Distressed Heart | Mesh Stencil

Hi there! We are back with more wonderful inspiration this evening. Our fabulous Design Team member Ali Carubia is here with a stunning card featuring our NEW ‘Mesh it Up’ stencil with our amazing ‘Organics’ background stamps and more…

Wishing everyone a very Happy Monday!

I’d like to share this card I’ve made using the left over bits from sample making with the fab new stencils.
This is a simpler version of one of my samplesūüíĖ

heart card | mesh stencil | love is love sentiment

Creating a heart mask – I took a piece of copy paper, folded it in half, drew half a heart and cut it so the heart shape measures approx 6″ x 6″.¬† I was careful to leave the outer part in one piece for the mask. ‚úā

I sprayed the inside edge of the heart mask with stencil adhesive – Stick and Spray, waited a couple of minutes for it to dry off then laid it over a piece of white card.

I coloured the heart shape with Cosmic Shimmer Lavender Blue Opal Polish and Bubblegum Lustre Polish, the blue down the left hand side and blended into the pink. Then dried it with a heat gun.

I used the remaining pink polish left on the applicator to colour a scrap of white card then stamped one of the flowers (Random Art of Kindness stamps) in black versafine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. ‚öė

I sprayed stick & spray over the back of the stencil, waited a minute and then laid it over my ūüíú¬†¬†heart.

I applied black texture paste with a spatula over the stencil. You could use an old credit card if you haven’t got a spatula.

Then lifted off the stencil and lashed it into a bowl of water. ūüöį

The texture paste takes a while to dry, you can speed it up with a heat gun.

I coloured the centre petals with a little watered down Lavender Polish and cut it out. ‚úā I snipped between the petals then shaped it using a ball tool and the back of a foam mat.

I had some tropical leaf die cuts left over from a previous project which went really well with the colour scheme – Tim Holtz’s Tropical set by Sizzix.

When the texture paste was dry, I peeled off the paper mask and cut out the coloured heart. I sponged a little black gesso around the edge to add a vignette.

I stamped the splats from the ‘Organics’ stamp set in black Versafine ink on an 8″ x 8″ white card blank, working outwards from the centre.

I also stamped the Love is Love sentiments onto white card and matted them onto black card.

I fixed the heart onto the centre of the card with double sided foam and the flowers and leaves with 3d glue gel.

I also used the glue gel to add the sentiments to the right hand side of the heart.

Hope you like it and I have inspired you to have a go. Please come and share your makes with us in¬†the Visible Image Facebook Group ūüėé

Life is What You Make it

Hi there! We have stempelfrida here on the blog today with the kind of card that would brighten anyone’s day…

Life is what you make it. Wow, that’s another killer statement, huh? I had this idea some time ago with the hearts, which I would arrange like this on a canvas and then place a saying at the bottom right. The ones who know me, are aware that this happens rather rarely with me. I usually do not know beforehand how my card will look like in the end. But you can be sure, even with this project it wasn’t clear before how it will look in detail afterwards.¬†

happy bright card | hearts | ink splats | life is what you make it

Each of these hearts makes its life as it pleases. And look how beautiful this variety is! Yes, I have consciously chosen something very beautiful for each individual heart. And look at what’s going on around the hearts! But also here: these are splotches and doodle circles, but how great and beautiful is this interaction? Life is what you make of it – look around you!

Life is what you make it – and indeed, isn¬īt that, what we should always remind us of? Yes, it might be hard sometimes, when you are feeling miserable because life gave you a hard time or you need to deal with a tough task. But in the end it is about YOU! You hold the strings in your hands. Your eyes can make the world grey or bright.

I wish you all have the power to realize this every day and especially when you are down.

I started to paint hearts with my LYRA chalks, which I have used so rarely until now. But I wanted something with great bright colours and actually the result is so wonderfully shiny. Thanks to the clearstamps I was always able to estimate the size I needed to paint, because I wanted to stamp the hearts in black on the edges later. I took the colours of the rainbow for my project.

In a second step I mixed the colours with a brush and water and added light and darker areas. I let them dry well and then stamped the hearts on them with Versafine and fussy-cut them.

Afterwards I made light spots with water and darker spots by spraying paint on the hearts with a brush. On the again dried hearts I set white and black accents with acrylic pencils. I bent the hearts a little bit up at the edges and fixed them with spacer pads of different thicknesses.

For my background I have combined the stamps from several sets of Visible Image stamps. I always call this kind of stamps “grubby maker”. Many stampers use them for mixed media techniques and often they are used in dark colours. But I wanted to use them in the right happy colours to set a perfect scene for my hearts and let them feel good. The lines at the bottom of the square are again painted with an acrylic pencil.

The whole picture is quite very big: 21×21 cm, if you want to make it yourself.

Face Stamps | Ink Splats | Visible Image

Hi there! Thanks for visiting us today! Pauline Butcher is here to inspire you with a really imaginative card featuring our face stamps with our ‘Breaking Glass’ stencil and some of the stamps from our gorgeous ‘Free Your Imagination’ set…

Helloooo,

It’s time for me to share something new I’ve created using some awesome Visible Image products, and this time it’s a 6″ x 6″ card.

So, I have mixed some of the new products with some of the older ones, just to show you that all the fabulous Visible Image products, mix and match together so well.

face stamps | handmade card

The Visible Image products I used on this card are:

Breaking Glass | Stencil | Smashed | Cracked

I started off with a piece of white card 5″ x 5″, and I stamped the closed eyes from the Face It stamp set, using a Wow Embossing pad, and heat embossed with Wow Primary Ebony Embossing powder. I then blended Mustard Seed Distress Ink, with a blending tool, around the outside of the card, and around the middle, leaving the white card showing around the eyes, I added a little Ripe Persimmon in places too.

I then stamped a few of the ink splats in different Distress colours, I also stamped with the small ink splat from the ‘Free Your Imagination’ set. Now for the stencil, as you can see from the photo’s I used Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, gently blended through the Breaking Glass stencil…

…to just give an extra dimension to the card, looks good doesn’t it, I do love all the Visible Image stencils.

On a piece of old music paper, I stamped the book from the ‘Free Your Imagination’ set, using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and fussy cut it, then blended over it with some Tea Dye Distress Ink, to age it a little more.¬†

On some white card, I stamped the feather Quill and the ink pot, again from the ‘Free Your Imagination’ set, with the Onyx Versafine, then coloured them with Clean Color Brush Pens, and fussy cut these too.

I adhered the fussy cut elements, to the card using 3D Glue Gel, and added some stickles to the Quill, and the eyes, for that extra bit of sparkle.

Thank you for visiting.
Hugs Pauline xxxxxxx
