Thinking of You | Rose Stamp

Hello! We hope you had a lovely weekend, doesn’t Monday come around quickly! We are excited though, as we have lots of gorgeous inspiration coming your way this week and… NEW STAMPS too! Jane is here on the blog today with a beautiful card featuring our Thinking of You stamp with the rose from our FLOWER ART set with our wonderful verse…

Good Afternoon everyone, it’s time for my Visible Image design team post. After 2 weeks of Christmas stamps and stencils inspiration the design team are getting back to sharing some non Christmas makes. This is while we await the delivery of the new stamps and start making our samples. Yes there are 6 new stamp sets coming out later this month and they are AWESOME.

I decided to work with these 2 lovely sets and make a slimline card;

Flower Art

Flower Art | Stamps | Rose | Daffodil | Tulip | Clear | Rubber

and Thinking of You which has such a delightful verse written by Helen.

Thinking of you stamp | verse | card making | clear | rubber

This is what I got up to.

I sprayed frayed burlap and mermaid lagoon distress oxide sprays onto watercolour card, spritzed some water and dried with my heat gun. Once dry I cut a slimline panel. I then stamped the sentiment as shown. I masked off the verse so that I could stamp it in 2 halves on my background. I then stamped the rose from the Flower Art set with a green inked stalk/leaves and black over the flower head. As long as the stalk and leaves are green you don’t need to be too precise with the colour on the flower as this is being decoupaged.

I added some extra green to the leaves using a zig watercolour pen.

Next I stamped and embossed just the rose flower heads onto inky mop up card and cut them out.

I glued the rose blooms in place, matted up the card and adhered it to a slimline card blank (I just cut my own).

Here it is finished

Have I Told You Lately?

Hello! We hope you had a nice weekend. We have lots of gorgeous inspiration coming your way this week, and there’s definitely love in the air with Valentine’s day approaching! Jane is here on the blog today sharing a gorgeous romantic card featuring our fabulous Always + Forever stencil and a love-ly sentiment…

For my make today I decided to make a “Love” themed card. This design would work well not just for a Valentine card but for a card to send to someone you love.

This is what I got up to;

I sprayed a piece of A4 mixed media card  with cracked pistachio, fossilized amber, mowed lawn and candied apple distress stain sprays. When dry I cut it down to a 5 1/4″ square.

I put the Always and Forever stencil in place and blended spiced marmalade distress ink through it give a golden glowing image.

I then added a little more ink to the background.

I stamped the book stamp from the Free your Imagination set once onto inky mop up card and again on plain white card. I cut out just the top of the book on the white book.

I stamped some of the hearts from the Have I Told You set

and then one of its lovely sentiments. For a finishing touch I added a little glitter overlay pen and Glossy accents to some of the hearts.

Here is my finished card

Supplies

rubber clear stamps | book | inky bird | feather | quill | free your imagination

Life Can Be Tough | Sentiment Stamp

Hi there, thank you for visiting our blog today. Ericka Strange is here with an awesome card featuring a sentiment which is so meaningful, especially at the moment… life can be tough, but my darling so are you.

Happy Thursday and I hope you are all doing well. This was my inspiration for the ‘Red White and Blue’ challenge over in the Visible Image Facebook group.

I started out by smooshing Distress Ink in Candied Apple and Salty Ocean on my craft mat and picking up the ink with Bristol Smooth paper.

Once my background dried, I added the safety pin stamp from the Don’t Judge set with Archival Black ink. It’s been a tough year for all of us and in the United States (as many countries) we’ve have been through other hard times and have come through stronger.  I like the look of the tears being held together with safety pins signifying our past tough times as a nation but we’re still strong.

I used the Stars and Stripes stencil with texture paste and added WOW! Embossing White Twinkle for some pretty shine.

I finished my card with the sentiment from the Brave & Strong stamp set which I think is perfect for the time we are going through with COVID-19.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week.

What a striking card Ericka! Love the mended flag held together with the pins, and the embossing powder really adds the wow factor to the flag!
Thank you
