Inspiring Words Stamps for 2019

Hello and Happy New Year to You! We are excited to be back after a good break and today kicks off another year of amazing inspiration from our wonderful team. Jane is here with some inspiring words stamps on a gorgeous wall hanging…



Good morning it’s time to get back to “normal” after all the excitement and celebrations of Christmas and the new year. The Visible Image team have all been on a break but today I’m delighted to be kicking off with the first Design team inspiration post of 2019.

I do love the new year…. I never make resolutions but I do think it’s a good time to take stock of our views and hopes in life. I love the inspiring words that Helen writes which Mark turns into amazing stamps which I can incorporate into my crafting.

I decided to use the words from Voices in your Head to create an inspirational wall hanging for the year.




I made some backgrounds with my small Gelli plate (lucky me got an 8″ by 10″ one from Santa so watch out for more larger projects using this).




I used some DecoArt media acrylics and stamps from the Visometry set












and also the Two Tone stencil to pull some prints










I made a whole batch of prints


and selected 3 to make into ATCs.




I gold embossed the words and added some more patterns with gold ink using universal. Sorry the photos are a little dark, there is so little daylight this time of the year when I am crafting inside.




For the wall hanging I used some corrugated card on mount board. I exposed some of the core and added paints and crackle paint. Once dry I rubbed on some Treasure gold. I attached some string using my mini stapler.



I also stamped the year using the numbers from Alphabetical onto scraps of gelli prints and mounted them on card.



So here is my finished wall hanging..

Inspired by Stephen King’s IT

I’m here to share a project I’ve made using some awesome Visible Image products. You may have seen that it was Mark Alexander’s 50th Birthday last week.. this is the canvas/plaque/card I made for him.
 


Plaque - 50th Birthday - IT inspired



Mark’s favourite film is Stephen King’s ‘IT’, and it was the inspiration for his Destination Unknown stamp set which includes the paper boats stamps:

So I had to use it!! I also used the fabulous Alphabetical set for the numbers and Mark:

and I also used the Fibres stencil:

The background is a canvas, which I primed with some white gesso, then using my brayer. and some acrylic paints, I randomly added some colour to the canvas, when it was dry I placed the stencil over the top, and added some translucent paste through it with a palette knife, again leave to dry. I then highlighted some of the stencil marks with a white pen, and other parts with some florescent green paint, I added some micro beads here and there.
 


 
 


On a separate piece of card, I stamped the boats, each size 3 times, I also stamped the sentiments, numbers and name too, using Versafine Black ink. I fussy cut everything, decoupaging the boats, gluing them all to the canvas where I wanted them to sit, with some 3D glue gel. When it was all dry, I put some extra thick white paste under each boat, and in other random places, and sprinkled glitter on it whilst it was still wet. I then mounted it onto some black and white mount board. To finish it, I cut out a balloon shape, coloured it red, added some glossy accents, and put some highlights on it. And of course I had to add the trade-mark Clown’s sinister nose & smile to it too !!!!

The Future Is In Your Hands

Hello! We hope you’re having a great Friday and have some nice plans for the weekend! Pauline Butcher is here with some incredible inspiration for you today, featuring the awesome handprint stamps from our ‘In Your Hands’ stamp set…

Hello there, 

It’s Fabulous Friday and I hope you are all well.


You may know, that the owners of Visible Image (Helen and Mark), had their 3rd wedding Anniversary this week, this is the card I made for them, using some of their awesome stamps and stencils.

I started the background using some Distress Ink re-inkers, Mustard Seed, Salty Ocean, and Picked Raspberry, putting a couple of drops onto my mat, one colour at a time, spritzing with a little water, then gently dipping the white card into it, until I had achieved the colours I wanted. I then stamped randomly with the Script stamp, using some Blue Versamark Clair ink, on top of this I placed the Collision Stencil, and randomly blended through it with a light layer of Salty Ocean Distress ink, then some Mustard Seed in other places.
 


  


Using just the Stars of the ‘Stars and Stripes’ Stencil, with a palette knife, I added some translucent embossing paste, adding stars to the whole of the background, when it was dry, I dabbed some silver holographic gilding flake, so it stuck in places.

On a separate piece of white card, I stamped the hands, one using a combination of Summertime and Charming Pink, and on the other a combination of Warm Breeze and Paradise ( all Versafine Clair Inks ) and fussy cut them, gluing them to some black card, and fussy cutting again. I stamped the sentiment with Black ink, and again fussy cut. I stamped the ‘Happy anniversary’ sentiment, using the incredibly useful ‘Alphabetical stamp set’.

To finish off, I adhered all the elements to the background using 3D glue gel, and added some eyelashes with a pen to the pink hand, and Glossy Accents to both eyes.

Happy Birthday Helen!

Hello! Wow isn’t it hot here in the UK at the moment! We really aren’t used to weather like this! I hope you are managing to stay cool somehow. We have loads of fabulous Design Team projects to share with you and we kick off the week with a really gorgeous card, made for me (Helen), by the very lovely Jane Tyrrell featuring our stunning hummingbird stamp…


Happy Monday all…. phew what amazing weather we enjoyed over the weekend, it is like being abroad. The temperatures are set to get even higher this week too! I enjoyed some crafting and gardening time… keeping in the shade after lunch as it got so hot.

Today I can finally share a Birthday card I made for someone very special…. no guesses as to who it is….




Yes none other than the lovely Mrs Visible Image aka Helen. Helen celebrated her special day last week. I made an alcohol ink background using lots of pinks and purples on Yupo paper.


I then stamped the fab Hummingbird stamp from the Life is Beautiful stamp set

and also ‘Happy Birthday’ from the Go to Words stamp set

I cut out the letters and words and added thin satin ribbons. I then added them to my card with foam tape for dimension.

Kiss Kiss

Hi there! We have more fantastic inspiration for you here on the blog today from Corrie Herriman…


Hello everyone,

Today I have a postcard to share…



On a pink, yellow and orange gelliprinted background, I stamped the lips and heat embossed them with pink powder. I then used a black and white pen to colour the inside of the mouth and the teeth.


The X’s and lips are from the Dare to be Different set:



The sentiment, which consists of three kisses, was created with the new Alphabetical set:

Wrapped Up!

Hello! We are kicking of another week of awesome inspiration here on the blog with a great project from Jane Tyrrell…

I really like making my own gift wrap, as I can make matching gift tags too..  it makes gifts so much more personal.

Visible Image stamps are perfect to use for this!

I always use ordinary cheap brown paper which I buy by the roll. I measured out a piece to fit and used the star and swirl from the Universal set of stamps.



I used Distress Oxides as my inks, I found this is an improvement on ordinary Distress inks as they don’t soak through the paper.



and stamped a pattern across the paper.



I love how well these stamp with the D’ Oxides. It gives an almost pastel appearance to the paper.



I then used a piece of inky/infusions mop up card to cut a tag, added some stencilling to it and then added Edie’s name using the Alphabetical set.


I also used the square shape as this gives a great border to the letters.


I used red embossing powder.



and I used all capital letters and made these little plaques to stick on.




and here is the parcel all tied up with a pretty ribbon bow.

I hope I might have inspired you to make your own gift wrap? Recipient’s absolutely love how personal it is. I make some of my own Christmas gift wrap too, if time allows.
