Heart Plaque | Equality Sentiment Stamp

Hi there! We hope you had a lovely weekend, doesn’t Monday come around quickly! It’s the longest day of summer today (although we haven’t seen any sunshine here in Wales today), but Jane is here with a wonderfully vibrant heart plaque to brighten the day, and also celebrate PRIDE with fabulous rainbow inks and our Equality sentiment stamp.

Good Afternoon

As June is Pride month I could not let the month pass by without making something to celebrate this most important annual event. I decided to make a mixed media heart plaque. Equality in this world for everyone is so very important, so the Equality Hope + Love stamp set below seemed perfect to use. I love this definition of the word Equality.

equality hope love kindness | sentiment stamps | clear | rubber

I also wanted to share some love so I also used the gorgeous grungy heart from the Follow Your Heart stamp set

grunge heart stamp | love you | sentiment stamp | clear | rubber

and I added some background stamping using the uber useful Grunge Tones stamps

grunge background stamps | dots | circles | two tone | clear | rubber

This is what I got up to;

I used an MDF heart from my stash and painted it with gesso.

Using yellow acrylic paint and one of the grunge tones stamps I repeat stamped all over.

I repeated this using the other stamps in the set using red and blue paints.  Do remember to wash your stamps immediately after using paint.

I stamped out the equality sentiment from Equality, Hope and Love, cut it up and matted it onto red card.

I then cut out a smaller heart shape from card by hand and coloured it using a rainbow of distress inks.

I then stamped the Follow Your Heart in the centre and clear embossed it, adding some white pen and then added some more grunge tones stamping around the edge.

Here is the finished plaque with its gorgeous rainbow ribbon.

A couple of close ups where you can see I added some glossy accents to the bubbles, and decoupaged a couple of the elements in this lovely heart stamp.

Butterfly Canvas | Rainbow Distress Inks

Hi there! We are back with more fabulous new stamps inspiration today! Jane has made an incredible butterfly canvas with the gorgeous butterflies, grunge elements and sentiment stamps from our BUTTERFLY EFFECT set with a wonderful dripped rainbow of inks…

Hello, I am super excited today as I reveal my first make with one of the brand new A5 stamp sets!

For my first sample I used the gorgeous ‘Butterfly Effect’ set.

large butterfly stamp | grunge circles | bubbles | change sentiments

To showcase it I made a canvas and, as I could not decide which colours to use, I went for them all….a rainbow of butterflies!

This is what I got up to;

I took my distress spray stains and sprayed across an A4 sheet of watercolour paper, adding water and allowing plenty of drippage.

rainbow dripped distress ink spray stains

I then stamped around the edges with the “collage” element stamps which are really gorgeous in this set. There is a butterfly flourish (seen in the final photos) and these lovely circles.

I stamped the large butterfly, coloured it with zig markers and cut it out minus the antenna.

I stamped out 9 small butterflies and cut them out in the same way. I coloured them in a shades of 1 or 2 colours.

I also stamped the sentiments and matted them on black card, adding my signature glossy accents to the circles/bubbles. Finally I adhered it to mount board. It is A4 size and destined for my little granddaughter who adores all things butterflies and spotted this!

Here it is;

This set will be going onto my all time favourite stamps set list (yes I know this list constantly grows  but this really is a real stunner of a set).

Where Flowers Bloom | Flower Stamps

Hello! We are excited to start sharing more of the gorgeous inspiration made with our new stamps. Lynda has made a fantastic gardener’s journal using our WHERE FLOWERS BLOOM flower stamps…

Today I’m sharing my first inspiration piece with one of the brand new stamp sets, called ‘Where Flowers Bloom’. It’s a gorgeous floral stamp set with the inky, creative edge that Visible Image are known for.

I decided to create a gardeners journal, using an Eileen Hull Sizzix journal die. I used grey board from the back of used paper pads as my substrate and applied a coat of white gesso before applying layers of acrylic paint with a brayer.

I stamped the main flower first using my stamping platform, and embossed. I repeated this a couple of times until I was happy with the depth and colour of the embossing powder.

I then stamped the other flower and background stamps randomly over the rest of the cover and painted the open flowers with acrylic ink.

I wanted to add some embellishments to the spine, so I also stamped onto shrink plastic, painted then heated. I love doing this- it’s like watching magic happen before my eyes!

How cute are they?! They finish it off perfectly I think.

Supplies

This is amazing! The texture is gorgeous and the large flower looks wonderful embossed in black against the gorgeous yellows and greens! Those shrink plastic flowers are so cute! Thank you Lynda ♡

Sometimes Life Just Sucks | Canvas

Hello and happy weekend to you! Lynda is here on the blog today with a stunning mixed media canvas, featuring our ‘sometimes life just sucks’ sentiment with our Daisy and smashed vase stamps…

Today’s project is a mixed media canvas, featuring the stunning ‘Break Free’ stamp set as the main focal point. This was so much fun to make!

sometimes life just sucks stamp | mixed media canvas | daisy

I started with a piece on thick backing board recycled from a paper pad. I adhered corrugated cardboard and used the ‘Ink Swirls’ stencil and texture paste for my base layer.

Once the texture paste was dry, I applied generous smatterings of Izink sand texture paste and left to air dry.

The next stage was to cover with gesso and again. leave to dry ( I am SO impatient when it comes to things drying so these steps were very frustrating for me haha!)

Then came the fun part! I set to work with a combination of spray paints and distress oxide sprays.

They reacted beautifully together and just look at that texture!

Once the paint was dry ( yes, more drying!!) , I used the fabulous new ‘Grunge Tones’ stamps with white paint to add more texture, and added paint splatters with a fan brush.

I used the ‘Break Free’ stamp set, embossed in white, on an inky mop up sheet I had to hand, and fussy cut. I added more texture by mounting it on top of some sisal. I just love the natural fibres for creating interest.

I added the sentiment from the ‘Lost for Words’ set and layered on black card to finish.

Supplies

sentiment stamps | card making | clear photopolymer

grunge background stamps | dots | circles

Wow that texture is incredible! Stunning colours and wonderful layers! Thank you Lynda ♡

Gill’s gorgeous cards and mixed media projects with fabulous inky backgrounds really caught our eye ♡

Daisy stencil | canvas | stamping | grungy butterflies | kindness

Gill made her fantastic background with acrylic paints and tissue paper then added more texture by randomly stamping our GRUNGE TONES stamps using rose, yellow and green inks. Next Gill added more interest by inking through our WORDS OF SUPPORT stencil. To create the gorgeous flowers Gill used our DAISY DAISY stencil as a template, painted the petals with white acrylic paint, then coated them with Starlights metallic paint in ‘clotted cream’. The centres were painted to co-ordinate with the bright oranges and yellows in the background, and gold paint was stippled to create the stamen. The grungy butterflies from our WINGS OF CHANGE set were stamped with Versafine Clair ink onto smooshed inky backgrounds made with ‘scattered straw’ and ‘worn lipstick’ distress oxide inks. The sentiments were stamped and then clear embossed, and Gill finished by hand drawing doodled frames around the sentiments and canvas edges using a black fine liner pen.

Fearless Tiger Stamp Set | Canvas

Hi there! We are very excited to be sharing the very first samples created with our new stamps over the next few days! Jane couldn’t wait to get her hands on our FEARLESS TIGER stamp and has created some incredible inspiration…

Hello, this is a very exciting post as I can reveal my first make with the brand new Visible Image March release!

I decided to make canvas/wall hanging to showcase the gorgeous Fearless Tiger.

tiger stamp | mixed media canvas

There are lots of photos ahead to share my process.

Here we go

I had the idea to have my tiger hiding in the jungle undergrowth so first I wanted to make some jungle foiliage. I drew some leaf shapes on white card and cut them out. I made some distress ink backgrounds and cut out my leaves using the shapes as a template

I then used the Grunge tones to make them more realistic, adding depth and texture

I also added depth by moulding them with my ball ended tool

I stamped my tiger onto an alcohol ink background and a distress ink one, you will see why in a moment

My plan was to have the tiger emerging from the jungle so I cut into the distress ink one leaving the ears and some of the outline behind. I cut into these to make “tabs” which I pulled forwards

I added some ink and the grunge dots again to both the folded back tabs and the background

I stuck the alcohol inked tiger in place and decoupaged his ears so that they stuck through the aperture

It was then time to add the foliage

and finally the sentiment which I matted with black card

Supplies

Grunge Background Stamps | Two Tone | Circles

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Bye for now,

Grungy Heart Stamp | Mixed Media

Hi there! We are back with more gorgeous inspiration today, spreading some LOVE! Ericka has embossed the amazing grungy heart stamp from our FOLLOW YOUR HEART set to create a stunning mixed media card…

Happy Monday! Today I’m playing with the Visible Image Follow Your Heart Stamp Set for a colourful Valentines Day Card.

I love this set and for my card paired it with a background I made previously using a brayer and paints in my stash.

I then used the Visible Image Ripples Stencil with texture paste and sprinkled WOW! Embossing powders from the Trio ‘Pick Me Up’ set.
