Vintage Santa | Stamps + Dies

So I thought I’d use one of the new dies for my DT post today.
You get two dies to match the Santa image stamps in the Vintage Santa set – beats fussy cutting round that beard 😉
Tutorial
I stamped my images in Ink On 3 FadeOut ink. To be honest, I wasn’t sure how it would work with this design, but I had to give it a go, and I think it looks great!
I used Distress Inks to watercolour the image – Lost Shadow for the beard, Weathered Wood for the hat trim and pompom, and Lumberjack Plaid for the hat, then cut him out with the die.
Then I started on the background with Distress Oxides.
Added some Distress Mica Spray – the Empty Tombstone was unopened, and despite giving it several (a couple) minutes vigorous shaking, it blobbed out. but I’m fine with it, it’s grunge.
It dried to a lovely sheen.
Before stamping the sentiment I rubbed the panel with Distress Glaze to seal the oxides.
I love how the mica catches the light!
I added a few snowflakes with a white Posca pen to finish off the card.
These new dies make crafting so much easier!
