Open Your Mind | Owl Stamp

Hello! We have stempelfrida here on the blog today with a brilliant card featuring our NEW ‘Night Owl’ stamp teamed up with an inspiring sentiment from our Autumn release…

owl card | handmade | stamps | Visible Image | stempelfrida

Today I have a card with the beautiful owl from the autumn release of Visible Image for you. The card is quite wintry by the background, but the temperatures here in Germany are already around 0°C.

Just this morning I saw a very emotional message by a craft friend who said that she was overwhelmed by the many things she felt committed to, but now decided not to catch up, but move forward from now on. I think, this hits all crafters at some point that they are overwhelmed by the things that you think are expected by others. Our hobby should be relaxation and enjoyment. I wish you all that you always have fun crafting.

And if you should fall into a creative hole or you feel overwhelmed by the expectations, I wish you the strength for a new beginning!

I painted the background for my owl with acrylic paints. For the lines at the edges I used a posca pencil and a sacura marker. First I stamped the text with a greyish Distress Oxides colour and embossed it with transparent powder. Then I stamped the text again with Versamark leaving some space to the first impression and embossed it with a dark brown powder. To see it even more clearly, I reinforced some parts with a white marker. I stamped the owl in a brown tone and then coloured it with copics and polychromos. Then I fussy-cut it and attached it to my card with spacer pads.

Face Stamp | Beautiful Soul

Good Evening! We have Ericka Strange here on the blog tonight with 2 incredible cards created with our gorgeous new ‘Beautiful Soul’ face stamp…

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today I’m playing with the new release from Visible Image called Beautiful Soul. I love this set and the beautiful words it contains.

reddwonwsp

I started by stamping the image on Bristol Smooth paper and gold heat embossing it.  My oldest daughter saw me making it and asked if I could use red on her hair and make the middle yellow. So I took out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and used a variety of pink and reds to color her hair as well as yellows for the middle.

redstart

Once I was finished I used a sparkle pen on the hair to give it a little more shine. For the background, I blended Antique Linen Distress Oxide and a light Black soot on the edges. I heat embossed the sentiments in gold and added some sequins for some extra shine.

redcloseup

I love this set so much that I had to make one with blue hair as well.

blucardwwater

I made this similarly to the one above. I used Bristol Smooth paper and heat embossed it with Silver. My youngest daughter, whose name is Elsa, saw the first card and wanted me to make her one, thus the “Let it Go” look.

I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens to color her hair and decided to add a little sparkly silver embossing to the middle of her hair. I then added some silver sequins I had in my stash to give her a more regal winter look.

bluesqcloseup

I finished by stamping the “Let it Go” with a Concord & 9th set Perfectly Penned and then used the other sentiments in the Visible Image set to add to her.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Get Up | Dress Up | Face Stamp

Hello! We have Sharon Traynor here on the blog this evening with a fabulous card featuring our NEW ‘Beautiful Soul’ face stamp with our ‘Never Give Up’ sentiment…

Happy Monday!

I have some no-line colouring of a gorgeous image from the BRAND NEW RELEASE by Visible Image. She is an absolute dream to colour, if you like colouring, and she comes with so many gorgeous words too. The sentiment on this card is from a new set too.

Here’s how I made this DL card.

Take some Strathmore Toned Grey sketch paper and stamp the image onto it using a light grey ink.

I started with the face. Using some polychromos pencils and a very light touch I started to colour, adding white to the areas I wanted a highlight first (because you can’t really add a highlight afterwards). Then I added more colour moving from light to dark, adding a little blue to the darker parts.  I wanted to retain the look of hand colouring so the pencil strokes have not been completely blended in. I am still learning how to colour like this so I knew it wouldn’t be perfect, but I like the finished result.

polychromos pencils - face stamp

Next colour the hair. I used 3 colours for the hair, adding low-lights with the dark colour and highlights with the lighter colour.  Making sure the highlights don’t line up over every strand gives it a more natural look.

To finish the card I stamped a sentiment and some of the words along the edge, then doodled a border in between the stamped words with a black pen.

Stamps Used:

face stamp | beautiful soul | visible image

heartfelt sentiment stamps | visible image

Other Supplies:

Strathmore toned grey sketch paper, Memento london fog ink, Polychromos (101 white, 102 cream, 126 permanent carmine, 130 dark flesh, 131 medium flesh, 132 light flesh, 151 helio-blue reddish, 183 light yellow ochre, 187 burnt ochre, 283 burnt sienna), Versafine onyx black, stamping platform, black micron pen.

That’s it from me for now. Thanks for stopping by and I really hope to see you again soon.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

Life Can Be Tough | Face Stamps

Hello! We hope you are having a great weekend! Stempelfrida is here on the blog today with a gorgeous card featuring our face stamps, with a sentiment from our NEW ‘Brave and Strong’ stamp set…

I am mega enthusiastic about the new words of the Visible Image Autumn release, and today I have combined an older set with “Life can be tough but my darling so are you”. Whoa!!!! What a wonderful source of inspiration for my card.

You may not believe it, which of the card was a challenge, but it is the face. First, how do I want the proportions? Because the eye stamp with the eyebrow and the mouth stamp, on which the nose is only indicated, are two stamps. Without having drawn anything from my face, it was not so easy for me to decide how big the distance should be. And then, of course, there’s the colouration. And there is almost nothing of the facial contour after stamping. Of course this offers you a white canvas for your artistic freedom. It was faszinating to see the woman under the pencils emerge. The colouration is done with copics and polychromos. The zipper is also coloured with copics and glued on the cut out face. I designed my background with acrylic paints.

Polychromos 189, 131, 146, 120, 151, 199

Entwined Butterflies | Stencil

Good Evening, we have the very fabulous Ericka Strange here to inspire you this evening with a beautiful card featuring our entwined butterflies stencil with a gorgeous sentiment…

Happy Monday! Its been a little gloomy here lately so I thought I’d brighten things up in the craft room with this Visible Image Entwined Butterflies stencil and Distress Oxides.

I love Distress Oxide blending on Bristol Smooth paper because it is so easy to get a nicely blended background. For this quick card I used Distress Oxide in Squeezed Lemonade, Lucky Clover, Peacock Feathers, and Wilted Violet.

stencilblending

Once the blending was done, I let it dry a bit so that I could heat embossed my sentiment without it sticking all over. I love this So Much Stronger Sentiment set from Visible Image and the fonts are so pretty.

closeup

I stamped the sentiment in Versafine ink and heat embossed it. To finish the card I used some Black Nuvo Drops.

Through The Storm | Handmade Card

Hello! Guest Designer Lynda Hall is here on the blog today with a gorgeous card featuring one of our newer sentiments, written by Helen, called ‘You’ll get through this storm’…

Wow it’s just come across really stormy here in Hampshire this afternoon and the heavens have opened. A perfect moment to be sharing this card for Visible Image.

you'll get through this storm - card

I created this from a mop up card that I had from a previous project, using Amsterdam acrylic ink. The combination of blues and greys just screamed ‘sea’ to me.

I used the ‘strobes’ stencil and swiped some gesso through it to give a white base for some rays of sunshine.

I swiped yellow and orange paint over the top when dry, and stamped and heat embossed the sun from the ‘Look Forward With Hope’ set in the centre.

I stamped some clouds from the same set, and painted with acrylic ink. For this I used my stamping platform, as once I had painted I wanted to re stamp the detail over the top.

I added some waves with paint to create the stormy sea.

The final step was to stamp the sentiment  and fussy cut some paper boats from the ‘Destination Unknown’ set and pop them in the sea to bob about.

I added the rest of the sentiment inside the card.

inspiring quote stamp

As if by magic as I uploaded the final image here , the rain stopped, the clouds lifted and the sun came out. How bizare is that!

Products Used:

strobes - rays - stencil

hope - sentiment stamps - inspiring words

paper boats - stamps - planes - destination - journey

I’ll be back soon with more Visible Image inspiration for you.

Lynda

We adore this card.. you have interpreted the sentiment so perfectly Lynda. Your stormy seas look amazing and the rays of sunshine are stunning! Thank you ♡

Live Like Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist | Card

Hello! Thank you for coming to visit us here on the blog today. Stempelfrida is here to inspire you today with a fabulous card reminding us all to…

live like tomorrow doesn´t exist!

live like tomorrow doesn't exist - card

Nowadays this saying can be seen from two sides. First of all, I think it’s the good thoughts that come to mind: Enjoy every day!

But of course there is also the other side: What if there is no tomorrow, because we simply live without worrying about the future?

You usually don’t know me so deeply here on my blog, but when I used this saying on my card, these thoughts about ambiguity came to my mind.

There are so many things each of us can do every day to spare and care for our world and not harm it. Respect nature! Save resources! Avoid garbage! For example, you can use reusable nets for fruits and vegetables, baskets and fabric bags instead of plastic bags when shopping. Think about how you can contribute to tomorrow!

But since I am a very positive person, I like the other interpretation of this saying much better: Live as if there were no tomorrow! Always remember to enjoy your day. With all your senses and in every minute.  Be good to yourself! Surround yourself with people, who make you feel good.

At first I stamped the butterflies with Memento and coloured them with Copics. Then I added a layer of Crackle Glossy Accents to them. The picture shows them while they are still wet, so there are no crackles yet. The crackles appear when the surface it completely dry.

I made my background with a round gelly plate, the fibres stencil from Visible Image and acrylic paint. I matted the background on a turquoise card and drew the black frame to match the word pieces. I had stamped the pieces themselves with Memento and coloured them wirh Copics as well. I rounded the wings of the butterflies to give them a nice shape and added everything with spacer pads to the card.

Stamps & Stencil Used:

Live Like Tomorrow Doesn't Exist - Stamp

Butterfly stamp - grunge - grungy

fibres - string - stencil

Other Supplies:

Stamp pad: Memento tuxedo black
Copics 0, B01, B04, B16, B39, RV11, RV19, RV34, RV69

Ranger Crackle Accents

We adore this card! It’s so bright and happy. Your earth looks fantastic, such a great way to use this stencil! Our butterflies look fabulous with the crackle.

Thank you for your gorgeous inspiration Stempelfrida! ♡

Look Forward With Hope | Handmade Card

Hello! Sorry we have neglected our blog lately, the last few weeks have been a challenge as I (Helen) had a nasty fall and have been in quite a lot of pain. So… as we have lots of inspiration to catch up with here on the blog, we are planning lots of posts over the next few days sharing the latest cards and projects from our fabulous Design Team and our wonderful guest designers! Jane Tyrrell is kicking things off with a gorgeous card that would brighten anyone’s spirits, it has definitely brightened mine! As I have now started a programme of physiotherapy, I will look forward with hope to being pain free again! Over to Jane…

Good Evening,

Today I have used one of the 3 lovely new sentiment sets. This one is called Look Forward with Hope. So many really positive sentiments, suitable for all occasions.

positive - quote - stamps - sentiment - rubber

I decided I wanted to make a seaside feel card. I added some distress oxides to speciality stamping card and then added some “sea” using paints.

I then added fossilized amber distress oxide ink through the Strobes stencil

rays - strobes - stencil

I decided I wanted more texture so I added texture paste through the strobes stencil in the same area. When dry I found that the sunshine in the set fitted perfectly inside. I also added some Glossy accents to the sun which you can see in the final photos.

I stamped some of the clouds directly onto the crackle and others I stamped onto card and fussy cut out.

I then stamped and coloured one of the sweet dolphins from the Mythical Mermaid stamp set

mermaid stamp

and fussy cut him out. I added a little sheen with Spectrum Noir sparkle.

I also stamped some waves using the stamp in the mermaid set. I then stamped the ‘don’t look back’ sentiment from the set, added the dolphin, a little white ink highlighting and my card was finished..

look forward - hope - card - rubber stamp

A couple of close ups…

And one final shot.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Back soon.

Bye for now,

Just Smile | Vibrant Card | Inky Flower Stamp

Hello! We are thrilled to welcome Ericka Strange to the blog with her first post as a Guest Designer! Ericka has created an absolutely stunning card with the beautiful inky flower stamp from our ‘Creative Chaos’ set…

I hope your day is going well, I’m so excited to share my first project as a Guest Designer for Visible Image. Let me just start by saying I’m a huge fan and I love their unique images and awesome sentiments! All the products blend so well together, inspiration is easy to find.

Ok on to my card

mainflower

I love this flower and this stencil is so fun to play with. I started out by blending Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide on Bristol Smooth paper. I added Mustard Seed Distress Oxide along the edge to make it a little darker. I placed the Collision Stencil and then blended Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide on top.

blendingback

I set the panel aside to dry and then stamped the inky flower stamp from Creative Chaos on Copic friendly paper and used RV91, RV63, RV55, and RV66 to color it in. I fussy cut around the flower portion and used a black marker to  color the edges of the image to give it a crisp look. I stamped the flower again on my blended panel in Versafine ink and clear heat embossed it. I wanted to make sure that all the beautiful details of the flower were still on my panel.

fussyflower

I used 3D Zots from Therm-o-web to adhere the flower on top of the stamped image to add dimension to the card. I also added additional stamped images from the Creative Chaos set along the edges using Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide and Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink.

placeflower

I added a sentiment from the So Much Stronger set and white heat embossed it on black cardstock. I love the scripty look and the sentiment is perfect.

sentimentclose

I adhered the sentiment with some foam tape and used clear droplets on the card as an extra embellishment.

Her Spirit Was Strong

Hello! It’s a rainy day here in Wales, so Jane’s latest inspiration is just perfect for today! Featuring our sassy rain lady and Dream Big quote, this card has a fabulous inky feel with a touch of sparkle…

Good Afternoon,

January always seems to be a long month. Christmas seems long ago and spring still seems a long way away.As I walked down to Dotty’s Teahouse in the High Street of Carshalton, I decided to look for some sparkle and shine and even on such a dull, dreary day I spotted some of Mother Nature’s sparkle and shine on the plants;

rain sparkling on the winter aconite..

on the plucky viburnum flowers..

and on new shoots..

So for this week’s design team inspiration, I went with the sparkling rain theme using the fab Sparkle in the Rain stamp set

silhouette - lady - umbrella - stamp

The background is a stencilled ink one using the Grungy Union Jack stencil

grungy - uk flag - stencil - union jack

I added some distress oxides to my card

then stenciled salty ocean and squeezed lemonade oxides through the stencil

These photos are quite dark you will see the true colours in my finished photos.

I stamped the rain in blue Archival ink

and then I added my lady by embossing her in blue and also stamping the quote ‘Dream Big’

dream big - quote - stamp

dream big - card

You can see that I masked and split the words. The top words are stamped and embossed in black, and the unrivalled in green glitter

Our Christmas/Winter challenge on Facebook runs until the end of January, a couple of weeks left to make something and be in with a chance of winning the £40 voucher to spend! The winner is selected by random so everyone has an equal winning chance.

Back soon.

Bye for now,

Don’t Dim Your Light | Visible Image Stamps

Hi there! Pauline Butcher is here to inspire you today with a gorgeous plaque featuring our awesome moth and toadstool stamps, with these really inspiring words… ‘Don’t Dim Your Light’.

Hello and Happy New Year!

Today I’m sharing a new mixed media project I’ve made, using some awesome Visible Image stamps and stencils. The grey board heart is from my stash.

The stamps I’ve used on this project are:

The large circles from Shape it Up

the small circles from The Ripple Effect

the Mushroom from The Caterpillar set

the moth and the light bulbs from Glimmer of Light

and part of the sentiment from Shining Bright

The stencil I have used is called Distorted Chess

I used some Decoart fluid acrylic paint and some Dyna acrylic paints on the heart, building up the background, and then stamping with some of the background stamps. Next I put the stencil on the top, and went through it with gold paste. Using Blue/Black Pebeo Dyna paint, I covered the gold paste, but rubbing back some of it to allow the gold to shine through.

I stamped the mushroom and the light bulbs on to white card, fussy cut them, then coloured them all using watercolour pens.

I stamped the moth onto heat resistant acetate using Versamark, then used Wow Black embossing powder. I coloured the moth on the reverse side, again using the Pebeo Dyna paints, and fussy cut. On a piece of black card, I coated it with the Pebeo Blue/Black paint, then chose the words I wanted to use, stamped them in Versamark, and heat embossed using Wow Florescent Blue.

Thanks for visiting.

Hugs,
Pauline xxxxx

Inspiring Words Stamps for 2019

Hello and Happy New Year to You! We are excited to be back after a good break and today kicks off another year of amazing inspiration from our wonderful team. Jane is here with some inspiring words stamps on a gorgeous wall hanging…

Good morning it’s time to get back to “normal” after all the excitement and celebrations of Christmas and the new year. The Visible Image team have all been on a break but today I’m delighted to be kicking off with the first Design team inspiration post of 2019.

I do love the new year…. I never make resolutions but I do think it’s a good time to take stock of our views and hopes in life. I love the inspiring words that Helen writes which Mark turns into amazing stamps which I can incorporate into my crafting.

I decided to use the words from Voices in your Head to create an inspirational wall hanging for the year.

I made some backgrounds with my small Gelli plate (lucky me got an 8″ by 10″ one from Santa so watch out for more larger projects using this).

I used some DecoArt media acrylics and stamps from the Visometry set

and also the Two Tone stencil to pull some prints

I made a whole batch of prints

and selected 3 to make into ATCs.

I gold embossed the words and added some more patterns with gold ink using universal. Sorry the photos are a little dark, there is so little daylight this time of the year when I am crafting inside.

For the wall hanging I used some corrugated card on mount board. I exposed some of the core and added paints and crackle paint. Once dry I rubbed on some Treasure gold. I attached some string using my mini stapler.

I also stamped the year using the numbers from Alphabetical onto scraps of gelli prints and mounted them on card.

So here is my finished wall hanging..

Our Christmas/Winter challenge on Facebook runs until the end of January so you still have a whole month to make something and be in with a chance of winning the £40 voucher to spend on some gorgeous new stamps or stencils! The winner is selected by random so everyone has an equal winning chance.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the kind comments you take the time to leave. There are lots of exciting Visible Image newbies in the pipeline, and I am so looking forward to designing with them! An exciting year is ahead and I am going to try to remember these inspiring words during 2019.

Back soon.

Bye for now,

No Regrets

Hello! Veere Moreels is here with a video tutorial showing how she made her latest tag featuring our No Regrets sentiment stamp and some gorgeous watercolour effects…

You all know I love words on my projects and today is not different. They even get their own place in the spotlight on today’s project. Visible Image has these beautiful sets with strong words perfect for cards, art journaling and I myself used them on a tag today. I had my own twist on them as I felt like they needed to be torn apart and then joined together again.  Strange? Not in my head 🙂

Well I had the camera rolling for you so enjoy the video ^.^

Skull Stencil – Halloween Crafting

Hi there! Happy Friday! Lisa Taggart is here with some awesome Halloween inspiration today featuring our Skull stencil and ‘Leave Your Fears Behind’ stamps, a perfect combination…

Hello,

I’m here with a Halloween theme using some of my favourites from Visible Image.

skull stencil - halloween card

I’ve used alcohol inks on to heavy yupo paper from Ranger. I’ve stamped using Versa fine ink in onyx black. My ink pad isn’t as juicy as it used to be so it works a little better. I’ve also continued to use an alcohol blending marker and co ordinating colours of my spectrum noir alcohol markers. These are good for highlighting areas and adding extra colour.

The awesome stencil is:

skull stencil

The stamp set is:

leave your fears behind - crow - tree - stamp

I began by laying down the paler colours. I placed the stencil on top and sponged darker inks through. I also sprayed alcohol in places. It gives a great effect.

I went over the edges with black and highlighted parts in white.

I used the black and white again on the tree along with some a light brown marker. I tried to create reflections at the bottom to a water area. I also used part of the stamp to create extra wooded areas.

I love purples and yellow together.

Till next time

Lisa xx

Wow! What an incredible project! The purples and yellows do look so good together and the texture is phenomenal! Our skull stencil looks amazing! Thanks Lisa ♡

I stamped one set of large wings onto acetate and used these to glitter up (you can see this in my final design)

I blended some distress inks onto my tag adding some water flicks

Then I used the Dark Hearts stencil

to add some more black ink

The sentiment was stamped in gold ink

I stamped the smallest moths onto the tag and then layered over some die cut spider webs

I added glossy accents to the light bulb and the medium moths

You Are Not Alone

Good Evening! This week is flying by, can’t believe it will be Friday tomorrow! We have the lovely Veerle Moreels on the blog this evening with a gorgeous tag featuring our ‘you are not alone’ stamp…

Hello!

Sometimes you see a set and you just fall in love. Well this ‘You Are Not Alone’ set is one of them.  Sometimes it’s so easy to explain and sometimes it’s not, it’s a feeling that a set gives you and that’s exactly what’s going on with this set.

hand stamp - visible image

I love the hands and love the words, they will make perfect cards to give some support to anyone in need of it. But they have so many more possibilities. For today’s project I chose to make a supportive tag…

And yes, that’s a little bit of gold on my butterfly ^.^

you are not alone - sentiment stamp

And yes,  I had some fun burning holes in my tag ^.^

Here’s the tag in it’s full glory.  But you could easily make it in a card’s version, and choose to make it in a color. Or just give the butterfly a color instead of the golden accent I chose for this tag…

Write The Next Chapter

Hello! We have Heather Mitchell here on the blog today with an amazing card featuring our awesome new typewriter stamp set which includes two brilliant quotes, and some little greetings that cleverly fit on the paper…

Howdy doody everyone…

All these gorgeous new stamps and stencils from Visible Image have got me rather excited!! I am loving the graphic look to the stencils and know that they are going to be used loads… and the stamps? Well, Mark has pulled his designer hat out of the bag yet again and created some real beauties!!

My make today uses the utterly brilliant One Kind Word stamp set and the Grateful stencil.  So many possibilities with this set and I know both will become firm favourites with everyone.

typewriter stamp - visible image

Really easy make this one. Create a distressed background using a mixture of Distress Ink and Distress Oxide ink pads and spritz with a shimmer spray. To add extra texture, splatter some Antique Bronze Distress Spray Stain and leave to dry.

While drying, ink up the typewriter stamp and stamp twice, fussy cut them both, placing one to the side. With the other, trim around the paper and the bar bit (that holds the paper in place… which I’m sure has a proper name but I have no idea what it is!) and trim a longer piece of paper to fit in the space. Ink all over with a linen coloured ink pad and edge with dark brown.

time to write the next chapter - rubber - clear - stamp

Stamp the letters and splat with the same Distress Spray Stain as before. When dry, feed the paper through the typewriter and attach some tape on the back to secure in place. Take the other stamped typewriter image and attach foam tape to the front. Secure the (now complete) other image over the top.

Before adhering to the background, take the Grateful stencil and mask off various areas to give a random look. Apply red ink through the stencil and then stamp the sentiment to the bottom of the background before attaching the main image. Once in place, curl the corners for added effect and voila!

Here are the two new Visible Image products I used…

Time To Write The Next Chapter

Hello! We hope Monday has been kind to you! We are so excited to share lots of gorgeous inspiration created with our brand new stamps and stencils this week! Release date isn’t far away now… just a few more days! We have been really busy shipping orders off to stockists all around the world today, so keep an eye out in your local store or favourite online retailer over the next week! Today’s inspiration comes from Jane Tyrrell and features our (already) incredibly popular ‘One Kind Word’ stamp set, which includes a brilliant typewriter stamp and so much more…

Good Evening

It’s the 1st of October and a Monday so of course that means it’s my day for sharing my Monday Design Team make for Visible Image.

Today I am sharing for the first time a card I made using the brilliant One Kind Word set.

typewriter stamp - time to write the next chapter

Now don’t tell anyone, but this is my favourite. I have honestly been looking for a vintage typewriter stamp where I could actually stamp words on the paper for years. Well now I can. It is such a clever set and I am sure is going to be a best seller. It works for so many occasions and for card making, journalling etc etc.

I had a lovely Friday and Saturday creating in my garden studio. There was wall to wall blue skies and sunshine and I loved being outside. I have noticed the signs of autumn though all around me.

.

We are starting a new challenge today over on our Visible Image Facebook group. The theme is “Autumn Colours”. So dig out your brown, yellow, orange, gold, mauve, red and other autumnal colours and your Visible Image stamps/stencils. We would love for your to join in! The winner is randomly selected so whether you are a novice or experienced stamper you have a chance of winning the £40 voucher to spend over in the shop.

My card was made in shades of browns to hopefully give some inspiration for our new “autumn colours” challenge, I also wanted to create a vintage feel to it.

I was very taken by one of the 2 sentiments in this set “time to write a new chapter” and I had a light bulb moment when I was sitting in my studio. I had decided to include my much used vintage book pages from “A tale of 2 cities” donated by my Hb.

As I was thinking of how I would use them in my design I thought that I could actually find a page that was the end of a chapter, ready to start a new one. I found a suitable page and stamped the sentiment and the letters flourish in brown ink. I also cut out the paper part and stamped the words, “You are loved” in brown ink. I put some foam under the top of this and glued down the base to add some dimension.

I made a “book” with my vintage book pages and aged them using vintage photo distress ink plus a little tearing and peeling here and there.

I stamped, embossed and fussy cut out my typewriter and stamped the small and large hearts and matted up my card.

Here it is..

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a very happy October, the year is just racing by now.

Back soon.

Bye for now,

Jane x

Jane your card is amazing! What a brilliant idea to set it on an actual end of a chapter from a great book! Love all the torn edges and the distressing too. Thank you ♡

NEW stencils – Visible Image

Good Morning and Happy Saturday to you! It’s a beautiful day here in Wales, the sun is shining and the trees are displaying all the gorgeous Autumnal colours. We are counting down to the release date of our amazing new stamps and stencils, so we will be sharing lots of brand new inspiration here on the blog! Heather Mitchell is here this morning with an amazing card featuring 2 of our new stencils with our stunning new ‘You Are Not Alone’ stamp set…

Hello everyone!

I’ve been playing with my Gelli plate recently and had prepared some backgrounds (using some of the Visible Image beautiful products naturally!) and I was itching to use them, so when the gorgeous new stamps and stencils landed on my door mat I knew exactly what to do with them!

The first card uses the new 1983 stencil and all I’ve done is simply draw around the outlines using a Derwent Inktense pencil in a matching purple hue and then used a teeny tiny brush to water the edges and blur them slightly.

geometric - two tone - stencils

To add to the geometric vibe, I’ve then used the new Two Tone stencil with some Graphite Texture Paste.

The hands on the You Are Not Alone stamp set are truly amazing!  I didn’t want to stamp them onto card and then fussy cut them out as I wanted a more translucent look, so I’ve heat embossed onto vellum, adding the sentiment from the set first in white and then in copper powder (to create a slight shading).

pointing hand stamp

The flash of light that I’ve positioned beaming out the finger, has been heat embossed in several metallic shades (copper, platinum and rich gold) and I’ve added a few adhesive gems to finish it off before matting it onto purple pearlised card and attaching to a 7×7″ card blank.

Ghost Print

The second card started life as the ghost print of the Gelli print used above. A ghost print is where you take off the excess ink on the Gelli plate after you’ve already pulled a print. This print is usually faded and lighter in appearance but very often they’re my favourite print as you can get some fantastic texture coming through!

strobes - rays - stencil

Over the print, I’ve layered the small fading polka dots from the Set The Tone set and then added the three different sized circles from the You Are Not Alone set used previously.

The gorgeous Hummingbird, from the Life is Beautiful set, looks fabulous positioned over where the Strobe stencil has left a textured gold print and has been heat embossed in a beautiful sparkly amethyst colour. To finish, I’ve added the sentiment from Voices In Your Head set and matted it onto matching turquoise card before adhering to a card 7×7″ blank.

Visible Image - October Release 2018 - NEW stamps and stencils

RELEASE DATE: OCTOBER 5TH

The most exciting part of any release is seeing the very first samples created with them, and today we have been wowed by Jane Tyrrell’s first card, featuring our ‘You Are Not Alone’ stamp set which includes our amazing reaching hands stamps and some really inspiring words. Over to Jane…

Good Morning, I am delighted to be sharing the first sample using one of the brand new October release stamp sets:

reaching hands stamps - you are not alone sentiment - visible image

Inspired by the changing blue sky of Rhodes, I made 2 cards which I called Night and Day. Today I am sharing “Night”, I will share “Day” another time.

I made an blue oxide background on black card. I thought the hands are like those of the legends of the Greek gods making mischief from the heavens to the ancient Greeks below them on earth…. perhaps even on Rhodes thousands of year ago. I studied classical civilizations at both O and A level at school and loved the stories of the Odyssey and Iliad.

card - you are not alone - visible image stamps

Here are some close ups…

The reaching hands stamps are so detailed and the circles and sentiments are fun to play with.

I used gold ink to stamp the circles, to me they represent the sunshine and in this vast universe I am pretty certain that we are not alone.

One more shot, I edged the card with gold ink which you can just see in this photo.

You Make Your Story

Hi there! We are back with more fantastic inspiration! Veerle Moreels has a great video tutorial for you showing how she created her latest tag featuring some of the words stamps from our ‘Voices In Your Head’ set with our awesome ‘Elemental’ blue print background stamp…

you make your story - tag

You… no one else. It’s you who is truly in charge of making your own story.
Yes, you can leave it up to others but… will they write it the way you want it to go? After all, they can’t look inside of your head and soul to see what is really going on in there.

And yes, others can come in and try to turn it all upside down. But you are in charge of taking control again and turn everything right back as you want it to be.

Are there things we can’t control? Yes, sure. But you decide how to go from there.
You see… you make your story.

If you think you might need a little reminder sometimes… go and take out those Visible Image stamps and create with me. I have it all filmed in my new video ^.^

Make your story a beautiful one.

You’re Stronger Than You Think

Hello! Hope you are having a great weekend! The sun in shining here in Wales, it’s absolutely gorgeous! And we have some gorgeous inspiration coming your way here on the blog today too. Jane Tyrrell has combined 2 stamp sets from our April release to create and amazing card. If you know someone going through a difficult time this card would be perfect for them, to remind them ‘you’re stronger than you think’…

Good Evening,
it’s time for my weekly DT make for Visible Image and today I am using stamps from the So Much Stronger set

inspiring quote stamps - visible image

and the single tree from the Into The Woods set

forest - bare tree - stamps - visible image

I made an alcohol ink background, using glossy card stock, gradually adding drops until I was happy

I then stamped the tree and embossed it with Seth Apter’s baked texture embossing powder.. I love these powders as they have “bits” in which give a very different effect

I then stamped and black embossed the sentiment and also some leaves from the super Create it set

small background stamps - visible image

The ‘you’re so much stronger than you think’ sentiment works so well with the tree stamp

I then matted and layered up my card

You're Stronger Than You Think - card

and one more close up

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and for your very kind comments which you take the time to leave.

Take My Hand Stencil

Hello! So sorry we have neglected our blog over the past week.. the good news is we have lots of amazing inspiration to share with you over the next few days! Pauline Butcher has created an awesome project featuring our Take My Hand stencil…

It’s time to share a new project, using some spectacular ‘Visible Image’ products.

I think I have a thing with these lolly sticks, I just can’t stop using them…

hand stencil - visible image

So, on this mixed media project, the stencil and stamps I’ve used are:

Take My Hand stencil

take my hand stencil - visible image

the sentiment ‘You Inspire Me’, is from Choose Happiness stamp set

the moths are from Glimmer of Light stamp set

and the background stamp is Elemental

I glued all the lolly sticks together, and blended Distress ink over them. I stamped the Elemental background, then put the stencil over the top, and used  some black paste through it.

On a separate piece of card I stencilled the hand stencil using a black pen, painted it using Dyna paints, then fussy cut it. The moths were stamped onto a piece of painted card, heat embossed and fussy cut, as were the sentiment words.

Thanks for dropping in.

Hugs,
Pauline xxxx

This is so awesome Pauline! Our hand stencil looks brilliant! Loving the vibrant colours, such an inspiring piece! Thank you ♡
