Create Your Imagination | Eye Stencil

Hi there! Today’s inspiration from Jane Tyrrell features some of the stamps and stencils on our Create and Craft TV shows tomorrow! (More details below).  Jane’s striking card was created with our gorgeous EYE CONTACT stencil, the moth and lightbulb stamps from our GLIMMER OF LIGHT set with a fantastic sentiment stamp…

Good Evening

I am here with my latest Visible Image design team make. Mark aka Mr Visible Image will be appearing on your TV screens again TOMORROW (Tuesday 27 October) at midday on Create and Craft. It is a longer 1 1/2 hour show and he will be sharing some awesome demos plus samples from myself and my teamies.

3 of the products on the show are the amazing Eye contact stencil

and the brilliant Just Be Happy stamp set

inspiring sentiment stamps | quotes | just be happy

I decided to make a canvas with them for my show sample.

This is what I got up to;
Using Versafine Onyx ink and an stencil brush I stenciled the eye onto white smooth card and then clear embossed it. I then stamped all the other elements of the design as well. I didn’t worry about masking the corner of the eye where the small light bulb went as I would be adding a cut out bulb when finished.

Using Zig watercolour pens I coloured all the moths

I added a little shimmer with a glitter pen to the wings

I stamped out several of the light bulbs and clear embossed. I coloured the element and then added glossy accents. Here they are wet, they go transparent when dry and I then cut them out

I coloured the pupil of the eye in rainbow glitter pens and again added Glossy accents. I then left everything to dry

I then put my design together.

Here it is..

Eye Contact Stencil | Vibrant Handmade Card

Hi there! We hope you are having a good week so far. Today’s inspiration comes from Ali Carubia who’s teamed up two of our awesome stencils: Eye Contact and Strobes to create a vibrant eye catching card…

Happy Tuesday

I’m sharing this card today using Visible Image’s amazing Eye Contact and Strobes stencils. I’ve used my Spectrum Noir Harmony inks to colour these.

eye stencil | vibrant handmade card

Firstly spray the back of the 2 stencils with stencil adhesive and leave for a couple of minutes.

Stick the Eye Contact stencil on a piece of 6″ x 6″ white card and lightly ink over with the jet black ink.
Remove the stencil and heat dry the ink.

Position the Strobes stencil so that the centre is over the pupil and then colour each of the rays with the Harmony inks.

Remove the stencil and taking a couple of pieces of scrap card to use as masks, extend each of the rays to the centre of the eye and outwards to the edge of the card.

Use the Bleed Proof White (or white acrylic paint) to paint over the white of the eye with a paint brush.

Reposition the Eye Contact stencil over your card, lining up over the inked up eye and tape down with masking tape.

Apply black structure paste over the stencil using a spatula.

Carefully peel back the masking tape and lift off the stencil.

Put the stencil to water and leave your card to dry.

Stamp the TIME and ‘to be happy again’ sentiments with black versafine ink onto white card and heat emboss with clear embossing powder

Cut out the two sentiments and matt onto black card with a border of about 1/8″ .
When the structure paste has dried, use a black fine liner pen to outline each of the rays and the eyelids.

Use a grey alcohol pen to colour the inner and outer corners of the eye.

Matt your card onto black card leaving approx. 1/16″ border and then onto white card with a 3/16″ border and then onto a black 7″x7″ card blank.

Finally, stick the sentiments onto your card using foam tape or 3D glue gel.

Here is my finished card
