Seahorse Stamp | Create Your Calm
Hello! Thanks for visiting our blog today! Ali is here with a gorgeous grungy card featuring our awesome seahorse stamp and create calm sentiment today…
I have used the fabulous seahorse stamp from the CREATE YOUR CALM set and the new GRUNGE TONES background stamps on this card. Ink swooshing and colouring in = a very happy and mindful afternoon ?
Create an inky background using Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide and Distress ink and spritzed water.Tim Holtz has some great videos on YouTube on how to get this effect and it is a lot of fun to do.
Wipe over your card with an anti static bag.
Stamp the open circles in different places over your card using Salty Ocean Distress Oxide and then heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
Stamp the linear dotted stamp around the edges of your card with Black Soot Distress ink, keeping keeping the alignment as you go around the card.
Stamp the seahorse using versamark ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder.
Faux bleach the embossed circles using a paint brush to add water to the circle, leave for a few seconds and pick up the water with a paper towel.
Stamp the ‘Create Your Own Calm’ sentiment using Picked Raspberry and Carved Pumpkin Distress oxides with pink ink at the top and the orange ink at the bottom of the words. Heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
Stamp a second seahorse onto white card using black versafine ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
Colour with yellow and pink watercolour pens, I used Zig clean color pens, blend the colours with a damp paintbrush.
Colour a little outside the edges of the image and then cut it out.
Apply Chipped Sapphire Distress ink around the edges of your card using a blending tool, and then again with Black Soot Distress ink.
Then tear around the edges of your card, tear towards you so that the white core is exposed.
Draw a shadow line around the outside of your white sea horse with a grey alcohol marker
Colour the faux bleached circles with red and yellow watercolour pens and when dry, add a crescent shape to each one with a Sakura clear star or glitter gel pen.
Mount your inked card to a black card matt sized 5 1/4″ x 7″ and then onto an A5 white card blank using pva or double sided tape.
Fix your coloured seahorse over the white one using 3d glue gel or foam pads.
Apply glossy accents to the seahorse’s eye, the coloured bubbles on your background and the bubbles on the sentiments.
When the accents are completely dry, colour the sentiment bubbles with a green alcohol pen and attach them to the bottom of your card using 3d glue gel or foam pads.
Your finished card will look a bit like this ?
