Squirrel Stamp | My Kind of Nutty

Hello! Thanks for visiting our blog today! Ali is here with an amazing handmade card created with our NUTS ABOUT SQUIRRELS stamp set which includes the super cute squirrel stamp, fabulous acorns, a log and some fun sentiments…

Autumn is one of my favourite times of year, the beautiful colours, the nights starting to draw in plus new stamp releases from Visible Image ūüėÄ I’ve used the new ‘Nuts about Squirrels’ stamp set, and the ‘Autumn Leaves’ stencil which goes perfectly with this new release.

Tutorial

Cut a piece of white stamping card 145mm x 145mm.

Apply Scattered Straw distress oxide ink over 3 sections of your card using a blending brush.

Repeat with the Carved Pumpkin, Salvaged Patina and Seedless Preserves. Blend the colours where they touch.

Spritz a little water over your piece, leave for a few seconds and blot with a paper towel.

Dry with your heat gun.

Position the ‘Autumn Leaves’ stencil over your coloured card and tape down with low tack tape.

Colour the leaves with your oxide inks.

Remove the stencil and spritz with a gold spray such as Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent Gold Airless Mister.

Dry with your heat tool.

Wipe over your coloured panel with an anti static pad.

Stamp the squirrel silhouette stamps around the edge using brown versafine ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Stamp the large squirrel, one of the sentiments and quite a few leaves and acorn stamps with brown versafine ink, and clear heat emboss as before.

Colour your stamped images using watercolour markers and cut them out.

Apply a little gold gilding wax using the tip of your finger over all of your clear heat embossing.

Leave for a few minutes then burnish with a paper towel to bring up the metallic effect.

Cut a 9cm square from the centre of your panel.

Matt the large panel onto black card with a border of 5mm.

Matt your 9cm centre piece with a black border of 3mm.

Cut out your sentiment and matt it onto black card leaving 1.5mm border.

Attach the large panel to a white 7″x7″ card blank directly using pva glue.

Fix the centre panel with double sided foam pads so it is raised.

Mould your cut out pieces between your fingers to curve and shape them.

Attach the squirrel, leaves, nuts and sentiment using 3D glue gel.

Squirrel Stamp Handmade Card

Hedgehog Stamp | Handmade Autumn Card

Hello and happy weekend to you! Sharon is here on the blog today with a stunning Autumn card created with the gorgeously cute curled up hedgehog stamp from our HEDGEHOG HUGS set…

Hello there. today I’m sharing a card using the BRAND NEW ‘Hedgehog Hugs’ stamp set from the Autumn Visible Image release.

This is called ‘sleepy hedgehog’.

hedgehog stamp | leaves | tree | handmade card | Visible Image

I’ll get right to how I made this card…

First stamp the leaves in various shades of distress oxide ink. I confess I didn’t use all of these, but I wanted a choice of the base colour.

Next colour them in with some marker pens and fussy cut them out.

Set aside for later.

Stamp the hedgehog onto a panel the same size as your card front and heat emboss with clear embossing powder, then colour him in with marker pens.

Make sure you know where to place him so that he is at the bottom just above the frame that you will use.

Take some ripped paper and blend some hills and sky into the background using distress inks.

Stamp the grass around the hedgehog.

Take the small tree from the VI Minis #1 set and stamp this in first and second generation ink, to represent some tree branches.

Die cut a frame border for the little scene and stamp and heat emboss the sentiments onto it.

Secure this frame to the scene with foam tape.

Add the leaves to the frame and add a few falling from above too – use 3d foam pads to attach those.

Then take some coloured stickles and add leaves to the bare tree branches and highlight a few of the leaves with a clear stickles too.

And that’s it. Your card is made …..once the stickles have dried ūüėČ

Want To Hibernate | Hedgehog Stamp

Hello! We hope you are having a lovely weekend. Lynda is here on the blog today with a fantastic handmade card created with our *NEW* HEDGEHOG HUGS and TOTALLY TOADSTOOLS stamp sets and THE FOREST stencil… hedgehog stamp handmade card

I don’t know about you but I get so excited by Autumn. I love the rich colours and cosy feeling it brings. So when I saw the brand new release from Visible Image I was just thrilled to be amongst the first to get to play with them as they are just perfect for the season.

This card showcases the set called ‘Hedgehog Hugs’. This cute little guy is just adorable don’t you think?

I started with a background sheet that I created with Distress Ink by applying to my glass mat, spritzing with water and dabbing it into. Once dry I used a circle mask and inked around the outer edge to create the effect of a setting sun.

I then used my gelli plate and the Forest stencil to create a woodland backdrop. This was achieved by applying a thin layer of brown paint to the plate, laying the stencil over the top, and using a piece of copy paper to lift the paint between the trees. I then lifted the stencil, revealing the tree shapes, and placed my backing paper down over it to lift the image to it.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the hedgehog and leaf piles, and also one of the toadstools from the incredible ‘Totally Toadstools’ set, and using 3D gel glue created my¬† woodland scene.

Doesn’t he look cosy?!

Strength and Endurance | Maple Leaf Stamp

Hello! Sorry we have been neglecting our blog, it’s been a crazy few weeks here but we are coming out the other side and cannot wait to share all the latest Design Team projects with you! First up we have Judy Rozema with a beautiful tag featuring the maple leaf stamp and sentiments from our ‘Erika’s Maple’ stamp set…

Today I am excited to share a beautiful stamp set from Visible Image from the Autumn Release called Erika’s Maple. The trees here are just holding on to the last leaves, but yesterday was a windy day, and there were many falling leaves!

I also used one of my favorite background sets, Mesh-ellaneous.

maple leaf stamp - tag

I started with a large bookmark tag shape from watercolor paper. On my craft sheet, I dropped three different colors of dye ink, and then spritzed with water, dabbing my tag in the ink.

When dry, I stamped my leaf and sentiment images with VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I felt it was missing something, so added a bit of the ripped fish net in a raspberry ink in various places on the tag. Just what I was looking for!

To finish, I used three different fibers for my tag top. I love how it turned out. You can’t go wrong with these gorgeous images!

This is so gorgeous Judy!

We love our ripped fishnet stamp too, and those fibres really do add that perfect finishing touch to your beautiful tag! Thank you ♡
