Eye Contact Stencil | Vibrant Handmade Card

Hi there! We hope you are having a good week so far. Today’s inspiration comes from Ali Carubia who’s teamed up two of our awesome stencils: Eye Contact and Strobes to create a vibrant eye catching card…

Happy Tuesday

I’m sharing this card today using Visible Image’s amazing Eye Contact and Strobes stencils. I’ve used my Spectrum Noir Harmony inks to colour these.

Tutorial

Firstly spray the back of the 2 stencils with stencil adhesive and leave for a couple of minutes.

Stick the Eye Contact stencil on a piece of 6″ x 6″ white card and lightly ink over with the jet black ink.
Remove the stencil and heat dry the ink.

Position the Strobes stencil so that the centre is over the pupil and then colour each of the rays with the Harmony inks.

Remove the stencil and taking a couple of pieces of scrap card to use as masks, extend each of the rays to the centre of the eye and outwards to the edge of the card.

Use the Bleed Proof White (or white acrylic paint) to paint over the white of the eye with a paint brush.

Reposition the Eye Contact stencil over your card, lining up over the inked up eye and tape down with masking tape.

Apply black structure paste over the stencil using a spatula.

Carefully peel back the masking tape and lift off the stencil.

Put the stencil to water and leave your card to dry.

Stamp the TIME and ‘to be happy again’ sentiments with black versafine ink onto white card and heat emboss with clear embossing powder

Cut out the two sentiments and matt onto black card with a border of about 1/8″ .
When the structure paste has dried, use a black fine liner pen to outline each of the rays and the eyelids.

Use a grey alcohol pen to colour the inner and outer corners of the eye.

Matt your card onto black card leaving approx. 1/16″ border and then onto white card with a 3/16″ border and then onto a black 7″x7″ card blank.

Finally, stick the sentiments onto your card using foam tape or 3D glue gel.
