Christmas Sprite | Face Stamp

Hello and Happy Monday to you! We hope you had a lovely weekend.. don’t they go fast!!! We are kicking off another week of gorgeous inspiration with Jane Tyrrell, featuring our beautiful soul face stamp on a Christmas card…

Good Afternoon,

It is getting much colder now and we really are speeding towards Christmas…just 44 days to go..ho ho ho!

The shops are selling their 2019 festive baubles. I spotted these the other day…so festive and wintry.

I was inspired by the wintry baubles to make something festive to show how incredible versatile the Beautiful Soul girl is

face stamp | beautiful soul

When I first saw this set my first thoughts were to make her into a Christmas sprite. I’m sorry the photo below has shadow but it is getting darker in my garden studio now. It will soon be time for me to retreat indoors again to craft. I blended wilted violet, mermaid lagoon and pumice stone distress oxides across a piece of watercolour card. I then stamped the medium snowflake from Snow is Falling in white ink (this Christmas set has sold out on the website but you may well find it at your local stockist or craft shows) .

Once dry I stamped the girl using Versafine ink.
I stamped and white embossed the swirl and snowflakes from the Snowman Jack set

snowman stamp

and a festive sentiment from Sentimental Christmas

christmas sentiment stamps - different

I then stamped and white embossed some more small snowflakes in her hair.

Here is my finished sprite..

And a couple of close ups.. I added some blue pen as icy lipstick….brr she looks very chilly doesn’t she!

And one last shot..

Santa Claus Card | Visible Image Stamps

Hello there! We have Nadine Carlier here on the blog today with a brilliant and fun card featuring our Santa Claus stamp set…

Can you believe Christmas is less than two months away? It will be here before we know it! I have put away all my Halloween card making supplies and have pulled out all my Christmas card making supplies. I have made a few Christmas cards already, but I need to get a lot more done. So get ready for a lot of Christmas card inspiration from me in the next few months.

The Santa Claus Stamp Set by Visible Image is such a fun stamp set. Instead of using the entire Santa image, I just stamped his legs with some VersaFine Clair in Nocturne and colored them in with Copic Markers. For the chimney, I stamped it two times using VersaFine Clair in Acorn but reversed the stamp, so the chimney was stacked up to be taller. Then I fussy cut out both of the images.

I used a Fantastix with some VersaFine Clair in Acorn to color in the white areas of the chimney. Then, I adhered Santas legs to the chimney.

Next, using the Visible Image Cosmic Skies Stencil I used VersaMark and pressed it over the stencil onto a white piece of cardstock.

Then sprinkled some Mboss Embossing Powder in white over it and heat set with my heat tool.

To color the background of the piece I just embossed, I sprayed some Fireworks! Spray in Paris Dusk and Fireworks! Spray in London Fog onto my craft mat and placed my embossed cardstock piece with the embossed side down straight into the liquid. Pressing it down to make sure that the spray fully covers the white cardstock and then carefully lift it up. Wipe the spray from the embossed areas and set aside to dry.

I stamped the Santa Claus sentiment using VersaFine Clair in Nocturne and used a Fantastix with VersaFine Clair in Glamorous to color it in. Once my card front piece was fully dry, I adhere it to my card front and attached the sentiment, Santa legs, and chimney to the front with some 3D Foam Squares.

Then, I used some DecoArt Snow-Tex around the bottom and top of the chimney, and on the Santas pant bottoms, I used some Radiant Neon Amplify in White.

For my final step, I decided to add some irRESISTible Pico Embellisher in clear to Santas boots and to the sentiment.

I then let everything dry, and my card was complete.

This is such a clever and fun Christmas card! The snow looks fabulous and we love the gloss on the boots and sentiment!  Thank you Nadine ♡

Joy | Snow | Noel | Christmas Card

Good Evening, we are back, as promised, with some gorgeous Christmas card inspiration from Sharon Traynor featuring our Christmas Words Background stamp…

Hi!

I just couldn’t resist playing with some of the Christmas stamps and making a non-traditional coloured, sparkly holiday card.

As always, this is super-simple to make and only uses a few supplies too.

First, cut a panel of water colour paper, sprinkle on some brushos and spritz with water to move the colours around. Let it dry completely (ideally leave it overnight). In the photo below I made 2 backgrounds, one where I wet the water colour paper first (on the left – that one was used on a different card) and the other made with a dry background and spritzed after adding the brusos (on the right) that I used on this card.

brusho paint

Once it is completely dry, heat emboss the main ‘image’ i.e. the sentiment panel with a sparkly silver embossing powder. Next rub some clear versamark ink around the outside edges of the panel, sprinkle on the same embossing powder, but before heat embossing, rough up the internal edges with your finger for a more natural distressed look.

Stamp and heat emboss the holly leaf from the ‘Sentimental Christmas’ set, and fussy cut it out. Attach the water colour panel to a card blank and then add the holly leaf to the bottom right of the sentiments, making sure to curl the holly leaves.

On the inside of the card stamp the sentiment and stamp the holly leaf too, to tie it in with the front of the card.

This would be so easy to batch make too. I love that from a batch of brusho backgrounds, none of the cards would look identical, and if you changed the embossing powder too that would add even more variety.

Stamps Used:

Other Supplies:

Watercolour card, Brushos (purple and emerald green), Versamark clear ink pad, Heat It Up! silver tinsel embossing powder white card.

Well, I hope you liked this card. It was fab to see you here today, and I do hope you’ll come back for a visit soon.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

Sharon this is so beautiful, the silver embossing looks wonderful against the vibrant colours! The inside of your card is gorgeous too.. Thank you ♡

Searching The Skies | Christmas Card

Hello! We have our wonderful designer Lynda Hall here on the blog today with a stunning Christmas card featuring some of our Christmas Eve stamps…

Love it or hate it, there’s no denying the fact that Christmas is on the horizon now. The shops are beginning to sneak their festive goodies on the shelves, and us crafters are beginning to get organised for the season, and that includes me. I have been busy using the stunning Christmas stamps from Visible Image to create some cards.

I don’t know about you, but even though my kids are grown up and no longer believers, I still believe in the magic of Santa and find myself staring to the skies wishing for a glimpse of the big man’s sleigh. So today’s project was created with that in mind.

christmas card - sleigh - trees

I began with a piece of cardstock with a blue wash over it.

<

I used a mask and gesso to create a moon and stamped the trees from the Christmas Eve set in Versafine Clair ink to create my scene, using 2nd and 3rd generation stamping to build depth.

I stamped and highlighted the sleigh, and  created a snowy effect using the elements stamps from the set and a splatter or two of white paint.  The sentiment is from the Sentimental Christmas set.

Christmas Eve Stamps | Visible Image

Hello! We have some beautiful Christmas inspiration for you today, courtesy of the incredibly talented Lisa Taggart, featuring our Christmas Eve stamps…

Hello my creative friends. It’s my day at Visible Image stamps today and I’ve decided to share the first of my Christmas samples using the latest fabulous New release Christmas stamps  …Visible Image really have got Christmas covered this year!

Here are the sets that I’ve used:

Christmas Eve

Christmas tree - stamp - sleigh

Sentimental Christmas

christmas sentiment stamps

Here are the steps

I’ve mixed ink sprays; ink pads and gesso along with my usual highlighting tricks!

First an ink spray print.

Then some drawing and masking followed by some gesso painting.

I used ink pads and makeup brushes to paint in the shadow details of a moon and foreground.

Then the stamping, remembering that images further away are paler in shade and colour. Strokes of distress oxide across the trees create the illusion of mist. The sentiment was also added.

The small details were stamped and then coloured in white and yellow. Glitter glue touched here and there. The edges were also darkened.

You will find plenty more inspiration from the rest of the team and our group members in the Visible Image Facebook group. Check it out for inspiration and support!

Till next time..

Lisa xx

Woweeee this is absolutely stunning Lisa! You have really captured the magic of Christmas Eve with your wonderful depth, shading and highlights! The mist across the trees is amazing too! Thank you ♡

Well, maybe you can guess… Yes indeed… those words ^.^ And today I’m using one of them on an art journal page, showing you that Santa doesn’t need to be flying by in his slay to go ahead and use them ^.^ I took out some watercolors ( duh) some pastes and my art journal and even a second set of beautiful Visible Image stamps…

Enjoy the video!

So… tell me, what page would be in your art journal?

Thank you Veerle, this is a wonderful art journal page! We love your contrasting circles, and fabulous texture… we could watch you create with water colour all day long ♡

Mixed Media Christmas Card | Visible Image

Hi! We have Heather here on the blog this morning with a gorgeous mixed media Christmas card featuring stamps from our awesome ‘Christmas Chaos’ stamp set…

Hello everyone,

I’m here today sharing a Christmas make for Visible Image.  I’ve used the fabulous Christmas Chaos and the Christmas Backgrounds sets which are just brilliant especially if you like grungy makes like I do!

mixed media Christmas card

I kept the background for this card nice and simple, using Distress Oxide’s to create a traditional coloured background to which I added Paperartsy’s Infusions to give a little more depth and then spritzed with some shimmer spray for some glitz.

For the Tree, I coloured some card using Distress Oxide’s again and then heat embossed the beautiful Christmas text using Wow’s Metallic Gold powder to give a rich, warm colour.  Over this I stamped the tree outline from the Christmas Chaos set and fussy cut it out.

I’ve heat embossed the star image three times onto gold card and trimmed two and then trimmed just the star.

After adding foam dots to one of the images and to the trimmed star (so I can layer it up over the top of the tree) I’ve popped this to one side to add some dyed cheesecloth.

The cheesecloth was dyed using Distress Spray Stain and I used the Candied Apple red to match the background of the card. I didn’t want it to stand out too much, just provide a hint of texture under the tree.

The cheesecloth has been glued into place and then the tree added over the top with foam dots behind it.  I added two dots stacked together in the middle of the tree and just one on the outer edges as I wanted a curved look rather than just a flat finish.

For the sentiment, I ripped two sections of vellum and stamped on the top one before stapling it in place and winding round some twine.  This was them matted onto gold card (same card as I stamped the stars onto) and adhered to a card blank.

Fairly simple card for me and it’s a traditional card with a modern edge, if you get me.

Here are the gorgeous Visible Image stamps I’ve used for this make…

Angel of Peace

Hi there, Jane Tyrrell is back with more beautiful inspiration this evening, combining our gorgeous Angel stamp with our grungy snowflake…

Good Evening

I’m sharing for my latest card for Visible Image today, and as we are fast approaching the time to finish getting our Christmas cards made today’s inspiration is one using 3 sets from their fab Christmas collection. We have an “add some sparkle” challenge over in the Facebook group, so I thought I would go to town with the sparkle today!

I used the smaller angel and the star from the Angels  stamp set

angel stamp

together with the snowflakes from Snow is Falling

snowflake stamp - grungy

and the Peace sentiment and star from the Peace Love and Hope set

grungy bauble stamp - peace - love - hope

I went for a relatively simple design on plain black card stock as I think these gorgeous images just speak for themselves. I used silver ink first to stamp the snowflakes. When dry I white embossed the stars. Afterwards I used some ultra sparkly WOW gold glitter embossing powder to really make the angel stand out.

I also white embossed the peace sentiment.

Here is my finished card…

I hope that all your Christmas preparations are going to plan…  🎅😄?

Thanks for stopping by today.

Back soon.

Bye for now,

Angel Stamp

Good Evening! Sharon Traynor has some beautiful inspiration for you today, featuring our gorgeous Angel stamp and Strobes stencil with lots of glitter…

Hi!

I’ve gone all sparkly today! Well…. it is getting pretty close to the ‘Sparkly Season’ isn’t it?

angel - Christmas card

I couldn’t resist making a card full of glitter and sparkle because the theme for this months challenge in the Visible Image FaceBook Group is ‘Make it Sparkle’.  We love you to share the gorgeous things you make with your Visible Image stamps with us in that group, and there is great prize for the winner. So, if you haven’t requested to join that group yet…..what are you waiting for? Head over and join in with us.

I have 2 versions of this card to show you, one where the angel is black and one where the angel is white. I’d love to know which one you like the best.

This is a 6 second video showing the sparkles:

Here’s the details for this card …

Texture comes from the card stock that I used: Hopsack card for the base and linen for the angel.

Techniques used:

  • The double Glitter Technique
  • Ink Blending
  • Heat Embossing

Stamps and Stencil Used:

     angel stamp        hands stamps

   strobes - rays - stencil

A step-by-step for this card

Die cut a circle in a piece of A5 hopsack card and blend distress inks from the lightest around the circle to the darkest at the outside edges.

Let this completely dry then heat emboss the Angel word in white embossing powder.

Stamp the circles from ‘You Are Not Alone’ in Picket Fence, Broken China and Chipped Sapphire distress inks.

Die cut some double sided adhesive sheet with the same large circle die. Remove one side of the backing and centre the ‘Strobes’ stencil onto it. Take the blue glitter and pour some onto the stencil and work it into the adhesive with your fingers. Remove the stencil and add the white glitter to the adhesive sheet in the same way.

angel stamp - card

Die cut a small circle into the centre of the adhesive sheet – small enough to be hidden behind the angel, but large enough to take some foam squares.

Stick the ombre background onto a card blank and then remove the other part of the double sided adhesive sheet and adhere that into the opening.

Heat emboss the angel image onto linen card stock with a sparkly black embossing powder and fussy cut it out. Stick 3d foam pads to the back so that they stick to the card and not the glitter.

Here is an alternative version with the angel in white..

angels stamp - white embossing

Other Supplies Used:

Spellbinders Circle Dies (large), Distress Inks (tumbled glass, broken china, faded jeans, chipped sapphire, picket fence), Versamark clear ink, WOW! embossing powders (opaque bright white, black twinkle embossing glitter), double sided adhesive sheet, white and blue glitters, foam squares.
For the white angel I used WOW! Sparkling Snow embossing glitter. Papermill Direct Hopsack and Linen card.

Don’t forget to let me know which version you like best… the white angel or the black one.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

Wow! What incredible cards! Thank you Sharon, they are so super sparkly and utterly gorgeous! ♡ We love them both.. it is far to hard to choose a favourite!

Love and Hope

Good Evening, we have a very special project from Veerle Moreels to share with you here on the blog today…

Many people are looking forward to Christmas and New Year’s eve. And why not, they are supposed to be lovely evenings shared with our loved ones. But sadly enough so many people also miss a lot of people on those days. Because they are (far) away due to obligations, or not being able to get together or even more sadly because they have passed away. And when it’s your first Christmas without that loved one… I can tell you that are hard and sad times.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t think of them, or think of all those special memories that keep them alive inside our heart.

So I made this altered bottle using the beautiful Visible Image stamps…

I have laid down the stars using golden metal foil… my beloved stars are the brightest on the nights sky after all.

And what would we be without some hope. My hope to see them again whenever time want’s me to…

I also went ahead and made a little card to go with the bottle as these words just say it all. But you can go and just sent it to share a little bit of love with someone of which you know that Christmas will be a hard time this year.

Stamps used:

Christmas Memories

What an incredible project ♡ Thank you Veerle.

The texture and all the gorgeous detail on the bottle is so beautiful. The angel wings are perfect with this heartfelt sentiment too ♡

Peace Love and Hope

Hi there! We are back (as promised!) with more beautiful Christmas inspiration. Here’s Nicky Gilburt…

I’m sharing a card today that I made with Visible Image’s gorgeous Christmas designs.

The words on this Peace, Love, Hope stamp set are beautiful, arranged in a really stunning font which has just the right amount of swirl, and the images to fit in the inky circle…oh my goodness!

For the background I stamped the musical notation from the Music Speaks set:

I used Distress Oxide inks and silver embossing powder on this card, as well as the few obligatory sequins! It is Christmas after all, well, soon!

I’m sure that you’ll agree – Visible Image do Christmas their way!

Happy crafting!

It’s Fabulous Friday, and it’s Visible Image day, so here’s a very quick Christmas card I made, using the beautiful Snow is Falling stamp set.

The background was created using Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, and a pink and purple Mica spray, and left to dry.

I then stamped all the stamps from the set with Versamark, and heat embossed with White Puff Twinkle Embossing Powder from Wow…. easy !!!!

Unfortunately the photo doesn’t show you all the shine and sparkle.

Thanks for visiting.

Hugs, Pauline xxxx

Christmas Can Be Tough Sometimes…

Good Evening, thanks for visiting our blog today.

When we lose a loved one, Christmas can be a very difficult time and it can be hard to know whether to send a traditional Christmas card, and ‘Merry Christmas’ just isn’t really appropriate. So Helen wrote a special sentiment for those ‘hard to write’ Christmas cards.

We have some beautiful inspiration for you from Jane Tyrrell today featuring this Christmas sentiment stamp…

Monday has spun round again and it’s time for my Visible Image DT inspiration.
Today I am focusing on the gorgeous new Christmas stamp release and designing with 2 sets;

The very poignant Christmas Memories stamp…

which I thought went perfectly with the silhouette angel image from the Angels set

As you may know, I am Mrs Christmas and adore everything about it. However I do understand that for some people this can be a very difficult time of the year. Particularly when they have recently lost someone they love. That first Christmas afterwards, I know from my own experience, is very tough. I sell my cards at Dotty’s Tearooms in our local high street and I thought this card would be a helpful extra to sell there this year.

My design also uses the Strobes stencil (these are all back in stock in the shop). I think it makes a great sun/star burst and used it in the background of my card…

So this is what I made…

I kept my colour very upbeat and simple.

I gold embossed the angel word and added some gold to the border.

I blended distress inks through the stencil. I wanted the angel to be more of a shadow and I achieved this by using a gold metallic ink. The sentiment is stamped and embossed.

Here she is in close up, in real life she has a shimmery gold effect…

Thanks so much for visiting today. It is only 84 days until the big day and I am getting myself into Christmas card making mode now that the evenings are getting darker.

Time to light those candles…

Back soon.

Bye for now,
 Jane x

This is such a stunning card, thank you Jane ♡
The sentiment, Angel and strobes all work so beautifully together.

Peace Love and Hope

Hello! We are back with more awesome inspiration for you here on the blog today. Veerle Moreels not only has some stunning Christmas inspiration to share with you, but a brilliant tutorial video too…

So… Christmas is coming… OMG Christmas is coming!

Somewhere a long long time ago I challenged myself to go and make one Christmas card a month. One simple plain card a month and… I made two so far (start the blushing).

I have to be honest… I don’t like the cold winters, I don’t like snow, and although I do love Christmas and the family time it brings, I don’t like making the Christmas cards either. So just like any other year, I think I’ll get in trouble when it comes in sending out my cards in time. Or just maybe, when I start right now, maybe I’ll be able to end the year without the stress?

So I need: perseverance, a knock on my head and a kick in the butt, and some good stamps that make creating easy.

And guess what ^.^ I have this one set from Visible Image that got me into making 5 gift tags.

Just one set… and 5 gift tags at the end of the video ^.^

Stamps used:

Peace Love and Hope

Veerle these are absolutely stunning!
Thank you for your fantastic tutorial video too ♡

An Angel for all Seasons

Good Evening! We are back with some fabulous Christmas inspiration from Pauline Butcher this evening…

Hi again,

It’s fabulous Friday and time for me to share some Visible Image inspiration, today it’s a Christmas card, made with some awesome stamps…

The stamps I used were…

Angels

Seasons Greetings sentiment from Go to Christmas Words set

and the background stars are from Rock Out

The background is watercolour card, with Brusho’s sprinkled onto it, with a fair amount of water spritzed over, and left to dry.

I stamped all the background elements using Distress Oxide inks, I heat embossed the Angel using white embossing powder, the star with Gold powder, and both sentiments using Black. I highlighted with a white pen, to make things pop off the card.

Thanks for popping in.
Hugs, Pauline xxxxx

Snow Queen

Hi there! We have some super stunning Christmas inspiration for you today from Jane Tyrrell…

Good Evening,

I am sharing my weekly Visible Image inspiration project which I have called “The Snow Queen”.

I used some of the gorgeous new Visible Image Christmas stamp sets:

Peace, Love and Hope

and a sentiment from the Go to Christmas Words

and teamed them with one of my all time favourite sets..

Face It!

I also used the Face Shape mask

I stamped the face and added some Distress glaze to seal the lips.

I very roughly blended some blue distress inks…making them look quite swirly to look like snow swirls.

I added some shading with Broken China distress ink around her face and gave her some blue blusher too. I stamped and white embossed the small snowflake accent stamps from the Peace, Love and Hope set. I also added some glitter lipstick and eyeliner

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine and added the sweet reindeer and star. The little accents in the Peace, Love , Hope set are very sweet and I have used them on lots of my Christmas cards. I also added some DecoArt snow-tex around the edge of my card and sprinkled glitter on top for a really frosty effect.

Here she is again…

I love these new Christmas stamps Mark has designed… all the sets work so well together. I have been busy making some other designs too which I will share very soon.

Thanks for stopping by today and for the kind comments you take the time to leave. We are rapidly approaching October now and it’s time to get those Christmas cards started…. only 87 days to go… ho ho ho!!

Back soon,

Bye for now,
Jane x

The Magic of Christmas

Hello there! We have some gorgeous Christmas inspiration here on the blog today from Elina Stromberg…

Hi and Happy Sunday!

Christmas may still seem to be far ahead, but actually now it is the perfect time to start thinking about Christmas cards. Especially if you want to make the cards yourself, enjoy the creative process and to avoid the hassle of creating the cards in the middle of other Christmas preparations. I started my Christmas card project with these two simple inked cards:

For these simple designs you don’t need too many supplies: For colouring and stamping the backgrounds I only used one blue Distress ink colour, ‘Faded Jeans’. Starting from the top of the card I inked my white cardstock panel using an ink blending tool and a few simple hand-cut, mountain shaped paper masks. For stamping the words and the flying reindeer I used black VersaFine ink.

The white star is stamped and heat-embossed with white embossing powder. For the little white stars I used white heavy embossing powder: I sprinkled the powder flakes on the card, and heat set them by heating the card from underneath. Especially when using water-soluble Distress inks I prefer using white embossing powder for making tiny white splash marks, as a thin white paint will absorb the ink colour, and the end-result will not be bright white. White embossing powder will give you a pure white colour.

The new Visible Image Christmas stamp sets are so very inspirational. The hand-written text stamps are my true favourites, hope you will get inspired, too!

For more information on the Visible Image stamps I used, please click on the pictures below:

Wishing you a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by!

Visibly Christmas

Hi there! We have some super gorgeous Christmas inspiration for you this evening from Nicky Gilburt…

Today I’m sharing a card I made with the fantastic Visible Image Christmas stamp set ‘Snow is Falling’

I used all of the elements from the set on an inky background made up of Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserve Distress Oxide, smooshed around my cardstock with acetate and dried, and then stamped over with the same colour Distress Inks.

In the background I stamped the sentiment several times, and the smaller snowflake. Then I dried my cardstock with my heat gun, wiped over it with my anti-static bag, and stamped the largest snowflake with Versamark, so that I could heat emboss it with white embossing powder.

I then added more detail, a few small snowflakes, the sentiment, and the falling snow, all heat embossed with the white powder again. Once mounted onto white card, it definitely needed a sparkly background to complete the card, plus a few sequins of course!

Look closely at the snowflake and you will see that as a finishing touch I squeezed white glitter glue all over it, because at Christmas you can not have enough sparkle!

This is the stamp set:

I am sure you will agree this is Christmas –  Visible Image style!

September’s Visible Image challenge theme is.. Distressed! Be sure to add your make to the album in the Facebook group to be in with a chance of winning a fabulous coupon to spend in the Visible Image shop!

Baby It’s Cold Outside – Visible Image

Hello! Are you feeling festive yet? Teresa Morgan is here on the blog today with a fantastic Christmas tag…

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas……and I have a festive tag to share with you all today, using some fabulous Visible Image stamps:

I die cut two blank tags using my Tim Holtz Sizzix die, and then used a Sizzix Mixed Media die to cut the holes in one of the blanks. Several shades of blue and black Distress Ink are blended over the tag. I added more pattern to the tag by splatting some water on the inks and blotting off.

visible-image-snowman-jack-character-stamp-teresa-morgan

Jack is stamped with Archival Ink and coloured with Distress Inks using a water brush – this gives a softer, looser effect than colouring with markers. I randomly stamped some snowflakes over the tag before adding the sentiment at the top. Jack is attached with 3d foam pads, and the second blank tag is glued behind the decorated one to complete the piece.

Angels @ Visible Image

Hello there! Thank you for visiting us here on the Visible Image blogy.

We have a stunning project from Nicky Gilburt to share with you today…

Visible Image stamps - Angel stamp - Nicky Gilburt

I love love love this angel! A gorgeous stamp with accompanying word and a little angel too for adding backgrounds and extras.

I stamped and embossed the Angel and the word first. I then painted over her with Inkessentials glue and seal, which protects the image. Those tiny sparkles of white that shine through – if you lose them then you lose the effect, You can see I managed a 2mm border around her. Once dry, the ‘glue and seal’ resists all inks, so that the angel remains clean!

The background to this card was made by lightly rubbing 3 colours of distress ink over a square card and then stenciling through circles cut out of acetate, called the bokeh technique. Using light colours and whites it gives an ethereal affect to the card. A final touch was dots of white pen and a few sequins for sparkle!

These are the tools I used:

Thanks for looking!
Nicky

Such a beautiful card, thank you Nicky ♡

We’ll be back later today with some fabulous postcards from Corrie!

Good Morning!

We are here to brighten up this damp dismal day with some gorgeously sparkly inspiration from Teresa Morgan to get us in the festive mood! We’d also like to wish all our followers in the US a very Happy Thanksgiving 🙂

Over to Teresa…

Hello and welcome back to another Thrilling Thursday post for Visible Image stamps. I’m back in a festive mood again this week and have a super sparkly Christmas card to share with you..

Visible Image stamps - Believe in the Magic of Christmas - Teresa Morgan

I began by stamping the large ‘sparkle’ stamp all over the background and embossing with Sparkling Snow WOW embossing powder. I then used one of the Drag and Drip stamps to create my icicles, embossing with Atlantic Seaspray and Sparkling Snow embossing powders. I cut these out, adding a strip of gold pearl card before mounting on 3d foam.

Visible Image stamps - Drag and Drip

The sentiment is stamped and embossed with gold embossing powder before die cutting into an oval. I then covered the oval with Versamark ink and holographic embossing powder for a magical rainbow sparkle.

Sparkle At Christmas – Visible Image stamps

Hey there 🙂 We’re back with more fantastic inspiration this evening.

Kim Johnny is here to share here latest project…

Happy Sunday!

I have another fun tag to share today, made with awesome Visible Image stamps. Thanks for coming by to have a peek!

2015-11-22 Visible Image stamps - Christmas tag - sparkle at Christmas - Kim Johnny

My absolute most favorite thing about Christmas are the sparkly lights! I love all the variety of lights and really wish I could keep them up all year. So when Visible Image introduced this awesome Christmas set, I was in love! The set is “Sparkle at Christmas”. The star bursts are so fun to stamp with and will work all year long on many projects, so flexible!

I added lots of layers on top of the manila tag, including a painted book page and tissue.

The tree is cut from a page that did not work out as I had hoped, but loved the color and I never toss any papers, they always come in handy.

Planner, Tag and a little bit of Jazz @ Visible Image

Good Evening, hope you have had a decent start to the new week. We don’t tend to see daylight much here in the UK at this time of year.. dark going to work and dark coming home! So we are here to brighten up the dark rainy evening with some gorgeous Visible Image stamps inspiration 🙂

Here are some of the latest projects from our wonderful team…

Susanne Rose

Hi my dear Planner Fans!

It’s my day today to share some inspiration with the super unique Visible Image Stamps.
I’d like to share today how I pimped my daily planner with stamps from Visible Image together with the DCWV 12″ x 12″ Silver Lining Stack:

When you cover a book with another paper it’s important that you only glue down the front and the back NOT the spine! I embossed all my images with silver powder.

The first inner page, which is normally white, was also pimped a little.

Hi dear friends!

Thanks so much for coming by today. A small post gearing up for the Holidays!

I had a small play making another Christmas tag, using my White Christmas Visible Image stamp set.

2015-11-12 Visible Image stamps - White Christmas - snowflakes - Kim Johnny

I am really enjoying the vintage feel Holiday color scheme, the opposite of the bright colors I usually play with, hope you like it!

All images are stamped and heat embossed, I love embossing for shine and texture. The white is Wow Opaque Bright White, a fellow Visible Image teamie told me about this amazing powder. Love that it stays white on the dark background! Thanks Teresa 🙂

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs and well wishes,
~kim

Kim Bacon

My DT piece for today features one of my favourite, and unusual stamps from Visible Image.

Back in February 2015 the guys at Visible Image came up with yet another brilliant set of stamps with a music theme.

I can’t remember seeing any stamps like this before, and when they were launched they sold like hot cakes!

It’s nice to revisit old favourites and I hope you are inspired by this card.

2015-11-16 Visible Image stamps - Jazz It Up - Saxophonist stamp - Kim Bacon

First I painted a red and orange background using Brushos and then used some bleach to add the stars.

I used black embossing powder for the main image, the sentiment and one of the stars.

Some mounting and layering and a little bit of wet brush work to add a shadow and the job was done!

Merry Christmas – Visible Image stamps

Good Evening! It’s ‘Fabulous Friday’ which means the very fabulous Pauline Butcher is here to inspire you here on the Visible Image blog…

Hello,

I had a fabulous time at the NEC on the Visible Image Stand, thank you to those who came and got inky with me, I met so many lovely Crafters.

Today I’d like to share with you, another Christmas card, created using some gorgeously unique Visible Image Stamps.

2015-11-12 - Visible-Image-stamps-Merry Christmas-Poinsettia-Pauline Butcher 2

The stamps used are…
Merry Christmas and Poinsettia Set.

I stamped the sentiment in different coloured Distress inks, to form the background, going over some of it with a quickie glue pen and glitter, which unfortunately doesn’t show on my photo.

I stamped the Poinsettia with Versamark, onto vellum, and heat embossed with a Red sparkle EP, and fussy cut, the leaves were done in the same way, but using Green sparkle EP. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed onto white card, again using the red sparkle EP.

I cut a length of acetate, and made a band around the card topper, a little longer than the topper, so’s that it arched off the card, onto which I attached the finished flower and the sentiment, with 3D glue gel, to give dimension.

Christmas Pocket Letter – Visible Image stamps

Hello There! Thank you for visiting our blog today 🙂

We have two posts for you this evening, we’ll start with Christmas and then we have a Halloween project for you!

First up, here’s Susanne Rose…

It’s my day today to share some inspiration with the super unique Visible Image Stamps. I did it again – I made a Christmas Pocket Letter.

Heute ist wieder mein Tag für Visible Image Stamps. Und ich hab schon wieder einen Pocket Letter gestaltet.

I embossed the lovely snowflakes from the “White Christmas” set with white powder and colored the background with Distress Inks. I used the new colors “Mermais Lagoon” and “Twisted Cirton” and “Picked Raspberry” from the old collection. I used the “Dot Fade” stencil from Tim Holtz to add some texture. The gold splatters are made with Viva Decor Inka Gold.

It’s the second time I’ve used the lovely poinsettias from Visible Image in a Pocket Letter. I embossed them wihth gold powder this time and colored them with Distress Ink “Barn Door”. I also used dies from  Die-Namites, Sizzix, Impression Obsession, Marianne Design and Noor! Design.

Design.

The sentiments from the Visible Image Christmas sets are stamped on white cardstock with jet black Archival Ink. I cut them out and adhered them to the Pocket Letter cards. The awesome “Merry Christmas” sentiment was embossed with white powder before I colored the background.

Christmas in Wonderland @ Visible Image

Good Morning and Happy Friday to you!

We have a crazy busy day ahead here…making loads of gorgeous stamps to take to the NEC next week! We hope to see you there 🙂 It’s going to be so much fun! On top of all the awesome stamps on our stand, and of course the stunning Design Team samples for you to drool over, Pauline will be holding Make & Take sessions too! Creating some rather funky tags… We’ll be sharing her projects with you very soon!

We have some amazing inspiration for you here on the Visible Image blog today… Something Christmassy, something vintage, and something ROCK!

We start off with this stunning card from our Swedish Design Team member Lisa Nygards…

Now when we’re soon turning the page over to November I can start feel the christmas vibes. No feeling outside yet though, but I don’t mind that. We get snow over here so it will be more than enough anyway. We’ll also get the freezing cold temperatures for a way to long period.

Today I’ve used Alice in Wonderland and made her a little bit more christmas-ish then usual. The magic drink she has will probably turn you into Santa or something… who knows! The big word stamp Merry Christmas in the background is stamped with Versa Mark (no color embossing ink) direct on the Kraft Cardstock base. Alice is cut out and mounted on 3D foam to get a bit dimension.

2015-10-26 Visible Image stamps - Merry Little Christmas - script Poinsettia stamp - Kim Bacon

I used Brushos as usual for my colouring medium and brought everything together with gold embossing powder.

The poinsettia leaves already have a script pattern on them which goes really well with the script stamp from the Revolution set.

Rockin’ Around @ Visible Image

Hi There! Happy Saturday 🙂 Hope you are having a good weekend.

We have some fantastic Christmas inspiration for you today from Susanne Rose…

It’s my day today to share some inspiration with the super unique Visible Image Stamps.

I used the super modern “Rockin’ arround” set on this card. I embossed the main image and the sentiment with gold powder on white cardstock and cut everything out. As the embossing acts as a resist I was able to color the background of my sentiment with Distress Ink “Forest Moos”. The cardbase is from DCWV. The star die is from Noor! Design.

Heute ist wieder mein Tag für Visible Image Stamps. Ich möchte Euch eine Karte mit dem super modernen Set “Rockin’ arround” zeigen. Christmas Pocket Letter – Visible Image Stamps

Good Morning! Thank you for paying us a visit today.

We have lots of great projects to share with you today, so let’s get started! Susanne Rose is our German DT member, and we will be sharing her write ups in both languages as we have many wonderful customers over in Germany 🙂

Here’s Susanne…

It’s my day today to share some inspiration with the super unique Visible Image Stamps. I have recently made a few Pocket Letters,  I don’t trade them because it’s too stressy to organise! I use them to surprise some of my friends from time to time. Maybe I should give Project Life a try, because I love creating pocket pages.. It doesn’t always have to be a Pocket Letter.

2015-10-19 Visible Image stamps - Christmas Pocket Letter - Poinsettia - Susanne Rose

I started with a piece of watercolor cardstock that measures 7.5″ (3 x 2.5″) and 10.5″ (3 x 3.5″). I took the lovely snowflake stamp from the White Christmas set and stamped it with Versamark on top of my background. I embossed it with white powder and colored the background with Neocolor II watercolor crayons. The embossing acts a a resist. To add some more interest I used the script and the ornament stamp from the Revolution set and stamped them randomly with black ink. Now it was time to cut it into 9 pieces!

The poinsettias are colored with Pearlescent watercolors. I used the icicles and winter die from Noor! Design. The christmas tree is a die from Marianne Design.

Der Weihnachtsstern ist mit Pearlescent Wasserfarben koloriert. Die Eiszapfenbordüre und der Winter-Schriftzug sind von Noor! Design. Der Weihnachtsbaum ist eine Stanze von Marianne Design.

My focus lies on the “Dreaming of a White Christmas” Sentiment. The snowflake on the right hand side is a Sizzix die.

Der Fokus liegt auf dem Spruch “Dreaming of a White Christmas“. Die Schneeflocke auf der rechten Seite ist von Sizzix.

I love the winter house from Marianne Design. It is so cute on winter projects. The Winter border, the tree and the lantern are also dies from Marianne Design.

Das Winterhaus von Marianne Design finde ich total bezaubernd. Ebenso gut passen die anderen Stanzteile (alle ebenfalls von Marianne Design) dazu.

I hope you like my pocket letter. I wish you a nice day!

Ich hoffe mein Pocket Letter hat Euch gefallen.

Memories Of Your Loved One – Visible Image Stamps

Good Morning and thank you for stopping by to read today’s post.

I know that we are turning everything PINK for Breast Cancer Care‘s awareness month this week, but we just had to share a beautiful card made by Design Team member Lisa Nygards. I think most of us have sadly lost someone we love, and having lost my Dad to the evil disease that is cancer, I wrote this verse with those ‘difficult’ Christmas cards we sometimes need to make in mind. Lisa has interpreted the words perfectly with her gorgeous design.

So for today, here’s something blue from Lisa….

Have you started doing your Christmas Cards yet?

I think I have a bunch of them already and that is totally unlike me. I love to do a bunch of one or two easy designs just to fill up the number of needed cards. This will be one of them I think. Totally LOVE this snowflake! It looks fantastic and very real. The snowflake is in a set named White Christmas and it’s new for this year at Visible Image. The beautiful verse that I’ve embossed on this card is called Christmas Memories. Sweet and very useful for quick cards, as it is like an image with that lovely font.

Ally Pally Make & Takes – Visible Image Stamps

Hi There! We are very excited to share with you some amazing tags created by Kim Robertson!

Kim will be running ‘Make & Take’ sessions on our stand at Ally Pally this coming weekend and will be teaching the techniques she used to make these tags. It will be so much fun, so if you are coming, make sure you come on over and get your name down early, as spaces are limited.

Here’s Kim with more details…

Hi Folks

Today I have something that I have been working on for the shows at Alexandra Palace over the coming weekend.

As most of you know by now I will be at the craft show doing Make and Takes on the Visible Image stand which I am looking forward to sooo much, I am also doing a couple of the demos in the tent over the weekend too which will be great fun.

Mark and Helen are as we speak beavering away making and packing all the stamps by hand, they amaze me how they get everything done, it is just the two of them working all hours designing, writing, creating, making and marketing all the fabulous stamps they sell, and my hat is not only off to them, it is on the floor and stamped on lol (slightly dramatic but hey why not I am impressed lol) and they are kind lovely friends too…. wow.

Anyway I thought you would like to see some  of the tags I put together for the Make and Takes…

So this is what I will be helping people to achieve…

This first one is an Autumn feel tag, I will be showing how to get the background ready, and all that layering with embossing powder and inks and then that amazing centre featuring the ‘Stay Strong’ stamp pressed into UTEE.

On the blog over the weekend will be full tutorials on how to make these, so that the people who come to the Make and Takes have it written down to have a go at home, and so those who can’t make it to the show so can follow along anyway so look out for that this weekend.

2015-09-17 Visible Image stamps - UTEE - Be Brave -Stay Strong - Leaf - Kim Robertson

I just love the inks and the depth with how your eye starts at the central piece but then travels to the backing, where you immediately see the leaf, but then start to pick up on a the other items with in the backing.

Here you see it from the side angle with the script stamp from the Revolution set used and embossed in clear over white card, then at the end of all the inking some treasure gold added over the writing in places, just around the edges. I love to do this as the raised embossing really grabs the shine on the wax. Once it’s dried you can take a cloth and buff it ’til it really shines, as of course originally it was used as a furniture polish to add shine and colour to wood.

Here is a close up of the tag with a tiny button in the centre, and some thin ribbon through the centre. You also can see how the ink colours blend and how I have added all the layers to build the depth you see from afar.

The stamps used on this one are .

Revolution

Colours of the Wind

My thoughts on these these two sets… first when Revolution came out my jaw hit the floor as they say! I immediately saw crashing waves with white horses,  and that script is just beyond perfect for mixed media and scrapbooking. Also those of you who like to journal wow, use a white gel pen to write your message over a colourful background rather than black pen on a light colour. It creates a stunning effect.

Then there is the Colours Of The Wind set, well does this not scream Autumn? And tucked within the leaf is a tree… Amazing! I dont know another brand with such forward thinking ideas.I love this leaf and the small leaves around can be used separately, so you can have falling leaves exactly where you want them.

Here are a couple of cards I originaly created with these two sets… Do you remember them?

Kim Robertson

This was the one I envisioned the very first time I saw Revolution!

Visible Image stamps - Colours of The Wind - Grungy Leaf - Kim Robertson 1

And something a little different, look into the background and you will see lots of embossed leaves too, with lots of ink blended all around.

The second Make & Take tag is a christmassy one ..

2015-09-17 Visible Image stamps - Christmas Tag - Merry Little Christmas - Kim Robertson

With it being half way through September already, people have been wanting quick-ish Christmas cards.. Well why not send a tag for people to hang on the tree, or their Christmas card line instead and it can be a piece of art as well as your seasonal wishes.

Most of you saw my little tree I created with the Visible Image Merry Little Christmas set a couple of weeks ago, which is a fun way to create a larger tree so we will have a go at this one too.

The stamp sets I used for this one were.

White Christmas

Merry little Christmas

I am not a huge Christmasy person now the kids are all grown, but I just love the dellicate Snowflake here in the White Christmas set, and as soon as I saw the Merry Little Christmas set I saw the larger tree made with shades of green, or whatever colour you choose… your imagination is the only thing that can choose how your tag comes out but with these amazing stamps the possibilities are endless as a famous man once said lol  (Eddy Izzard at the end of a recycling advert on telly) LOL  Trivia tooo … Haha!

Here are a couple of recent cards made with these sets…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Dreaming of a white Christmas - Kim Robertson 2

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Merry Little Christmas - Contemporary Tree stamp - Kim Robertson

Well I hope I haven’t overloaded you all with too many pictures, but I truly hope I see as many of you as can possibly make it over the weekend. And I would love to see you on the Make and Take table enjoying some time together, whilst playing with yummmy stamps… what can be better….

Don’t forget the extra posts after the weekend too, showing you how I made the tags!

With love and best wishes to all

Huge Hugs

We are SO excited that Kim will be at Ally Pally with us for the very first time! Believe in the Magic of Christmas – Visible Image stamps

Good Evening! Wow what a crazy busy week we have had here! Not only did we have a tonne of orders to make but we also needed to get lots more stock made to take to Ally Pally this weekend!!! We are rather tired now but it’s all done and we are excited for the show 🙂 One of our favourites for sure!

We have a few posts for you this evening and we’re kicking off with the latest inspiration from Teresa Morgan…

Good Evening!

I’m currently enjoying a few days holiday but don’t worry – I still have some Visible Image inspiration to share with you all today. I’m mixing the old with the new to create a stunning Christmas card….

2015-09-17 Visible Image stamps - Christmas card - Believe in the Magic of Christmas - Teresa Morgan

I began by using Peacock Feathers Distress ink to create a moody backdrop for the delicate Winter Tree stamp. The tree is embossed with black embossing powder. I double embossed the sentiment, first with gold powder, then I used holographic over the top. One of the reason I love these polymer stamps is that you can see through them – this makes it easy to ‘re-stamp’ over the top of the gold embossing powder to emboss again.

What a fantastic card.. so atmospheric! Thanks Teresa 🙂

We will be back soon with Lisa’s latest inspiration.

Thanks for visiting our blog today.

I have a couple of Christmas cards to show you today, both using stamps from Visible Image.

For this one I did the Josephs Coat Technique.

Stamps used for this one are:

I love to create moon/sun scapes.  I masked of the moon and used Black Soot DI, applied with a brush to create the sky, making it slightly lighter at the bottom.  I removed the mask and added the trees, stamped in Adirondack Oregano, I stamped the sleigh with Versafine Onyx Black.  I finished off with sentiment heat embossed in silver.

Snowflakes and Shadows – Visible Image stamps

Good Afternoon 🙂 Thank you for visiting our blog.

Teresa Morgan is here with some gorgeous Christmas inspiration for you…

Thank you for stopping by to see what I have been creating for Visible Image this week! I love this stamp set, the detail on the snowflake is gorgeous….

2015-09-11 Visible Image stamps - Christmas card - White Christmas - Snowflake stamp - Teresa Morgan

I inked up my background card with Festive Berries Distress Ink, adding a touch of Evergreen Bough around the edge to darken it slightly.

Still Using the Evergreen Bough, I randomly stamped the snowflake all over and used my heat tool to speed up the drying time. I then used Versamark ink and white embossing powder, offsetting the snowflake design to create a shadow effect.

Finally I inked up some card with Evergreen Bough and embossed the sentiment.

Stamps Used:

White Christmas set

Beautiful card, love the shadowy effect. Thank you Teresa xx

Christmas Cards @ Visible Image

Good Evening!

Apologies for missing yesterday’s post… we are in full swing making all the stamps to bring to Ally Pally next weekend and Exeter the following week! As you probably know, we make and package all the stamps ourselves, just the two of us! Even hand cutting every single stamp.. so I’m sure you can imagine how busy it gets!  Good job we love it 😉

Lisa Nygards has some fantastic inspiration for you using our NEW Christmas stamps…

Hi,

I’ve done two pretty easy Christmas Cards today for Visible Image, using two of their new stamp sets. White Christmas and Rockin’ Around. Then I added the beautiful Vintage Car.

On the card with the car I’ve brayered the background on glossy cardstock with Kaleidacolor ink pad. Then stamped with black Staz On. The white card is just plain single layer and stamped with a blue Distress Ink. For the sentense I misted some water on top of the stamp before stamped, and the snowflake is stamped and then embossed with a clear and glittery powder. (Can hardly be seen at the photo).

Christmas stamps @ Visible Image

Good Evening! Thank you for visiting our blog today 🙂

We are catching up with some more of the latest work from our wonderful team. We have some fantastic Christmas projects to share with you today featuring some of our NEW designs for 2016…

Teresa Morgan

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Believe In The Magic Of Christmas - Teresa Morgan

My mind is still turning towards Christmas and this week I have gone for a non-traditional colour combination.

I used the star stamp from the Universal set and randomly stamped and embossed using Versamark ink and red, yellow and green embossing powders.

I stamped the Magic of Christmas sentiment with Versamark and sprinkled red and yellow embossing powder to create a stripe effect. I love the way that the colours pop from the black background – just remember to check that your embossing powders are opaque when using a dark background…these are from WOW powders!

Lisa Nygards

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Merry Christmas - Lisa Nygards

I have a hard time thinking about Christmas already, but infact I like to make Christmas Cards. Don’t know how that goes around… lol. Today I have made a card for Visible Image, and used their awsome sentense Merry Christmas XL. Yes – it is BIG! I like that, it gets total focus.

I’ve used a brown distress ink pad, but before I stamped I misted it with water to get the sentense a bit ”softer”. Then, before it dried I covered it with clear embossing powder. I was probably a bit slow, since I missed a few spots that was already dry. But I think it adds texture and life and it feels a bit old.

Karen Liddle

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Believe In The Magic Of Christmas - Karen Liddle

I inked through a Memory Box Stencil, then heat embossed the Magic of Christmas sentiment stamp in silver.  This made a nice quick card.

My base is a tag which is primed with black Gesso. After it was dry I added some white PanPastel color to let it look like a chalk board. This will also work with normal white chalk. The snowflakes and the sentiment from the White Christmas set are stamped with a white pigment ink. I love it, that the white is not 100% opak. That give it a real chalk board look. It’s also possible to work with white embossing powder, but that doesn’t look so real.

2015-09-06 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Kim Johnny

Today I want to share an art tag I made for Visible Image stamps using the awesome Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree stamp set, new for 2015.

I went all vintage tones using DecoArt Crackle, Decoupage Paper medium, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Distress Spray ink and various alcohol inks.

The Distress Spray made a nice shimmer on the trees. It is stamped using Fern Green Archival ink.

I used DecoArt Crackle medium on top of some papers I had layered for the bottom of the tag using Decoupage Paper medium.

I added some alcohol inks to highlight the cracks once dry. The tag is edged with Potting Soil Archival Ink.

Thank you so much ladies, awesome work as always 🙂

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas Card – Visible Image stamps

Good Evening! Sorry we have been missing in action here on the blog these last few days, it has been another crazy week for us here at Visible Image! So many stamps to be made for our fantastic customers 🙂

So we will be catching up with all the latest cards and projects from the team! And wow do we have some stunners to inspire you!!!

We will start off with a brilliant tutorial from Kim Robertson, showing how with just one of our NEW Christmas stamp sets, some inks and a gold pen, you can create an absolutely stunning card…

Hi my lovlies,

Hope all is well this week , today I gave myself a little challenge , I decided to limit myself to one stamp set from the gorgeous new Christmas range from Visible Image so I chose The Merry Little Christmas set. Then I decided to keep to one colourway just a few tones of it. I really enjoy doing things like that and sometimes it can give you more inspiration by limiting how much you can choose.

So here is today’s card.

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Merry Little Christmas - Contemporary Tree stamp - Kim Robertson

Definitely something a little different and almost whimsical don’t you think.

So My usual tutorial begins here and I hope you will have a go , it is as complicated or easy as you want it to be, you certainly can leave out any of the fiddly steps and simplify it if you would like a quicker card to do.

So using the little Christmas tree swirl I stamped it three times on white paper with the Adirondack ink Meadow.

Using the same stamp and Lettuce ink pad stamp the swirl again , slightly offset the three trees as I have here in the picture.

Next using a darker green  Archival Ink pad stamp the swirl again but this time in the centre to give the rounded shape of a Xmas tree.

Once you have got the basic shape using the swirl and different green inks you can take a gel en in white and doodle a pattern onto the tree, I went for a sort of ear garland wrapped around the tree branches.

Next Using a gold gel pen I added some droplets to the branches, just a few gold dots in varying sizes made these.

Using a cold grey 2 promarker I went around the decor with the pen creating a shadow in the tree.

I also added a litte cross hatch sketching to a few of the corners to give it that artsy feel.
Using a quickie glue pen and some glitter I added this to all the shadows.

Of course you all know you cannot get the full sparkle on camera whatever you do but here is a litte peep at the gleam lol.

Cut to size and ink the edges ready to go as your topper for the rest of the card once complete.

I took a larger piece of card and using the swirl stamp again added the three colours and over lapped some of the colours etc. I used the inks and blended the edges so it isn’t so stark white at the edges.

I added  the extras exactly as I did on the tree section we made together so here you can see some of the cross hatch sections and some of the white highlights and the gold little dots in a little garland pattern. You can also see that I added that same grey alcohol marker in sections.

I added the whole piece onto a mat of very dark aubergine card, I really do love this card and it goes fab with the greens in the inks.

Ok, so next I stamped the sentiment from the set in Black momento ink so we can go very close with the alcohol marker to give the letters a shadow, we also need to add a little highlight on the letters too and then of course mat the whole piece on that same dark card.

So adding everything back together here is the the finished piece again.

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Merry Little Christmas - Contemporary Tree stamp - Kim Robertson

Of course what’s a tree without something sparkly and pretty on the top..?

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Merry Little Christmas - Contemporary Tree stamp - Kim Robertson 1

Here is another view which picks up a little sparkle on the tree.

So the fabulous Stamp set I used for this one from Visible Image was…

Merry Little Christmas

So I hope you enjoyed today’s card and you will have a go at limiting yourself and just see what you can come up with, sometimes if your creativometer is running a little low this gives a boost and kick starts the old brain juices into action again.

On to some exciting news… I will be at Ally Pally this month on the 19th and 20th, on the hugely popular Visible Image stand doing make and takes for both days, and I will also be in the tent doing some demo’s on each day so I hope you will come down and say hello and join us on the table to see what quality these stamps made by Mark and Helen truly are. I cannot wait to meet you all if you can get down to the show and have a good old chit chat and a craft together, it will be AWESOMMME. Huge Thanks to Helen and Mark for asking me to join them for the weekend, what an honour…. Thanks guys. xx

Have a wonderful weekend.

Huge hugs from me to you

More Awesome Inspiration @ Visible Image

Hi There! We are back as promised with more awesome inspiration for you from our wonderful team..

Susanne Rose has created some fabulous postcards…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - mixed media postcards - Susanne Rose 2

It’s my day today to share some inspiration with the super unique Visible Image Stamps. I made two mixed media postcards using Neoccolor II pencils and gesso for the background. I used the script stamp from the Revolution set to add some texture. The doodling is made with acrylic markers as well as uniPOSCA markers. It’s always good to have some postcards ready to go! I am a big fan of the Visible Image expression stamps. They are perfect for cards and also for art journalling and they are so true!

Stamps used:

Revolution
Take The Moment
Never Give Up

Doreen OBrien has created a wonderful Christmas card with lots of different elements…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Snowflakes & Butterflies verse - Doreen OBrien

I am back with some more inspiration using the gorgeous Visible Image stamps. I am sharing another  Christmas card using the fabulous “Snowflakes and Butterflies” verse

I have simply stamped this onto some cream card, inked around the edge and attached it to some Frayed Burlap, this was then attached to some red card and my base card. I finished off with a Diecut Fir Tree.

And here’s a fabulous Christmas card from Karen Liddle…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - White Christmas - Snowflakes - Karen Liddle

I used Distress Inks for the background, blended with sponges.  Colours used are Dusty Concord, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry.  I also splashed drops of water over the ink and dabbed off, this removes the colour and creates white spots, love doing this.

Stamps used:
Bronte Script and White Christmas

Now for a very funky tag from Kim Johnny…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Imagine - Tag - Kim Johnny 2

Visible Image very recently released some wonderful Holiday stamps and I am feeling lucky to have received some to play with 🙂 I am not quite ready for the Holiday Season, so I have an alternate use for the beautiful
Sparkle at Christmas set.

I used the bigger sparkle from the Sparkle at Christmas set to frame the “Imagine” focal point badge. Imagine is from the Imagine Dream & Inspire set. Love the sparkle set it is so flexible and can be used so many ways! The stamping and embossing are wonderful as well, makes playtime a breeze! The top of the tag is capped with the Retro Dots Background stamp.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Imagine - Tag - Kim Johnny

I included and extra photo here to show more of the embossing, I am sooooo hooked on embossing. It adds such a fun and perfect touch. This is also the first time I have used some Lindy’s Stamp Gang embossing powder in Razzleberry Plum. Change the angle and the color of the EP changes too. Awesomeness! Now I need more, many more, colors of Lindy’s 🙂 I had to add some juicy fun dots from the Plasma set in Razzleberry Plum around the edges.

Kim Bacon was also feeling funky this week! With awesome results…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Kim Bacon

Today I have decided to do something a little ‘shocking’ in that I have used some funky colours with jet black shiny embossing powder. Not the usual Christmas colours I know but that is where my crafting session took me!

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Kim Bacon 1

I went with the usual thing, make a lot of background papers using Brusho paints and stamped directly onto them with black embossing powder.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Kim Bacon 2

Matting and layering with red card and adding a few brads finish the projects off.
Stamps used:
Rockin’ Around
Grunge Polka Dot

Lisa Nygards has a brilliant masculine card for us this week…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Jazz It Up - Lisa Nygards 2

No Christmas cards from me today. I’ve tried to do a more masculine card, even though I’ve used flowers and dolies. *smile* I have used the character from Jazz it Up and the sentense from Thank You set

I stamped the images on a page from an old German book (have no idea what it says), and mounted that on cardstock panels since it’s a bit flimsy as is.

If you love sparkle then you will love Kim Robertson’s card…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Dreaming of a white Christmas - Kim Robertson 2

I love cards like this that have a hand made background using gorgeous stamps and then all the accessories match and make you think the words are perfect which of course they definitely are. I used Momento Grey Flannel Ink and the White Christmas snowflake from the stamp set. I also used Vintage sparkle glitter for this one as I just loved the different colours in it, pinks and greens and white but all very very sparkly and pretty.

We will share Kim’s brilliant tutorial for this card over the next few days!

Teresa Morgan has created 2 completely different, and very fabulous cards using the same Christmas sentiment…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Grunge Flourish - Merry Christmas - Teresa Morgan

I love using kraft card at Christmas – it reminds me of gingerbread! I have paired the Merry Christmas stamp with the gorgeous Grunge Flourish for this first card. Both are stamped with Versamark, and embossed with WOW powders in red and white.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Grunge Polka Dot - Merry Christmas - Teresa Morgan

My second card is less traditional. I used the Grunge Polkadot background with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and used black embossing powder on the sentiment stamp.

Stamps Used:

Merry Christmas XL
Grunge Flourish
Grunge Polka Dot

Pauline Butcher also shows how non traditional colours work gorgeously with our NEW Christmas stamps…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Sparkle At Christmas - Pauline Butcher

The stamp set on the first card is called Sparkle at Christmas

It’s right up my street, as you all know I do love a bit of bling !!!!!

Please excuse my photo, I couldn’t seem get a good image for some reason, anyway……. I started off with a shaving foam and Dylusion background, this was a second print, so it was nice a pale. I used the small burst stamp with versamark, and glitter embossing powders in various colours, then added the large burst and the sentiment in a bright blue glitter embossing powder. I decided this wasn’t enough, so I heat embossed them again onto some heat resistant acetate, fussy cut them, then attached them with glue gel. Out came my Stickles for some extra sparkle !!!!

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Merry Little Christmas - Pauline Butcher

On my second card, the stamps I used are Merry Little Christmas set, and the small flourish from Revolution.

I made the background with Dylusion Ink sprays, then using the small flourish from the Revolution set, I stamped over it using just water, and flicked some for good measure, lol !!!! I stamped the tree and the sentiment using Black ink, then stamped the tree again in blue. Once dry, I stamped the tree and sentiment again using Versamark, but slightly to the left, to give a shadow effect, then heat embossed in a white glitter embossing powder. Again I decided this was not enough, so I used some dries white glue over the main tree and the word Christmas, with some dry glitter sprinkled over it.

Susanne Rose mixes and older Christmas stamp design with NEW to create an absolute stunner…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Poinsettia stamp - Believe in the Magic of Christmas - Susanne Rose

Again I have a Christmas card for you today. I can’t stop creating Christmas themed projects, but the new Visible Image Stamps are so awesome!

My background is colored with Neocolor II watercolor crayons and the lovely snowflake from the White Christmas stamp set. I stamped it with Memento Luxe matching the background color. The sentiment is stamped with Memento Luxe as well and embossed with clear embossing powder. I cut it with the Silhouette Cameo and the Pix Scan Mat.

I love the Poinsettia!!! I fuzzy cut each stamped flower and build up some 3d poinsettias. The leaves die cut in the background are from Cottage Cutz.

Happy Christmas crafting!

Doreen OBrien has 2 more gorgeous cards to share…

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - Just The Way You Are - Doreen OBrien

For this card I first made a background using Distress inks then for a bit of dimension added a couple of background stamps.. Grunge Harlequin  and Bronte Script. Last of all I stamped the Sentiment from the Sunshine Set.

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - Merry Christmas - Winter Tree - Doreen OBrien

And for this Christmas card my background has been made with PanPastels while masking off a moon. The Winter Tree and Merry Christmas sentiment have both been clear embossed with Black Versafine ink, and I finished off using some acrylic paint for my snow.

Karen Liddle was in the green zone this week! Gold on green is stunning…

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - Imperfection is Beauty - Inky Flower stamp - Karen Liddle

I used Aquatints to colour the background, just one colour brushed over wet water colour card.  I did a couple of brushes across either side, leaving the middle pretty clear, the inks blended nicely in the middle.  I used a stencil for the tiny dots then used Ink Splats stamps around the edges, heat embossed the Flower Inkognito and the  Imperfection is Beauty sentiment stamp.

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - White Christmas sentiment - snowflake stamp - Karen Liddle

I made my own stencil for this one, just a square nestie cut through mylar.  I then inked through it with Diestress Ink, and stamped the snowflakes in the same colour.  I heat embossed the sentiment.  Only one stamp set was used which was White Christmas.

And we finish off today’s post with another fabulous funky little number from Kim Johnny…

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - Smile Sparkle Shine - Kim Johnny 2

I wanted to share a small project I made using my Visible Image Stamps. Lately I have been having fun making half-page canvas pieces. I love the torn edges that remain when removing it from the spiral book!

The paper is Canson Mixed Media. The flowers are Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die cuts, colored with Derwent Inktense color blocks. The scribbles are made with UniBall Signo pens.

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - Smile Sparkle Shine - Kim Johnny 3

I used one of my favorite sentiments, Smile Sparkle Shine from the Express Yourself range for the focal point. I added Grunge Harlequin and Retro Dots background stamps for small touches as well, stamped with Stazon Black.

Lisa Nygards has created 2 fabulous Christmas cards…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Lisa Nygards 1

Guess what? I’ve played with the brand new Christmas stamps from Visible Image this weekend! Whohooo, they are totally amazing if you like to play around with colors, papers, mixed media or whatever. My passion is spray mists and watercolors, so that is what I have for you today!

The ”rockin’ around the christmas tree” card is colored with watercolors on watercolor paper. Randomly picked and brushed on wet paper. When it was dry I splattered a tiny bit of blue on top and then stamped the tree and the sentiment. Since it’s watercolor paper with a pretty rough surface you won’t get the totally black image you’ll get on smooth paper. I think it just adds texture to the piece, but if you want it perfect black – pick a smooth paper! Stamp set is called Rockin’ Around, and you’ll find it HERE!

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Christmas Collage stamp - Lisa Nygards

Then I’ve made a pink (!) christmas card. *gasp* But isn’t it kind of cool and pretty? Once again I’ve used watercolor paper, but this time with mists in pink and grey/silver-ish. Let it dry and stamped the beautiful collage stamp ”Christmas Collage” on top. Like the other card, since it’s stamped on water color paper it adds texture to the image since the paper is a bit rough. The big snowflakes are grungeboard that I’ve painted with white gesso and added glitter to. Notice the badge in the middle of the big snowflake? It’s home made, and I’ve stamped the snowflake from the White Christmas set on a pink paper, cutted out in the right size for the badge and put it together. Think it becomes a beautiful center piece.

Now for something rather funky from Kim Robertson…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Grungy Lips - Bite Me - Kim Robertson

So I was playing with my stamps and I remembered the gorgeous lips in the Bite Me set so I decided to have some nice bright lips on a grey background.. electric blue lips would look so good here too but I chose to go for red and glittery!

We will be sharing Kim’s brilliant tutorial for this card over the weekend 🙂

Teresa Morgan has created us two gorgeous Autumnal cards…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Colours of The Wind - Tree Leaf stamp - Teresa Morgan

I have two different projects to share with you today, both using the fabulous Colours Of The Wind stamp set.

The first card uses the leaf stamp to create a beautiful background for one of the new sentiments..
I inked up the leaf stamp with several colours of Distress Inks and stamped randomly on the page before embossing with clear embossing powder. I then applied Peacock Feathers and Black Soot Distress inks over the remainder of the cardstock, wiping away any excess from the leaves (the embossing powder creates a resist). I sprinkled some water over the card to create a splodgy effect!

I coloured another piece of card with Distress inks and stamped the sentiment, then edged this and the background with gold embossing powder.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Colours of The Wind - Tree Leaf stamp - Teresa Morgan 1

My second card uses the leaf as the focus..
I used Brushos to create the splodgy background for the leaf, then embossed with gold embossing powder. The bottom layer is coloured with Dylusions spray inks, and I stamped and embossed the sentiment in the corners.

Pauline Butcher has brought our Chandelier Set to life with stunning colour…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Chandelier Set - Stamping inspiration - Pauline Butcher

This is an Anniversary card I made 3 weeks ago, using a fabulous set of stamps from Visible Image, the Chandelier Set

I used a very old technique on this card, I won’t tell you how I did it, as I shall be using it at my next workshop, but it does make your main images pop!

Next we have a gorgeously stylish Christmas card from Susanne Rose…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Susanne Rose

I used the brand new “Rockin’ Around” stamp set from Visible Image for this card. The tree and the sentiment are stamped with Memento Luxe ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. To bring some dimension to my card I added all of my layers with dimensional foam pads.

The tiny trees are cut with a die from Marianne Design. The red background is painted with Neocolor II watercolor crayons. I love this stamp set!!! It’s so modern and very funny!

And now for more gorgeousness from Doreen OBrien…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Take The Moment - Butterfly - Doreen OBrien

I am back  with some inspiration using the gorgeous Visible Image stamps. I have brayered some Acrylic paints onto some tissue then over stamped with Grunge Harlequin.

Using some PVA glue I then attached this to my board before stamping on my sentiment “Take the Moment” and  the “Large Butterfly

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - White Christmas - Snowflake stamp - Doreen OBrien

Next up I have another Christmas card… I inked up the Snowflake from the “White Christmas” set and stamped all over some white card then inked around the edge using the same colour…
I then covered another piece of white card with the distress ink and white embossed the sentiment and edge. This was then attached to the backing using foam pads.

And here are 2 very different but equally fabulous cards from Karen Liddle showing just how versatile our stamps are…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Believe in The Magic of Christmas - Karen Liddle

I inked Distress Ink ‘Evergreen Bough’, through a Memory Box stencil for the panel, and stamped one of the new Christmas Stamps Magic of Christmas

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Inky Horse stamp - Karen Liddle

And for my second card I’ve been playing with Brushos again……. still loving them!

The stamps used for this card is just one set – Revolution

Kim Johnny is loving creating Mail Art at the moment and our stamps are perfect for it…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Inky grungy stamps - Flower - Butterfly - Kim Johnny

Each postcard is just about 4 inches by 6 inches and full of mixed fun!

I used the fabulous Flower INKognito and Butterfly INKognito stamps by Visible Image.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Inky grungy stamps - Postcards - Kim Johnny

We will be sharing Kim’s tutorial here on our blog over the weekend!

Kim Bacon has played with non traditional Christmas colours with awesome results…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Baby It's Cold - Snowflake - Kim Bacon

I deliberately went colour crazy with these! I just love the hot red which contrasts with the icy cold sentiment and the white embossing powder I used.

I started as I nearly always do by colouring some card with Brusho paint powders made into a liquid paint. A little pinch of powder in a spot of water goes a long way! I painted red, orange and yellow using a broad flat brush.

When this was dry I used the snowflake stamp with a dilute bleach solution first. Once dry I over stamped with a hot pink ink just off centre to make the image look 3D. I then added more snowflakes in red all over the card.

I stamped the sentiment onto a dark red piece of the painted card with white embossing powder before matting and layering with white card.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Baby It's Cold - Snowflakes - Kim Bacon

The turquoise and purple card uses white embossing powder instead of bleach.  I then used 2 shades of turquoise for the other snowflakes.  I distressed the edges of the pieces of card by running my scissors down them and used a pin-wheel to give a faux stitched effect. I also used 2 sizes of white brads in the corners.

If you visit my blog often you will know that I am a frequent user of string! I love adding little knots to break up the long lines of string.

Sticking with non traditional colours, here are two more stunning Christmas cards from Lisa Nygards…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Christmas Memories verse - Lisa Nygards 1

Oh, hey, wait…. is that orange? With a touch of turquoise?
Yep! It is, and it is a christmas card!! LOL Why not? Got a crazy feeling of mixing some non traditional christmas colors and I think it become pretty nice! I’ve played with some new and some old Christmas stamps. The orange (cool huh?) card is made with brand new stamps. Snowflake is from the set called White Christmas, and the beautiful verse is called Christmas Memories.

I’ve worked on watercolor paper and just randomly dripped color from mist bottles in orange and turquoise / teal colors. Dryed and dripped again and round up with just mists of water. Continue until you like what you see… not more complicated than that.

I stamped my snowflakes and the verse and then draw a frame (line) around my square of color. Finally I added glitter glue to the snowflakes to have them sparkle.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Christmas Collage stamp - Lisa Nygards 4

For the brownish card I actually used my spray mists as mists! It’s gold and some moss green blended. I dried it with my heat gun and stamped the Christmas Colllage on top. As the paper it’s a bit rough the image will be a bit ”distressed”, just keep that in mind! Finished it up with glitter tape and a button.

And Teresa Morgan shows that traditional ‘silver and white’ give super stunning results too…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Sparkle At Christmas - Teresa Morgan

The sun may be shining but my thoughts are turning to Christmas this week. This superb Sparkle At Christmas stamp set from Visible Image is perfect for a classically elegant card.

I stamped with Versamark ink and used Heat It Up Silver Tinsel embossing powder – I love the glittery bits….so hard to photograph though!

Pauline got funky with stamps and colour for our Mark’s Birthday last week…

I’m sharing a card I made recently for Mark Alexander’s Birthday! He is the designer, creator and maker of the awesome Visible Image Stamps.

I used Man INKognito, the script from Revolution, and the finger print stamp from the brilliant Drag & Drip set.

And using some of the Visible Image sentiment stamps, from various sets, I stamped my own message !!!!

Happy Birthday from the Captain Awesome Set,
Awesome from the Jake Skates Set,
You Rock from the Max Rocks Set,
You’re entirely Bonkers from the Mad Hatter,
and Love You to Bits from the Zombie Brian Set.

White Christmas Memories – Visible Image stamps

Good Evening! We hope you are having a great weekend so far.

We are back with our third dose of gorgeous inspiration here on the blog today 🙂

Over to Doreen OBrien…

Hello…

I have a couple of samples to share today using the new Christmas stamps that have just been released by Visible Image..

This one has been made by inking up my background with Faded Jeans Distress ink while masking off the moon and hills, I then stamped my sentiment  added some frosting to the hills and a splatter of white paint for the snow…finishing off with a couple of tree dies.

2015-08-01 Visible Image stamps - Dreaming of A White Christmas - Doreen OBrien

My next card has a very touching sentiment for those who may have lost someone and you don’t want to send a Happy Christmas card…The words say it all.

Again the background was made by inking up the card with Distress ink and splattering some water to take off some of the ink. I also sprayed the snowflake stamp from the White Christmas set with water and stamped this onto my ink covered card. I have again used the tree die. xxx

Poinsettia Trinket Box created with Visible Image stamps

Good Morning! It’s another very cold and icy morning here in South Wales, hope you stay warm and cosy where you are 🙂

It’s the last Soozie Tuesday post for 2014 today, so over to Sue Joseph for some festive inspiration…

Hi Guys

It’s ‘Soozie Tooseday’ for the last time this year! Hasn’t it been and gone so quickly!

I’m ending the year with the beautiful Poinsettia stamp set £11.99 I love it <3

For my make today I made a little trinket box. Its a little mdf box that I painted in a bronze acrylic paint. Then stamped the Poinsettia flower onto red card and heat embossed in wow red glitter. For the leaves I used metallic green wow embossing powder, fussy cut them all out and layered, glued and added some spirals and yellow gems. I didn’t want the box to be too fussy.

When is a Snowman not a Snowman? @ Visible Image

Good Morning and thanks so much for coming to visit us here on the Visible Image blog 🙂
Over to the awesome Sue Joseph…

Hi Guys 🙂
How y’all doing?
It’s ‘Soozie Tooseday’ once again here at the fantabulous Visible ImageI feel a little bit Christmassy so I made a feminine creation…..
Meet Jack’ie’ 🙂 Snowman Jack’s lady friend 😉
How cute is he/she? …..and at only £6.99!!

I LOVE HIM <3

To begin my creation I sprayed some funky fuchsia dylusion ink onto some watercolour card and when dry I dripped some white linen dylusion ink on randomly to give a snowy effect.

I heat embossed Snowman Jack in bright white wow and coloured in with my promarkers in pink and baby blues to create a girly look (hence Jack’ie’) and fussy cut her out.
Using the Winter tree £6.00, Speckled background £5.00 and birds from the Free your imagination set £12.99 stamp all heat embossed again in wow bright white. I added some  bling (clear flat backed gems) on Jack’ie’ and in the sky and some diamond stickles to the trees and snowy ground, just for some extra sparkle. Jack’ie’ was added with tiny foam stickers to give added dimension. To finish I layered onto white card and blue mirror board

Watercolour Christmas Journal Page with Visible Image stamps

Hello and thanks for visiting! Hope you’re having a good weekend 🙂
Today’s inspiration comes from the awesome Amber…

Good morning!

This week I decided to play with my Visible Image Christmas stamps in my Watercolor Art Journal.  I got my new Peerless Watercolors so I couldn’t wait to play!  I started by masking off the moon with Liquid Frisket.  Once that was dry I got busy painting the background with purples and blues.  I used my white Prang watercolor paint to lighten the bottom of the page.  You can’t see it in the picture, but I mixed the white paint with Perfect Pearls to add shimmer to the “snow”  After the background was dry, I removed the liquid frisket and stamped my Santatree, and sentiment with black pigment ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.  To finish it off I used a white pen to add snowflakes all over the page.

Poinsettia Among The Snowflakes @ Visible Image

It’s Wonderful Wednesday and we are back with our daily Design Team inspiration here on the Visible Image stamps blog!

So today it’s over to the amazing Kim Robertson…

Hi Folks

Well, hasn’t it got coldddddd, my fingers and nose actually are bright red as I am typing this they are soooo cold, Think I may invest in some fingerless gloves this year. It is also, Just for variety Raining again in Welwyn Garden City tonight. Yawn fest….

For today’s card I have used the fabulous Poinsettia stamp from Visible image as the background, and also as the main feature on this card. I kept in with the Autumnal theme but also added some Christmas snowflakes in to the mix too. See what you think ?

I love this combination of colours rustic oranges, and browns with wintery blues with lots of sparkle.

So to start I took a piece of white cardstock and my Poinsettia stamp which I am so lucky to have boy that thing has flown out of stock through Aly Paly and the Nec shows recently wow! well done Helen and Mark who have worked so hard at the shows and making all the gorgeous stamps to sell at them too, I can’t tell you how manic they have been on the build up to NEC week.

I randomly stamped it in Cornflower archival ink then I used potting shed archival and stamped the small leaf from the set randomly too. Next I took Mr Holtz’s Rusty Hinge distress and stamped some leaves first and 2nd generation stamping. Then with some perfect medium I stamped out a few leaves ad embossed them with detail clear embossing powder.

In this photo you can see I have Inked the edges of the card with weathered wood distress ink then covered the entire piece with a sheet of double sided adhesive and then sprinkled some fine glitter jewels all over , burnished it on and dusted off the excess.

Who can resist that sparkle.

Next I took Chipped Sapphire Distress ink and a bit of cut and dry and inked the edges again on top of the glitter, I have shown the technique of inking glitter on several of my shows on C&C and with these really fine glitter they take the colour really well as you can see above.

I wrapped a small piece of white crinkle edge ribbon vertically on the left hand side (face on  on the card) then mounted it onto black, white then again black card to get some nice border interest going.

In my stash I have some little chippie frames, fronts and backs but here I just used a front as I wanted the stamping and the sparkle to show through the frame, I spritzed it to start with a couple of layers, drying in between of Acrylic spray inks. If you want more sparkle you can always use a spray with some Mica in or make one from your perfect pearls or equivalent.

Once dry I took the smallest poinsettia stamp and stamped it tone on tone on the frame to add some texture to it and rubbed a little rusty hinge and Chipped Sapphire around the edges too I also took a white paint marker and shook it up so the colour is loose in the nib, I then shook it at the frame to get a few splats, of course you could always use the Ink splat stamp from Visible image if you didn’t want to spill the paint on the frame as above. I also added a few planned dots to highlight a few curves on the frame too.

Once I completed my frame I used a wet glue to adhere it well to the glittered background. I stamped out my Merry Christmas and a happy new year stamp on white card and cut out just merry Christmas and cut the ends into a little pointy end I also inked the edged again with Chipped sapphire ink, I added it with a bowed centre to the top of the frame which I placed at a jaunty angle earlier.

Here you can see a cose up of the frame and also the sentiment you can also see all the glitter making this piece so very sparkly.

So next I stamped and cut out by hand some leaves with the larger of the two in the Poinsettia set. I also stamped out several of the Poinsettias and cut them out too. Run some ink of your choice round the white edges and some sparkle or gold gilding. You can assemble your Poinsettia any way you like it but traditionally if you roll the petal around a paintbrush longways with the veins around the handle of the paintbrush then offset the petals in diminishing size of Poinsettia petal section you will get an elegant pointy Poinsettia haha.

I added one of those to my frame with a couple of leaves, then tied a bow with some of the matching white crinkle edge ribbon. Now usually I take two lengths of ribbon and tie a bunny ear bow and  make it into a typical  ‘chocolate box bow’ as it were but today i took the ribbon and layered it into a nice bow looking shape then wrapped a piece of the wire the three little flowers I used were attached too to hold it securely. then attached it to the card and added my flowers to the knot area to cover the wire.

I think it looks really pretty with two of the leaves cut in half and added under the flowers , I also used a tiny acrylic orange flower with a pearl in the centre to finish off this arrangement and used one in the centre of the main flower too.

Here again is the finished card.

I love that you can see the background stamping and colours through the ribbon and the glitter so you get lovely different textures throughout the card. It certainly is very tactile this one.

Some different views…

Snowflakes on Sunday @ Visible Image Stamps

Hello! Thank you for coming to see us here on the Visible Image stamps blog today.

Sunday’s inspiration comes from the wonderful Kim Robertson today. Over to Kim…

Hello my lovelies

I thought I’d use my gorgeous Enchanting Snowflakes stamps from Visible Image this week and teamed them
with the classically timeless Christmas & New Year sentiment, keeping it pretty and fairly simple with
mica powders and embossing. I hope you like it…

Visible Image stamps - Enchanting Snowflakes - Merry Christmas & Happy New Year - Kim Robertson

I used two different tonal purples here in cardstock and used ivory embossing powder rather than
white to blend in the the ivory paper. I stamped out the smaller snowflake around the backing edge
of the frame piece of card with Versamark and used an interference colour Mica which looks silver
in certain lights and a bluey/lilac in other, very pretty. I also used the same mica on the edges of the flowers too.

Here is a closer look and you can now see the backing a little better and the lilac on the mica more.
I love purple and ivory or cream , I used those colours for my daughters bedroom and she still loves it.
I have never really been a Christmas red and green colour person but to me this is just gorgeous
in these colours, and the snowflakes are so crisp but still have that vintage feel to them. Gorgeous!

Here is a close up on the first little cluster with the bow and you can see the stem I cut off the little flowers
I twisted around a pokey tool to create a little curly q to add to the flower, and some other little stamens
just to make it a little more interesting.

I snapped this little corner so you can see the mica on the stamps in the backing here. Sooo pretty and sparkly in real life.
The cameras just never seem to pick up sparkle well unless it full on bling.

This was the 2nd little bunch in the top right of the card, you can also see the two colours in the card used on the layers in this one a little better.

Finally here is the longer shot to show the layers etc. I hope you like this one, the font is so clear and sharp to stamp with.
Aren’t the snowflakes pretty , I can also imagine them used with all the gorgeous colours of metal flakes out there now.

Lots and lots of love to all
Hugs

Kim

Stunning Poinsettia Stamp Set by Visible Image

Hello and thank you so much for coming to visit us today here on the Visible Image Stamps blog.

We flew home from Majorca in the early hours of this morning, we had a wonderful week in the sunshine and beautiful surroundings. Excited to be home though, as today we release our NEW Poinsettia Set!

Design Team member  Hazel Eaton asked Mark to design this set, as she was longing for a tattered poinsettia with a script that she could create beautiful things with…

So of course we agreed as it was a brilliant idea!

Hazel of course had to be the first to get her hands on it and we think you will agree that she has created some absolutely stunning inspiration…
