Butterfly Angels | Handmade Card

Hello! We have Jane Tyrrell here on the blog today with a fabulous card featuring our grungy butterfly stamps with an inspiring sentiment…

Good Evening,

A fortnight has rolled round and it is time for my regular design team post for Visible Image. Wow there have been so many changes in these 2 weeks. Helen and Mark aka Mr and Mrs Visible Image have lots of ideas to keep us all entertained, engaged and creative in the weeks ahead and one lovely idea is the start of a new challenge. The theme of challenge #1 is such an apt one, “Brighten Someone’s Day”.

I managed to see my best friend for a long lunch just before this whole situation took hold and we both cherish those few hours and realise it may be quite some time before we see one another again. I decided to make my card to send to her.

I knew just the sentiments to use. This is such a great set:

positive sentiment stamps

My dearest friend loves her garden as much as I do so I also reached for the Wings of Change set.

Her favourite colour is pink so I made a very pink and girlie background. First I sprinkled on some Infusions and added some spritzes of water.

I then blended on some Distress oxide ink.

I also made some textured butterflies by stamping on some left over inky card, adding crackle accents and a sprinkle of glamour dust for texture and sparkle.

Once dry I cut them out minus the antennae.

I stamped the sentiment and butterflies on the background and then stuck the butterflies on top raising the edge of their wings with foam pads.

Then it was time to put my card together. Here it is;

and one last shot;

There is  also a special Mindfulness section on the Visible Image website at the moment which has 30% off, just perfect for crafters who are sending out cards to help raise people’s spirits at this time. Visible Image is a small husband and wife team who are still shipping here in the UK and abroad for as long as they are able to .

And yes my dear best friend received this card last week and told me that it did lift her spirits which was my very intention. I feel empowered by my crafting that during these uncertain times that I can give a tiny moment of positivity to someone’s day.

I do hope you might join us over on FB with this challenge. Perhaps you could then send what you have made to someone you care for and cannot see in person for now?
Back soon.

Stay safe and stay creative.

Bye for now,
Jane x

Live Life Now | Butterfly Stamps | Stencils

Hello there! We have Lisa Taggart here on the blog today with 2 stunning cards featuring the inky butterfly stamp from our ‘Live Life Now’ set with 2 of our butterfly stencils on a gorgeous background…

For today’s project I’ve made a duo of cards using both stencils and stamps from Visible Image including some of my personal favourites. I’ve also had a little fun using one of the new large rectangle gel press shapes from Ranger.

I used the following stamps and stencils:

Live Life Now

inky butterfly | stamp | grunge

Butterfly Ink stencil

inky butterfly | stencil

Count Me In Stencil

numbers | stencil | jumbled

Entwined Butterflies Stencil

‘The Ripple Effect’ background stamp set was also used but I’ve since learned that it may be retired. It’s never too late to bring it back Mark! Hopefully many of you will already have this old favourite but if not any of the other background stamp sets would work.

The steps:

To create the background I began by brayering lilac pigment ink on to the Gel press plate. On top of this I lightly sprinkled different colours of brusho powders pre mixed with water using a fan brush. I then pulled a print on to white card.

To enhance this a little further I used the entwined butterflies and count me in stencils along with iridescent gold acrylic paint to create subtle interest on top. The effects of this can be seen on the final project depending on the angle of the light.

I then used the large butterfly stencil, the background stamp set, ‘Live life now’ set and coloured ink to build up the layers.

I divided the print into two before adding the final stamped layer using black ink. I also added gold splatters and the sentiment.

Christmas Card | Tree Branch Stamp

Good Evening! We have even more fantastic inspiration for you today as Martha is here on the blog with a stunning Christmas card, cleverly created with non-Christmas stamps…

For my DT post for Visible Image, today I share a Christmas card made with a ‘no-christmas’ stamp set, in fact the focal images are from the Night Owl while the date border is from the Christmas Chaos set.

First of all I prepared my background blending some Distress Ink

Then I stamped around the edges the branch from the ‘Night Owl’

Some water spritzs to create a snowy look

I colored with Nuvo Shimmer Powder another cardstock on wich I stamped
the round element

and then punched three circles

With a metallic thread I ‘hung up’ my ornaments

I finished my card with the date border from the ‘Christmas Chaos’

Some glitter spritzs and my card is finished 🙂

Stamps Used:

night owl | flying | stamp

christmas tree | grunge | stamps | mixed media

This is such a creative card Martha! Your snowy sky is beautiful and the log baubles look fantastic hanging from the branches. Thank you ♡
