Forest Stamp Set | Birthday Card
Hello! Thank you for visiting our blog today! Lorraine is here with a tutorial for an amazing Winter Birthday card, created with our INTO THE WOODS forest stamp set and BIRTHDAY WISHES sentiment.
My cards for my Visible Image DT inspiration this week feature the ‘Into The Woods’ stamp set. This is a great set of silhouettes that can be used individually or layered up, as I have done.

Tutorial
For my background, I picked Villainous Potion, Seedless Preserves and Weathered Wood. I started ink-blending Weathered Wood but my pad needs re-inking and it was taking too long, so I smeared the pad across the bottom of each panel. I figured it could be a distant hillside!
I spritzed them with a little water and added some bigger splats, then left to dry.
When I have a large stamp like these, I like to use my MISTI stamp positioner so that I can do multiple stamps and get a good impression. I used Versafine Clair Morning Mist, a grey ink, for the distant trees.
For the foreground trees, I used Versafine Clair Nocturn.
Lastly, I stamped the single tree, then added Wow! Superfine Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. Since the preceding layers were not quite dry, some of the powder stuck to those areas too, which was OK.
To finish the stamping, I stamped the owls in black and clear heat embossed them and then gold heat embossed the sentiment.
I felt that the panels needed a little more so I used one of the golds from the Kuretake Starry Colors collection and spattered some ‘stars’ onto each panel. Each panel was mounted on a black layer then onto a square card base.
