Love is Love | Mixed Media Face Stamps

Good Evening, we have some more gorgeous new stamps inspiration for you today. Heather Mitchell has inked up our ‘Love is Love’ set and is here to show you what she made…

Evening all,

You can’t have not seen the new Visible Image stamps that are on pre-order now… and aren’t they beauties?!  I absolutely love this Love is Love set… bang on perfect for these volatile times in which we find ourselves.

I’ve barely been able to put this stamp set down since it arrived Friday and my head is whirring away with possibilities and ideas for it.

To begin the card, I’ve added some star washi tape strips to watercolour card and gesso’d over the top to protect the tape.  After overlaying the Square Route stencil, I’ve created an ombre effect using Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean to which I’ve then lightly spritzed water over to add texture.

After using a black permanent fine liner to draw in some scribbly lines in the stencil gaps, I’ve flicked on some black indian ink to break up the blue and add extra interest.

Having already measured where the two face stamps would lay on the card, I used the sentiment for the set, Love is Love, down the centre.

The two profile stamps are just brilliant! The words on them (trust, love, eternity, friendship, loyalty, empathy, kindness etc) are so bang on trend and perfect for all types of cards and journalling and I cannot wait to journal with this set!

I’ve heat embossed the profile stamps using WOW!’s Opaque Bright White embossing powder and then used oxide ink pads (Candied Apple, Picked raspberry, Seedless preserve, Blueprint Sketch, Cracked Pistachio and Mustard Seed) to create the rainbow effect.  Once trimmed, I’ve secured them directly to the card before matting onto black card to finish.

Once again, the new stamps are on pre-order now from the online shop and are due for release on Friday June 26th… just in time for the weekend!

Look Forward With Hope

Hello and Happy Monday to you! We hope you had a lovely weekend   Judy Rozema is kicking off this week’s inspiration here on the blog with a stunning card featuring our ‘Beautiful Soul’ face stamp and an inspiring quote…

Today I am sharing some watercolor painting and a card made with three different stamp sets from Visible Image.

face stamp | hair | woman

I started out by mixing oranges, yellows, and reds from my Kuretake paints. I didn’t have an image, or idea in mind for what I would make; I was just mixing colors. When it was dry, it reminded me of the gorgeous image from Beautiful Soul.

I used my MISTI to line up where the image might look best, and stamped it with VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I added the sun from Look Forward With Hope in the upper right corner, and the net from Mesh-ellaneous along the bottom and upper left corner in yellow and orange inks.

I stamped the sentiment sentiment in Nocturne ink. I think it’s the perfect sentiment for all that is happening in our world right now. For added sparkle, I used Orange Peel Stickles in three waves of her hair. I love how it turned out!

Stamps Used:

Hope | It's OK to not be OK | brave | storm | sentiment | stamps

mesh | ripped fishnet | background stamp

handmade card | hope | face stamp | woman

Thank you for stopping by today!

This card is so striking Judy! Your background is fabulous, we love the texture and interest you added with the fishnet background stamp. Thank you

Angel | Face Stamps

Hello, sorry we have been neglecting our blog lately. Hopefully you follow us on Facebook so will have seen all the live demos we have been doing to keep your crafty mojo flowing. We have lots of inspiration to share with you here on the blog over the coming week, and we are kicking off with our fabulous Pauline Butcher who has some rainbow challenge inspiration featuring our face stamps…

Hi there,

I hope you are all staying well and safe.

I’ve created a card as a tribute to all the Nurses on the front line, doing an absolutely fantastic job, along with all the Doctors, and of course all the other key workers, who are working hard to keep us safe and fed, in this unprecedented time. There is a Rainbow challenge in the Visible Image Facebook Group, it would be great if you would all enter, not only to show all the NHS and key workers that we care, but to brighten up this uncertain world.

angel | face stamps | handmade card

The Visible Image products I used on this card are:

face stamps

Guardian Angel stamp

inspiring quote stamps | believe in me

square route stencil

I used a piece of mixed media card stock and cut it to 6″ x 8″, placed the stencil on it, and with my blending brushes and distress inks I made diagonal stripes of colour, filling the card. I took away the stencil, then cut off 2″ from the 8″ side ( for sentiments).

I stamped the face in the middle of the card, using Versafine Onyx Black ink using a stamp platform, so that I could make the image nice and dark by stamping it 3 or 4 times. I used bleach to lighten the whites of the eyes, and pens for her eye shadow. I then used pink Stickles for her lips and her eye shadow. When the Stickles was dry, I then went over the lips again with some Glossy Accents, I also added it to the eyes.

I worked on the sentiments next, using the 2″ of card I cut off the side. I stamped all three sentiments using Versafine Onyx Black, trying to get the stripes of colour to go in the opposite direction, so they stand out more, I also distressed the edges with Salty Ocean distress ink, and adhered them onto the card with 3D Glue gel.

Now that the topper is finished, I put it onto black card, then onto a 7″ square white card blank. I used a white pigment pen to highlight the eyes, and all the sentiments.

Thank you for visiting, stay safe and stay well.

Hugs, Pauline xxxxxxx

Face Stamps | Ink Splats | Visible Image

Hi there! Thanks for visiting us today! Pauline Butcher is here to inspire you with a really imaginative card featuring our face stamps with our ‘Breaking Glass’ stencil and some of the stamps from our gorgeous ‘Free Your Imagination’ set…

Helloooo,

It’s time for me to share something new I’ve created using some awesome Visible Image products, and this time it’s a 6″ x 6″ card.

So, I have mixed some of the new products with some of the older ones, just to show you that all the fabulous Visible Image products, mix and match together so well.

face stamps | handmade card

The Visible Image products I used on this card are:

Breaking Glass | Stencil | Smashed | Cracked

I started off with a piece of white card 5″ x 5″, and I stamped the closed eyes from the Face It stamp set, using a Wow Embossing pad, and heat embossed with Wow Primary Ebony Embossing powder. I then blended Mustard Seed Distress Ink, with a blending tool, around the outside of the card, and around the middle, leaving the white card showing around the eyes, I added a little Ripe Persimmon in places too.

I then stamped a few of the ink splats in different Distress colours, I also stamped with the small ink splat from the ‘Free Your Imagination’ set. Now for the stencil, as you can see from the photo’s I used Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, gently blended through the Breaking Glass stencil…

…to just give an extra dimension to the card, looks good doesn’t it, I do love all the Visible Image stencils.

On a piece of old music paper, I stamped the book from the ‘Free Your Imagination’ set, using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and fussy cut it, then blended over it with some Tea Dye Distress Ink, to age it a little more.

On some white card, I stamped the feather Quill and the ink pot, again from the ‘Free Your Imagination’ set, with the Onyx Versafine, then coloured them with Clean Color Brush Pens, and fussy cut these too.

I adhered the fussy cut elements, to the card using 3D Glue Gel, and added some stickles to the Quill, and the eyes, for that extra bit of sparkle.

Thank you for visiting.
Hugs Pauline xxxxxxx

What a stunning card and fabulous combination of stamps. The book pages look brilliant and we love your gorgeous colour choices. The stencil really adds striking dimension too!  Thank you Pauline ♡

Christmas Sprite | Face Stamp

Hello and Happy Monday to you! We hope you had a lovely weekend.. don’t they go fast!!! We are kicking off another week of gorgeous inspiration with Jane Tyrrell, featuring our beautiful soul face stamp on a Christmas card…

Good Afternoon,

It is getting much colder now and we really are speeding towards Christmas…just 44 days to go..ho ho ho!

The shops are selling their 2019 festive baubles. I spotted these the other day…so festive and wintry.

I was inspired by the wintry baubles to make something festive to show how incredible versatile the Beautiful Soul girl is

face stamp | beautiful soul

When I first saw this set my first thoughts were to make her into a Christmas sprite. I’m sorry the photo below has shadow but it is getting darker in my garden studio now. It will soon be time for me to retreat indoors again to craft. I blended wilted violet, mermaid lagoon and pumice stone distress oxides across a piece of watercolour card. I then stamped the medium snowflake from Snow is Falling in white ink (this Christmas set has sold out on the website but you may well find it at your local stockist or craft shows) .

Once dry I stamped the girl using Versafine ink.
I stamped and white embossed the swirl and snowflakes from the Snowman Jack set

snowman stamp

and a festive sentiment from Sentimental Christmas

I then stamped and white embossed some more small snowflakes in her hair.

Here is my finished sprite..

And a couple of close ups.. I added some blue pen as icy lipstick….brr she looks very chilly doesn’t she!

And one last shot..

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Back soon.
Bye for now,

Face Stamp | Beautiful Soul

Good Evening! We have Ericka Strange here on the blog tonight with 2 incredible cards created with our gorgeous new ‘Beautiful Soul’ face stamp…

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today I’m playing with the new release from Visible Image called Beautiful Soul. I love this set and the beautiful words it contains.

reddwonwsp

I started by stamping the image on Bristol Smooth paper and gold heat embossing it.  My oldest daughter saw me making it and asked if I could use red on her hair and make the middle yellow. So I took out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and used a variety of pink and reds to color her hair as well as yellows for the middle.

redstart

Once I was finished I used a sparkle pen on the hair to give it a little more shine. For the background, I blended Antique Linen Distress Oxide and a light Black soot on the edges. I heat embossed the sentiments in gold and added some sequins for some extra shine.

I love this set so much that I had to make one with blue hair as well.

blucardwwater

I made this similarly to the one above. I used Bristol Smooth paper and heat embossed it with Silver. My youngest daughter, whose name is Elsa, saw the first card and wanted me to make her one, thus the “Let it Go” look.

I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens to color her hair and decided to add a little sparkly silver embossing to the middle of her hair. I then added some silver sequins I had in my stash to give her a more regal winter look.

I finished by stamping the “Let it Go” with a Concord & 9th set Perfectly Penned and then used the other sentiments in the Visible Image set to add to her.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Get Up | Dress Up | Face Stamp

Hello! We have Sharon Traynor here on the blog this evening with a fabulous card featuring our NEW ‘Beautiful Soul’ face stamp with our ‘Never Give Up’ sentiment…

Happy Monday!

I have some no-line colouring of a gorgeous image from the BRAND NEW RELEASE by Visible Image. She is an absolute dream to colour, if you like colouring, and she comes with so many gorgeous words too. The sentiment on this card is from a new set too.

Here’s how I made this DL card.

Take some Strathmore Toned Grey sketch paper and stamp the image onto it using a light grey ink.

I started with the face. Using some polychromos pencils and a very light touch I started to colour, adding white to the areas I wanted a highlight first (because you can’t really add a highlight afterwards). Then I added more colour moving from light to dark, adding a little blue to the darker parts.  I wanted to retain the look of hand colouring so the pencil strokes have not been completely blended in. I am still learning how to colour like this so I knew it wouldn’t be perfect, but I like the finished result.

polychromos pencils - face stamp

Next colour the hair. I used 3 colours for the hair, adding low-lights with the dark colour and highlights with the lighter colour.  Making sure the highlights don’t line up over every strand gives it a more natural look.

To finish the card I stamped a sentiment and some of the words along the edge, then doodled a border in between the stamped words with a black pen.

Stamps Used:

face stamp | beautiful soul | visible image

heartfelt sentiment stamps | visible image

Other Supplies:

Strathmore toned grey sketch paper, Memento london fog ink, Polychromos (101 white, 102 cream, 126 permanent carmine, 130 dark flesh, 131 medium flesh, 132 light flesh, 151 helio-blue reddish, 183 light yellow ochre, 187 burnt ochre, 283 burnt sienna), Versafine onyx black, stamping platform, black micron pen.

That’s it from me for now. Thanks for stopping by and I really hope to see you again soon.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

Life Can Be Tough | Face Stamps

Hello! We hope you are having a great weekend! Stempelfrida is here on the blog today with a gorgeous card featuring our face stamps, with a sentiment from our NEW ‘Brave and Strong’ stamp set…

I am mega enthusiastic about the new words of the Visible Image Autumn release, and today I have combined an older set with “Life can be tough but my darling so are you”. Whoa!!!! What a wonderful source of inspiration for my card.

You may not believe it, which of the card was a challenge, but it is the face. First, how do I want the proportions? Because the eye stamp with the eyebrow and the mouth stamp, on which the nose is only indicated, are two stamps. Without having drawn anything from my face, it was not so easy for me to decide how big the distance should be. And then, of course, there’s the colouration. And there is almost nothing of the facial contour after stamping. Of course this offers you a white canvas for your artistic freedom. It was faszinating to see the woman under the pencils emerge. The colouration is done with copics and polychromos. The zipper is also coloured with copics and glued on the cut out face. I designed my background with acrylic paints.

Supplies

Polychromos 189, 131, 146, 120, 151, 199
