couple of weeks with the end of the year happening. But we’ve started 2020 and of course creativity will be a big part again ^.^

So January first… I had my camera on and just went ahead and made my first video for this year.

I think these words are perfect to get a whole new year started. Words to keep in mind. And I know, it’s always easier said than done. But I want to make these a big part of 2020. These and so many other words from the Visible Image word stamps. Let’s make 2020 a strong year ^.^

New Beginnings | Card | Visible Image

Hello! We hope you had a great weekend! We have lots of fabulous inspiration to share with you on the blog this week. First up is Martha with an awesome mixed media card featuring our New Beginnings sentiment stamp.. perfect words for the new year!

New year, new decade, new beginnings, new post for Visible Image 🙂

I made this card for my self, maybe I’ll hanging on my wall as a reminder 🙂

Here is a quick step by step:

On watercolor paper I blended some distress ink through the stencil Fibres

then I stamped with Somewhere In Time the big stain with Pumice Stone Disteress Ink

then from the same stamp set, I stamped the clock with Black Archival Ink

to build the background some more stamps, from Creative Chaos this time

On another piece of cardstock I stamped my quote from the Brave And Strong stamp set and made a frame with a fine marker

Now is time to give a little more structure to the background so I applied some modeling paste through the stencil Count Me In

and when dry add more color with the grey Brusho

Some white splatters to finish the background, before applying some wire, the quote and the little strip that I cut from the top of the card

And here is the result

Products Used:

fibres - waves - stencil - texture

numbers - stencil - jumbled - count me in

smashes clock - pocket watch - time - stamps - rubber

inky flower - stamp - rubber - clear - grunge

brave - strong - courage - inspiring sentiment - stamps

We adore this Martha! So much gorgeous texture and detail in your background… Thank you ♡

Have Compassion | Mental Health Awareness Stamps

Hi there! Lisa Taggart is here on the blog today with a superb mixed media project created with our ‘Don’t Judge’ stamp set…

Hello! Have you been enjoying the new autumn release stamps from visible image? Today I’m using one of my favourite sets. I love the versatility of this set. Perfect sentiments and brilliant combination of images. Great for mixed media and journaling projects as well as cards of course.

don't judge | compassion | rubber stamps

Don’t judge

don't judge | i am strong | compassion | broken | stamps

It’s great to get an opportunity to use up interesting scraps after a gel press printing session. Today’s project uses an MDT tag.

The steps:

Select an interesting print and cut to fit the tag. Stick with tacky glue and sand the edges. I also painted the back and tag stand using black gesso.

Heat emboss the image three times in black on printed leftovers. Then cut out.

Stamp and cut out a number of jig saw puzzle pieces from the scraps. Stamp more of these images on the main tag and stick the cut out pieces on top paying attention to the background colours. A contrast is best. Then heat emboss the scribble stamp on two of the person cut outs and repeat the puzzle card piecing technique on them too. Add the safety pin stamp on the centre image and heat emboss in black.

Heat emboss the heart in black on to the tag. Add some ink splatters in black and white. Assemble the cut out images on top using foam pads. I also added black thread for extra texture. Stamp the sentiments and cut out. Edge using black ink. Adhere to project. Finally use a pale coloured paint pen for a little doodling around the edges.

Bye for now …

Lisa. Xx

This is so awesome! We love how you stamped the jigsaw pieces in the background and then layered some on top, it creates superb dimension on your stunning background. The figures look so striking too! Thank you Lisa ♡

Count Me In | Birthday Card

Hi! We have Judy Rozema up next on the blog today with a fantastic Birthday card featuring our awesome ‘Count Me In’ numbers stencil…

Hello friends!

Today I am sharing a card using a technique I learned from @understandblue at her October retreat. I have Brushos and Color Burst powders, but PaperArtsy Infusions are by far by favourite because of the walnut stain in each bottle.

I chose one of my favorite stencils from Visible Image, COUNT ME IN, and a sentiment from GO TO WORDS. I think they are perfect for each other!

numbers stencil | birthday sentiment | card

I used Magenta, Golden Sands, and a little Sunset Beach for my Infusions colors. You can see in THIS VIDEO, starting at 1:30 how this look is achieved.

For a little sparkle, I added some metallic thread along the bottom third of the card.

We adore this card Judy, and you are so right this stencil is perfect for a Birthday card.. whatever the number might be! Loving this technique, your background is super stunning and the vibrancy of the yellow looks wonderful against it. Thank you

Face Stamp | Beautiful Soul

Good Evening! We have Ericka Strange here on the blog tonight with 2 incredible cards created with our gorgeous new ‘Beautiful Soul’ face stamp…

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today I’m playing with the new release from Visible Image called Beautiful Soul. I love this set and the beautiful words it contains.

reddwonwsp

I started by stamping the image on Bristol Smooth paper and gold heat embossing it.  My oldest daughter saw me making it and asked if I could use red on her hair and make the middle yellow. So I took out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and used a variety of pink and reds to color her hair as well as yellows for the middle.

redstart

Once I was finished I used a sparkle pen on the hair to give it a little more shine. For the background, I blended Antique Linen Distress Oxide and a light Black soot on the edges. I heat embossed the sentiments in gold and added some sequins for some extra shine.

redcloseup

I love this set so much that I had to make one with blue hair as well.

blucardwwater

I made this similarly to the one above. I used Bristol Smooth paper and heat embossed it with Silver. My youngest daughter, whose name is Elsa, saw the first card and wanted me to make her one, thus the “Let it Go” look.

I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens to color her hair and decided to add a little sparkly silver embossing to the middle of her hair. I then added some silver sequins I had in my stash to give her a more regal winter look.

bluesqcloseup

I finished by stamping the “Let it Go” with a Concord & 9th set Perfectly Penned and then used the other sentiments in the Visible Image set to add to her.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Get Up | Dress Up | Face Stamp

Hello! We have Sharon Traynor here on the blog this evening with a fabulous card featuring our NEW ‘Beautiful Soul’ face stamp with our ‘Never Give Up’ sentiment…

Happy Monday!

I have some no-line colouring of a gorgeous image from the BRAND NEW RELEASE by Visible Image. She is an absolute dream to colour, if you like colouring, and she comes with so many gorgeous words too. The sentiment on this card is from a new set too.

Here’s how I made this DL card.

Take some Strathmore Toned Grey sketch paper and stamp the image onto it using a light grey ink.

I started with the face. Using some polychromos pencils and a very light touch I started to colour, adding white to the areas I wanted a highlight first (because you can’t really add a highlight afterwards). Then I added more colour moving from light to dark, adding a little blue to the darker parts.  I wanted to retain the look of hand colouring so the pencil strokes have not been completely blended in. I am still learning how to colour like this so I knew it wouldn’t be perfect, but I like the finished result.

polychromos pencils - face stamp

Next colour the hair. I used 3 colours for the hair, adding low-lights with the dark colour and highlights with the lighter colour.  Making sure the highlights don’t line up over every strand gives it a more natural look.

To finish the card I stamped a sentiment and some of the words along the edge, then doodled a border in between the stamped words with a black pen.

Stamps Used:

face stamp | beautiful soul | visible image

heartfelt sentiment stamps | visible image

Other Supplies:

Strathmore toned grey sketch paper, Memento london fog ink, Polychromos (101 white, 102 cream, 126 permanent carmine, 130 dark flesh, 131 medium flesh, 132 light flesh, 151 helio-blue reddish, 183 light yellow ochre, 187 burnt ochre, 283 burnt sienna), Versafine onyx black, stamping platform, black micron pen.

That’s it from me for now. Thanks for stopping by and I really hope to see you again soon.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

Life Can Be Tough | Face Stamps

Hello! We hope you are having a great weekend! Stempelfrida is here on the blog today with a gorgeous card featuring our face stamps, with a sentiment from our NEW ‘Brave and Strong’ stamp set…

I am mega enthusiastic about the new words of the Visible Image Autumn release, and today I have combined an older set with “Life can be tough but my darling so are you”. Whoa!!!! What a wonderful source of inspiration for my card.

You may not believe it, which of the card was a challenge, but it is the face. First, how do I want the proportions? Because the eye stamp with the eyebrow and the mouth stamp, on which the nose is only indicated, are two stamps. Without having drawn anything from my face, it was not so easy for me to decide how big the distance should be. And then, of course, there’s the colouration. And there is almost nothing of the facial contour after stamping. Of course this offers you a white canvas for your artistic freedom. It was faszinating to see the woman under the pencils emerge. The colouration is done with copics and polychromos. The zipper is also coloured with copics and glued on the cut out face. I designed my background with acrylic paints.

Supplies

Brave and Strong

brave - strong - sentiment stamps

Don´t Judge

mental health - rubber stamps - mindfulness - don't judge - healing

Face it!

Stamp pads: Ink on 3
Copics 0, E51, E53, E55, E13, E15, E33, E04, T1, T4, T6, R85, R59, B0000, B12, B91, B04, B02
Polychromos 189, 131, 146, 120, 151, 199

How amazing is this card! So striking with a fabulous mix of stamps and such beautiful colouring. Thank you stempelfrida ♡

Entwined Butterflies | Stencil

Good Evening, we have the very fabulous Ericka Strange here to inspire you this evening with a beautiful card featuring our entwined butterflies stencil with a gorgeous sentiment…

Happy Monday! Its been a little gloomy here lately so I thought I’d brighten things up in the craft room with this Visible Image Entwined Butterflies stencil and Distress Oxides.

I love Distress Oxide blending on Bristol Smooth paper because it is so easy to get a nicely blended background. For this quick card I used Distress Oxide in Squeezed Lemonade, Lucky Clover, Peacock Feathers, and Wilted Violet.

stencilblending

Once the blending was done, I let it dry a bit so that I could heat embossed my sentiment without it sticking all over. I love this So Much Stronger Sentiment set from Visible Image and the fonts are so pretty.

closeup

I stamped the sentiment in Versafine ink and heat embossed it. To finish the card I used some Black Nuvo Drops.

Have a wonderful day and I hope you have a chance to make some sunshine!

Love You Longer | Gelli Print Card

Hello! We are back with more awesome inspiration this afternoon! The amazing Stempelfrida is here with a superb card with a great mix of stamps and a wonderful gelli print background…

It’s time for my Visible Wednesday for you!

Do you know that: Actually you wanted to do something completely different…. but then something great came out of it. I want to be honest with you: That’s how it was with my card from today.

gelli print - water soluble crayons - visible image stamps

On Instagram there is currently a challenge from Brigit Koopsen with Gelli Plates. I’m really not an expert on this and so I’ve done a lot of things completely wrong with this card. But that led to a nice result. It was day 4 of the challenge on water soluble crayons. These should be used in the Challenge with the Gelli Plate. On the one hand, I worked with too much water with the chalks, so that they rather flowed and then I also applied too much acrylic paint. But, lo and behold, that also gave a great pattern. And so I was very happy with my background, even if you can’t see the actual intention with the chalks anymore.

In the background I then stamped the hearts from the stamp set “Have I told you” and drew a bit with my Poscamarker. By the way, I have become a really big fan of the Poscamarkers. The white one doesn’t come close to the opacity of the Signomarker in my opinion, but it also fulfils its purpose and the colour variety with Posca pens is great. You may know that they are also available with very different tips.

The sentiment!!!!!!!! Isn’t it beautiful? I know exactly who thought of whom when SHE created it, but it certainly hits many of us directly in the heart. I stamped it with the Ink on 3 stamp pad.

I had made a card last month with three figures. I had written there that I had made four, but didn’t need one of them. Now it came into play as a main actor. You can read here (CLICK) how I made it.

Stempelfrida your print is amazing! Even if it is not how it was meant to be, we think it works so well with your card design.

The figure looks so striking in white against the colour, and the sentiment is gorgeous with him!
Thank you ♡

Look Forward | Tag | Visible Image

Good Morning, we have lots of inspiration coming your way here on the blog today! First up is Veerle with a beautiful and so inspiring tag featuring our look forward sentiment stamp..

Those wings… they were the first to jump right into my eyes when I saw the release of this set Faerie magic. They look perfect with the faerie but I already saw myself use them separately.

So I took out some stazon ink and a piece of sturdy plastic, cut them all out… and then just started playing with laying them out in different ways. Hmm maybe bring in a black circle… which was a bit too dark so I needed to break that up…

Never did I think that the wings would end up as flower petals on my first project using them ^.^
And of course I needed some words… No surprise when I tell you I didn’t need to look really hard to find those in all the perfect words Visible Image has do I ^.^

Sometimes life is fragile, but it is in full bloom and there is nothing better to do than to look forward. Find those golden spots when everything is dark, those are the ones that will pull you through <3

Stamps used:

mindfulness - stamps - rubber - positive quotes

fairy stamp - rubber - clear

inky - thorax - ribs - anatomy - stamps

This is so beautiful Veerle, we love how you always see the stamps in your own unique way.. thank you ♡

Listen to your Imagination | Lightbulb stamp

Good Morning! We have Macarena here on the blog today with a fabulous card featuring our light bulb stamp and our brilliant numbers stencil…

Oh no! Not bulbs again! 🙂
I’m wondering what Freud would say about it…

Anyway, I’m not going to stop using them, lol.
This one was made for a Birthday of a very talented designer…
To keep it masculine I created an electric garden with bulb-flowers.
Yeah, it can be weird but I hope he likes it.

1. Embossed the background with a stencil.
2. Used the same stencil and a black paint to make the background.
3. Gave a touch of blue and green here and there.
4. Used the flower as leaves, colored it in green and cut out.

Used Visible Image products:

Wow! We love your electric garden! Your stencilled background looks awesome, and the light bulbs are so striking against it. Great mix of stamps to create your sentiment too! Thank you Macarena ♡

One Kind Word | You Are Loved

Good Evening! Ericka Strange is here on the blog today with an amazing card featuring the typewriter stamp and sentiment from our ‘One Kind Word’ stamp set…

Happy Wednesday! Today I’m playing with some alcohol ink and the One Kind Word set from Visible Image. The sentiments in this set are awesome and I love how some of them fit in the typewriter paper.

cardsideways

typewriter rubber stamp

I started my card by using a background I had previously made with alcohol ink. I love making backgrounds and have a huge stash and thought this one with the rainbow of colors would go perfectly. I wanted some gold accents on the background, so I used Deco Foil Liquid adhesive and applied gold foil to it which added some beautiful gold lines.

cardmaking

I stamped the sentiment on vellum with Versamark ink and gold embossed it. Originally, I had stamped the typewriter image on the background with Versafine ink and clear heat embossed it. I felt that the detail of the stamp got lost in the busy background, so instead, I stamped the image on some white paper with Versafine ink and clear heat embossed it. I also added the “You Are Loved” in Versamark ink and gold embossed it to match the sentiment above.

sideclose

I fussy cut out the typewriter image and used foam tape to adhere it to my background over my stamped image. This helped the typewriter stand out and also gave the card more dimension.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a chance to spread some kindness today!

Wow what an incredible background! The touches of gold look so striking against the vivid colours. Loving the sentiment embossed onto velum too! Thank you Ericka

Don’t Let Someone Dim Your Light | Moth Stamp

Hi there! We hope you had a great weekend. We have so much inspiration to bring you here on the blog this week. We are kicking off with a vibrant card from Pauline Butcher featuring our amazing moth stamp…

Hellooo,

It’s my turn to share a card I’ve made using some of the awesome stamps available from Visible Image.

moth - lightbulb - rubber stamp

The stamps I have used on this 6″ x 6″ card are from:

ripple - rubber stamp

My background was achieved by randomly blending Distress inks: Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry and Salty Ocean, before flicking a little water over it to bleach the colour out. I then blended Chipped Sapphire around the edges, and again blended a touch of Black Soot, just on the very edges.

I stamped with the large circular stamp out of the ‘Ripple Effect’ set, after I used masking tape across the middle of the stamp, and then another piece of tape to mask off half the stamp again, meaning that I was only stamping with a quarter of the stamp, and some gold ink to give a subtle sparkle. I did this four times.

On a separate piece of white card, I stamped the moth, light bulbs and sentiment, fussy cutting them and colouring them with my Clean Color Brush Pens (I left the sentiment white, but went around the edges with my yellow pen). I adhered these to my background with 3D glue Gel. When the glue was dry, I stamped the smallest moth three times, then used a Sakura sparkle pen and a white pen to add some highlights, and of course Stickles to finish it off!

Hugs, Pauline xxxxx

Thank you Pauline this is such an awesome card! Love the subtle gold rings around the light bulb and the gorgeous colours! ♡

Memories Tell Our Story | Guardian Angel Stamp

Hello! We have Stempelfrida here on the blog today with a gorgeous card featuring our Guardian Angel stamp with our beautiful ‘Special Memories’ sentiment…

It is with great pleasure to show you this card today. Because, …..after my 3-month guest design time at Visible Image I was invited to join the main design team, hooray!!!!!!! From today on I will have a “Visible Wednesday” every other Wednesday for you, so to speak 🙂

special memories sentiment stamp - guardian angel

I made the background for my card with the Gelli Plate and the Fibres stencil from Visible Image. In the middle it looks like there is no colour, but this is a trick: I used white acrylic paint there. It creates, for example, space for the text that I stamped with Versamark on it and embossed in black.

I stamped the angel from the set guardian angel with Memento and coloured it with Copics. Then I cut it out by hand. I did the same with the leaves. The drops on the leaves are Glossy Accents. On my background I added a few drops with Nuvo Drops. Some of them are translucent. At the edges I have torn off my background. The white dots on the card base are made with a marker.

Through The Storm | Handmade Card

Hello! Guest Designer Lynda Hall is here on the blog today with a gorgeous card featuring one of our newer sentiments, written by Helen, called ‘You’ll get through this storm’…

Wow it’s just come across really stormy here in Hampshire this afternoon and the heavens have opened. A perfect moment to be sharing this card for Visible Image.

you'll get through this storm - card

I created this from a mop up card that I had from a previous project, using Amsterdam acrylic ink. The combination of blues and greys just screamed ‘sea’ to me.

I used the ‘strobes’ stencil and swiped some gesso through it to give a white base for some rays of sunshine.

I swiped yellow and orange paint over the top when dry, and stamped and heat embossed the sun from the ‘Look Forward With Hope’ set in the centre.

I stamped some clouds from the same set, and painted with acrylic ink. For this I used my stamping platform, as once I had painted I wanted to re stamp the detail over the top.

I added some waves with paint to create the stormy sea.

The final step was to stamp the sentiment  and fussy cut some paper boats from the ‘Destination Unknown’ set and pop them in the sea to bob about.

I added the rest of the sentiment inside the card.

inspiring quote stamp

As if by magic as I uploaded the final image here , the rain stopped, the clouds lifted and the sun came out. How bizare is that!

Products Used:

strobes - rays - stencil

hope - sentiment stamps - inspiring words

paper boats - stamps - planes - destination - journey

I’ll be back soon with more Visible Image inspiration for you.

Lynda

Live in the Moment | Dragonfly Stamp

Hello! We are thrilled to welcome Nadine Carlier to the blog today with her debut post as a Guest Designer! Nadine has created a stunning card to inspire you, featuring our beautiful dragonfly stamp…

Sometimes you just need to live in the moment! I created this card using stamps from Visible Image for my first Guest Design Team post.

dragonfly stamp | alcohol inks

For the background, I used photo paper and used some alcohol ink. I first got the paper wet with some blending solution, and dropped on some alcohol ink and using a straw I blew the alcohol ink around on the paper. I continued doing this with 4 different colors of alcohol ink in Sail Boat Blue, Wild Plum, Bottle, and Mixative Silver until I was happy with how it looked.

Once the alcohol ink was basically dry, but still had some tacky areas left, I used some Xyron Glaminator Copper Transfer Foil by pressing (shiny side facing up) it down onto the tacky areas and then lifted it back up. This left some of the foil stuck to the tacky areas.

Photo paper will crack and bubble if heated with a heat tool which was what I wanted, so I used my heat tool onto the background until it started to crack.

The dragonfly and sentiment are from the Visible Image Live In The Moment Stamp Set.

I stamped the dragonfly using StazOn Ink in Jet Black onto the background. Using another piece of photo paper I used the Sail Boat Blue and Bottle Alcohol Ink colors by just dropping it around on the paper with some blending solution and dried it with my heat tool until it started to crack. Then I stamped the dragonfly onto the new piece of photo paper. I fussy cut out the dragonfly and outlined the dragonfly and also the background piece with a Copper DecoColor Premium Paint Marker and then adhered the dragonfly down onto where I stamped it onto the background. Then stamped the sentiment with StazOn in Jet Black using my Misti stamping platform. Added some Diamond Glaze onto the dragonfly and adhered everything down to a white card base. All done!

Nadine this is absolutely stunning! That copper foiling looks amazing against those vibrant colours, and highlights the dragonfly stamp beautifully ♡ Thank you!

Look Forward With Hope | Handmade Card

Hello! Sorry we have neglected our blog lately, the last few weeks have been a challenge as I (Helen) had a nasty fall and have been in quite a lot of pain. So… as we have lots of inspiration to catch up with here on the blog, we are planning lots of posts over the next few days sharing the latest cards and projects from our fabulous Design Team and our wonderful guest designers! Jane Tyrrell is kicking things off with a gorgeous card that would brighten anyone’s spirits, it has definitely brightened mine! As I have now started a programme of physiotherapy, I will look forward with hope to being pain free again! Over to Jane…

Good Evening,

Today I have used one of the 3 lovely new sentiment sets. This one is called Look Forward with Hope. So many really positive sentiments, suitable for all occasions.

positive - quote - stamps - sentiment - rubber

I decided I wanted to make a seaside feel card. I added some distress oxides to speciality stamping card and then added some “sea” using paints.

I then added fossilized amber distress oxide ink through the Strobes stencil

rays - strobes - stencil

I decided I wanted more texture so I added texture paste through the strobes stencil in the same area. When dry I found that the sunshine in the set fitted perfectly inside. I also added some Glossy accents to the sun which you can see in the final photos.

I stamped some of the clouds directly onto the crackle and others I stamped onto card and fussy cut out.

I then stamped and coloured one of the sweet dolphins from the Mythical Mermaid stamp set

mermaid stamp

and fussy cut him out. I added a little sheen with Spectrum Noir sparkle.

I also stamped some waves using the stamp in the mermaid set. I then stamped the ‘don’t look back’ sentiment from the set, added the dolphin, a little white ink highlighting and my card was finished..

look forward - hope - card - rubber stamp

A couple of close ups…

And one final shot.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Back soon.

It’s ok to not be ok | Card

Hi there! Veerle Moreels is here this evening with a beautiful heartfelt card which would be perfect for anyone going through a tough time…

Mixed media on a card…why not?  And even though I made this project in the shape of a card it’s also a possibility to turn it into an art journal page.

Either way you choose to have a go at, be it a little reminder for yourself, or for it to be a bit positive reinforcement for anyone who needs it, have a go as these words should be out there… It is okay to not be okay. We are humans, no heroes. Well sometimes we are a hero but I think it’s safe to say we are no heroes 24/7 and no one is, not even our heroes.

Have you already subscribed to my YouTube channel? A massive thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you haven’t, you are more than welcome to be part of my community over there too so leave me a comment after subscribing so I can say hi and welcome you! Oh and if you don’t want to miss out on any video going live: make sure you hit that bell after subscribing so you can get a notification when a video goes live.

Sunshine on a Rainy Day | Sentiment Stamp

Hello! We have Stempelfrida here on the blog today with a gorgeous summery card featuring our ‘Sunshine on a Rainy Day’ sentiment…

I sincerely hope that your day was sunny in your heart, but if it wasn’t, I’ll send you some sun with my card.

When I saw the flowers from Visible Image, I fell in love with them immediately. And the font of the text is sooooo beautiful, isn’t it? It fits so well and is so nice and playful.

It is my second card for the guest design team of Visible Image.

Unfortunately I didn’t think about taking photos in between when I created the background, because I used a special effect. You need glossy paper and Distress Oxides. With these I have stained diligently and worked with water. I also stamped circles in different colours. And then comes the big secret: With a little sponge you apply a little Micro Glaze and rub away the chalk-like pigments of the Oxides. The gloss of the paper comes through again and everything shines beautifully. Maybe I can take a snapshot before and after the next time.

And then a Faux-Pas happened to me! Since I was not yet clear before stamping the text, with which colour I would paint it and whether at all, I first cheerfully stamped with Versafine … and then decided that I would like to make it a bit colourful. And preferably with Copics, sigh! Well, then I had to be very careful at the lines and with my markers and I had to stripe off black ink again and again. For those who are not so familiar with it: Versafine doesn’t work with alcohol-based marker, they dissolve the lines. That is why I usually stamp these things with Memento before colouring them.

That’s how I did it with the flowers and the butterfly. I first stamped them with Memento and then coloured them with Copics and cut out by hand. I bent the butterfly on its wings to make it pop.

For the base card I stamped the structures with Versamark (the edges were sufficient) and embossed them in white.

I scribbled at bit on the edges and added Nuvo Drops. I mounted everything with distance pads.

Stamps Used:

sentiment stamps

butterfly - stamps - grunge

organics - inky - ink splat - stamps

flower stamp - inky - creativity

Other Supplies:

stamp pads: Distress Oxides spun sugar, dried marigold, picked raspberry; Versafine onyx black; Memento tuxedo black; Versamark
embossing powder: Stampendous! detail white
Copics R81, R83, R85, R89, Y13, Y19, YR16, RV04, RV09
Copic Multiliner 0.5
Signo Marker weiß
Nuvo Crystal Drops Gloss simply white, english mustard, carnation pink
Glossy Accents
Judy Kins Micro Glaze

We adore this card, it’s so gorgeous and happy!  Thank you Stempelfrida ♡

You’ll Get Through This Storm | Sentiment Stamp

Hi there! Sharon Traynor is here with such a gorgeous and very clever card today featuring one of the uplifting sentiment stamps from our NEW ‘Look Forward With Hope’ stamp set…

you'll get through this storm - sentiment stamp

Well, I hope you have sunshine and not rain storms wherever you live. However, as soon as I saw the cloud and sentiment stamps in this Look Forward With Hope brand new stamp set by Visible Image I knew I wanted to make a card where beads move up and down threads like raindrops.

I’ve seen these cards around the internet and thought I would try to make one. I don’t know if I have made it correctly….but this is my take.

First blend some distress inks onto white card. Add the time tunnel stencil (my favourite!) on the top and blend though it with broken china distress ink. Move the stencil and blend again so that you have 2 swirls.

spiral stencil

Add a little iced spruce through the cosmic skies stencil.

galaxy sky stencil

Then stamp a few of the clouds with broken china ink.

Cut the panel to size, then add layers of shaker tape as shown below. Sandwich threads, with beads on them, between the layers of shaker tape, making sure that the beads can move freely.

TIP: Once the threads were in place I dusted the sides of the shaker tape with baby powder. This makes sure that there are no sticky patches on the sides.

Cut a white ‘frame’ panel for the front of the card and adhere it to the background. Heat emboss the central sentiment panel in silver embossing powder and attach that too. Attach the whole thing to a card blank.

On the inside stamp the sentiment and the image

Products Used:

sentiment stamps - uplifting - positive

  spiral stencil

  galaxy sky stencil

Other Supplies:

Distress Oxide Inks (tumbled glass, broken china, iced spruce), Prism inks (canary yellow, orange zest), Versafine onyx black, Versamark clear, WOW! metallic silver embossing powder, shaker foam tape, thread, silver beads, white card, baby powder

That’s it from me for now. Thanks for stopping by and I really hope to see you again soon.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

The World Needs Art | Visible Image

Hello! We have Jane Tyrrell here on the blog this evening with an awesome project featuring lots of our creative quote stamps…

Today I am sharing an accordion card I took to the Crafting at Ally Pally show last month.

I wanted something to show off lots of the latest stamps and quotes, which have been so popular!

My accordion cards features stamps from all these sets:

How I created it:

I used PaperArtsy Fresco paints.

and brayered a background onto 2 A4 sheets of card as I wanted to make 2 masterboards to cut up.

I used these colours of Archival ink

and randomly stamped over the sheets using all the image sets. Here is one of the sheets in progress

I then die cut my accordion card

>

and stamped the 4 World needs art sentiments, 1 on each panel.

I also added some stamps which I yellow embossed

and also stamped and cut out a few images.

I then put everything together…

and some close ups…

After I finished off my card I had some off-cuts. I had a flash of inspiration that I could use them to made Artist trading coins, which I did…

These were all packed ready for taking to the show when I had one last idea. If I attached a badge back to them I could turn them into badges for Helen, Mark and myself to wear at the show!

I quickly ordered some on line and hey presto, one of a kind badges!

which Mark, Helen and I wore at the show!

I really had a lovely day and thoroughly enjoyed demoing and meeting so many lovely crafters, new and seasoned!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Back soon.
Bye for now,

Jane x

You Are Loved | Valentine Card

Hello! We hope you had a great weekend! We were busy in the garden making the most of a rain free Sunday. Sharon Traynor is here to inspire you today with a romantic gift set featuring some clever designing with our really cool jumbled letters stamp and ‘You Are Loved’ sentiment…

This week I have a whole gift set made with the fantastic ‘One Kind Word‘ stamp set.

jumbled letters - stamp - typewriter - you are loved

Now I’m not one of those people that really ‘does’ Valentines day, but when I spotted a neat little positioning trick to make a heart shape out of this text stamp…

I just couldn’t stop myself from going crazy and making a whole coordinating gift set for Valentines day!

So, I made a matching card and envelope with some wrapping paper and a coordinating gift tag

valentine card - typewriter stamp

handmade stamped wrapping paper

I really love how pretty this set looks.

And it is so easy to create these too, once you see how to make the heart shape, which actually is incredibly simple to do!

Just stamp the image once Then rotate and stamp again. (The black lines in the second photo below shows the side of the stamp that I rotated and how it matched up to the first stamped image). Easy peasy!

valentine card - jumbled letters - typerwriter - stamps

To make the card, I stamped the typewriter and the sentiment in black ink, then stamped the heart (using the method  in the photos above) over the typewriter in a pink ink.

The smallest heart from the stamp set was stamped a few times around the border and a little doodling added before mounting onto coordinating pink and black paper, and then affixing to a card blank.

On the envelope flap I stamped the heart shape again and added the ‘You Are Loved’ sentiment.

The wrapping paper was made by sticking some sheets of printer paper together and stamping the heart shape in a repeating pattern all over the paper.

The sentiment was stamped into the middle of the hearts on one row, missing the next row and stamping it again in the hearts of the row underneath, continuing like that on each alternate row until the last row on the paper. Then a smaller heart was stamped into some of the gaps in a regular pattern across the paper.

The gift tag was made by heat embossing onto black paper and fussy cutting out into a heart shape. That was then attached to white card and fussy cut to make to give a white border, and the back of the tag would then be easy to write on. An eyelet was added and the tag attached to the present with black ribbon and a few pink flowers to match.

Stamps Used:

typewriter stamp - you are loved - jumbled letters

Other Supplies:

Versafine onxy black ink, Versacolor 33 pink ink, Versamark clear ink, WOW! opaque bright white embossing powder, Black micron pen, misti stamping tool, printer paper, black ribbon, pink flowers, black & pink paper and white card.

I do hope you like this set and that you will pop by again soon.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

These are so pretty Sharon! You’re the first to spot that the jumbled letters will make a heart ♡

Inspiring Words Stamps for 2019

Hello and Happy New Year to You! We are excited to be back after a good break and today kicks off another year of amazing inspiration from our wonderful team. Jane is here with some inspiring words stamps on a gorgeous wall hanging…

Good morning it’s time to get back to “normal” after all the excitement and celebrations of Christmas and the new year. The Visible Image team have all been on a break but today I’m delighted to be kicking off with the first Design team inspiration post of 2019.

I do love the new year…. I never make resolutions but I do think it’s a good time to take stock of our views and hopes in life. I love the inspiring words that Helen writes which Mark turns into amazing stamps which I can incorporate into my crafting.

I decided to use the words from Voices in your Head to create an inspirational wall hanging for the year.

I made some backgrounds with my small Gelli plate (lucky me got an 8″ by 10″ one from Santa so watch out for more larger projects using this).

I used some DecoArt media acrylics and stamps from the Visometry set

the Universal background stamps

and also the Two Tone stencil to pull some prints

I made a whole batch of prints

and selected 3 to make into ATCs.

I gold embossed the words and added some more patterns with gold ink using universal. Sorry the photos are a little dark, there is so little daylight this time of the year when I am crafting inside.

For the wall hanging I used some corrugated card on mount board. I exposed some of the core and added paints and crackle paint. Once dry I rubbed on some Treasure gold. I attached some string using my mini stapler.

I also stamped the year using the numbers from Alphabetical onto scraps of gelli prints and mounted them on card.

So here is my finished wall hanging..

Our Christmas/Winter challenge on Facebook runs until the end of January so you still have a whole month to make something and be in with a chance of winning the £40 voucher to spend on some gorgeous new stamps or stencils! The winner is selected by random so everyone has an equal winning chance.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the kind comments you take the time to leave. There are lots of exciting Visible Image newbies in the pipeline, and I am so looking forward to designing with them! An exciting year is ahead and I am going to try to remember these inspiring words during 2019.

Back soon.

Bye for now,

Time for The Next Chapter

Hi there! Lisa Taggart is here on the blog today with an amazing card featuring our ‘One Kind Word’ stamp set which includes a fantastic typewriter stamp with different greetings which fit on the paper…

hello - typewriter - stamp - card

These are the main products used:

typewriter stamp - rubber - clear

I used watercolour card. The background was created using inktense blocks. The colour was brushed on with a large brush and blended. The block colour along with white for the top was sponged through the stencil using the square part.

The typewriter stamp was stamped and heat embossed in black on to white card and cut out.

The letters and hearts were stamped in teal ink (first and second generation ink). The centre letters were highlighted using a black posca pen and then black and gold ink splatters added. The main image was added below raised on foam pads. The sentiments were added.

Typewriter Stamp | Greeting Card

Hi there! We have so much wonderful inspiration to share with you, so let’s get started!! Sharon Traynor has created an incredible card featuring the typewriter stamp from our ‘One Kind Word’ set…

I love crafting! Don’t you?

For me, it gives me such a great excuse just to play with colour and any bits and pieces that I can lay my hands on in my craft room. So this week I’ve been playing with some more fabulous Visible Image stamps,  brushos, stamping on brushos and creating a distressed look with some embossing glitter – and by that I mean that the glittery elements are not solid but more patchy.

typewriter stamp | greeting card

These brusho colours make such an interesting background for the brilliant typewriter, don’t they? And the loopy border at the top makes it look like the background has been ripped out of a spiral bound notebook too.

It’s been a little hard to capture the glittery elements in the photos, but if you click on the photos and look at them when they are larger you should be able to see bits of the glitter embossing.

So how did I make this?

First, wet the water colour card and sprinkle a tiny bit of brushos on. If the brushos don’t move enough, use the smallest amount of sprayed water to help them along. Dry with a heat tool.

Stamp the ‘cracks’ in distress ink and emboss with embossing glitter. The large cracks were stamped with salty ocean then heat embossed  with clear multi sparkle embossing glitter. The small cracks were stamped with antique linen and heat embossed with clear sparkle embossing glitter.

Stamp the typewriter with black ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Mask each word in the sentiment separately and stamp onto the typewriter paper part with black ink then clear emboss.

Fussy cut the typewriter image.

Stamp the word ‘incredible’ with salty ocean distress oxide onto a scrap piece of card and heat emboss with clear sparkle embossing glitter.

Punch out a loopy border and attach it to the top of the brusho piece of card.

Cut pieces of blue glitter card to fit as mats for the brusho background and the ‘incredible’ sentiment, and then back these and the  typewriter with fun foam.

TIP: cut the middle of the glitter card mat for the background so that the foam on the back of that piece can be adhered directly onto the card blank.

Glue the large blue mat and background to the card blank, attach the brusho piece on top (so that the glue/tape runner sticks into the gutted piece and directly onto the card blank.

Attach the typewriter, then the blue mat for the sentiment, and finally the sentiment.

Draw a random dot/dash pattern around the main image panel and the sentiment.

Stamps Used:

Other Supplies:

Papermill Direct white hopsack card, brushos (cobalt blue, orange), distress spritzer, distress oxides (salty ocean, antique linen), WOW! embossing glitters (clear sparkle, clear multi sparkle), Versafine onyx black ink, Ranger superfine clear embossing powder, fun foam, blue pen, border punch (an old Martha Stewart one).

Hugs,
Sharon xx

You Are Not Alone

Good Evening! This week is flying by, can’t believe it will be Friday tomorrow! We have the lovely Veerle Moreels on the blog this evening with a gorgeous tag featuring our ‘you are not alone’ stamp…

Hello!

Sometimes you see a set and you just fall in love. Well this ‘You Are Not Alone’ set is one of them.  Sometimes it’s so easy to explain and sometimes it’s not, it’s a feeling that a set gives you and that’s exactly what’s going on with this set.

hand stamp - visible image

I love the hands and love the words, they will make perfect cards to give some support to anyone in need of it. But they have so many more possibilities. For today’s project I chose to make a supportive tag…

And yes, that’s a little bit of gold on my butterfly ^.^

you are not alone - sentiment stamp

And yes,  I had some fun burning holes in my tag ^.^

Here’s the tag in it’s full glory.  But you could easily make it in a card’s version, and choose to make it in a color. Or just give the butterfly a color instead of the golden accent I chose for this tag…

Time To Write The Next Chapter

Hello! We hope Monday has been kind to you! We are so excited to share lots of gorgeous inspiration created with our brand new stamps and stencils this week! Release date isn’t far away now… just a few more days! We have been really busy shipping orders off to stockists all around the world today, so keep an eye out in your local store or favourite online retailer over the next week! Today’s inspiration comes from Jane Tyrrell and features our (already) incredibly popular ‘One Kind Word’ stamp set, which includes a brilliant typewriter stamp and so much more…

Good Evening

It’s the 1st of October and a Monday so of course that means it’s my day for sharing my Monday Design Team make for Visible Image.

Today I am sharing for the first time a card I made using the brilliant One Kind Word set.

typewriter stamp - time to write the next chapter

Now don’t tell anyone, but this is my favourite. I have honestly been looking for a vintage typewriter stamp where I could actually stamp words on the paper for years. Well now I can. It is such a clever set and I am sure is going to be a best seller. It works for so many occasions and for card making, journalling etc etc.

I had a lovely Friday and Saturday creating in my garden studio. There was wall to wall blue skies and sunshine and I loved being outside. I have noticed the signs of autumn though all around me.

.

We are starting a new challenge today over on our Visible Image Facebook group. The theme is “Autumn Colours”. So dig out your brown, yellow, orange, gold, mauve, red and other autumnal colours and your Visible Image stamps/stencils. We would love for your to join in! The winner is randomly selected so whether you are a novice or experienced stamper you have a chance of winning the £40 voucher to spend over in the shop.

My card was made in shades of browns to hopefully give some inspiration for our new “autumn colours” challenge, I also wanted to create a vintage feel to it.

I was very taken by one of the 2 sentiments in this set “time to write a new chapter” and I had a light bulb moment when I was sitting in my studio. I had decided to include my much used vintage book pages from “A tale of 2 cities” donated by my Hb.

As I was thinking of how I would use them in my design I thought that I could actually find a page that was the end of a chapter, ready to start a new one. I found a suitable page and stamped the sentiment and the letters flourish in brown ink. I also cut out the paper part and stamped the words, “You are loved” in brown ink. I put some foam under the top of this and glued down the base to add some dimension.

I made a “book” with my vintage book pages and aged them using vintage photo distress ink plus a little tearing and peeling here and there.

I stamped, embossed and fussy cut out my typewriter and stamped the small and large hearts and matted up my card.

Here it is..

typewriter stamp - card - new job - visible image stamps

With a couple of close ups..

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a very happy October, the year is just racing by now.

Back soon.

Bye for now,

Jane x

a touch – a feeling – a heartbeat

Good Evening! We are back with more NEW stamps inspiration today! Pauline Butcher has got her hands on our amazing new hands stamps. This stamp set has such a powerful message, and Pauline has portrayed it brilliantly in her amazing card…

Hello,

It’s time for me to share a card I’ve made using some awesome Visible Image products.

This week, I’ve used another of the brand new stamp sets, along with a new ‘must have’ stencil.

hand stamps - a touch - a feeling - a heartbeat

My background was achieved using Ink Sprays on Shaving foam. I made a circular design, before taking my print. When it was dry, I stamped the hands from the You are not Alone’ stamp set, using a Versafine Black Ink pad. I decided that they didn’t show up enough, so I stamped them again onto a piece of white card, coloured them using Clean Color watercolour brush pens, and fussy cut them.

a touch - a feeling - a heartbeat

Before adding the cut out hands to my background, I stamped the fabulous circles, making sure the smaller one contained the ends of the fingers. I took the sentiments one by one, and gently bent them on my stamping block, to coincide with the circle marks (made by the shaving foam), and stamped them in black, highlighting them with a white pen.

I felt the two opposite corners needed something, so I used dotty side of the very useful new stencil called Two Tone, and blended through it with pink and yellow Distress Inks. The final touch was to add the hands with Pinflair 3D glue gel, and added some glitter to the circles in the middle.

Late Summer Moments

Hi there! We have more stunning inspiration from Jane Tyrrell here on the blog today, featuring our dragonfly stamps and live in the moment sentiment…

Good Evening, we are actually enjoying some late summer sunshine in the South of England but the evenings are drawing in and the sun is less high in the sky each day. The sunsets seem deeper and more intense at this time of the year.

I have used this as inspiration for my Design Team make for Visible Image.

I got out some alcohol ink and yupo and made this background.

I worked with 2 stamp sets; Live in the Moment

and Into the Woods

I stamped the large and medium dragonflies onto card and added some pink and red Wink of Stella for some sparkle. I cut out just the wings.

I also stamped all the dragonflies onto my card base

I then added 2 layers of into the woods, one on acetate to add depth to my card. I also added the extra wings.

Some close ups..

One last shot..

Thanks for stopping by today, remember to try to “live in the moment” as life really does flash by and we need to savour being in the here and now.

Back soon.

Bye for now,
Jane x

You Are Not Alone..

Hello and Happy Monday to you! We are really excited to have launched 6 awesome new stamp sets and 3 brilliant new stencils today!

Available to pre-order now!

Visible Image - October Release 2018 - NEW stamps and stencils

RELEASE DATE: OCTOBER 5TH

The most exciting part of any release is seeing the very first samples created with them, and today we have been wowed by Jane Tyrrell’s first card, featuring our ‘You Are Not Alone’ stamp set which includes our amazing reaching hands stamps and some really inspiring words. Over to Jane…

Good Morning, I am delighted to be sharing the first sample using one of the brand new October release stamp sets:

reaching hands stamps - you are not alone sentiment - visible image

Inspired by the changing blue sky of Rhodes, I made 2 cards which I called Night and Day. Today I am sharing “Night”, I will share “Day” another time.

I made an blue oxide background on black card. I thought the hands are like those of the legends of the Greek gods making mischief from the heavens to the ancient Greeks below them on earth…. perhaps even on Rhodes thousands of year ago. I studied classical civilizations at both O and A level at school and loved the stories of the Odyssey and Iliad.

Here are some close ups…

The reaching hands stamps are so detailed and the circles and sentiments are fun to play with.

I used gold ink to stamp the circles, to me they represent the sunshine and in this vast universe I am pretty certain that we are not alone.

One more shot, I edged the card with gold ink which you can just see in this photo.

Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments. I am off to see some autumnal splendor in Surrey today as I am meeting my crafting buddy Brenda Brown for a day out at Wisley RHS Gardens. The sun is forecast to make an appearance, I have my camera packed!

Bye for now,

Jane x

Brighten The World

Hi there! Lisa Taggart is here on the blog to brighten the world with a stunning card created with our ‘Into The Woods’ stamps with our ‘Vivid Colours’ quote…

I’ve got some beautiful Visible Image stamps today, and a scene that is surprisingly easy to create. All you need are your Spectrum Noir sparkle pens in sunset colours, some torn copy paper and of course your ‘Into The Woods’ stamp set and the lovely sentiment!

Here’s how it looks:

brighten the world - sunset scene - card - Visible Image stamps

Here are the products:

forest stamps - tree stamp - visible image

let your vivid colours brighten the world - quote stamp

To create the background I sprayed some water colour card with water. I squeezed some colour from the pens on to my craft mat – blues, purple, pink, orange and yellow. Using a paint brush and water I laid down the colours and let them bleed together (wet on wet). When dry, I inked against a piece of roughly torn copy paper using grey versa fine ink. I stamped the focal image and owl in black and, using parts of the tree stamps, I stamped around the edges and on top of the torn paper (black at the front and 2nd and third generation ink to create dimension). The sentiment was then added and the picture mounted on to complimentary card.

Love Unconditionally

Hi there! We have more gorgeous Design Team inspiration to share with you this evening. Veerle Moreels has a fantastic video for you, showing how she created this beautiful tag featuring our cracked glass stamp…

Love… with all of your heart. Love… unconditionally. Because before you know it, your chance of being able to give your love can be over and all you can do is look at the stars.

Never thought that this video, which I made a couple of weeks ago, would make so much sense today. The feeling I had weeks ago, having me make this one, stands so much stronger after the past week.

Enjoy the video…

Lots of love, from me to you.
