True Colours | Daisy Stencil

Hello and Happy Friday to you! Sharon Traynor is here to brighten the day with a gorgeous card created with our NEW ‘Daisy Daisy’ stencil and some beautiful rainbow colours…

Hi! Today I have a super-duper, ultra-fast make for you, using one of the brand new Visible Image stencils and a sentiment stamp.

I love my rainbow colours, so it was a no-brainer to make a rainbow daisy card. Now because this beautiful stencil is completely borderless (which is brilliant for use with a gel plate), I was living dangerously when I made this card. Sensible people would use a low tack spray adhesive on the back of the stencil, but I do not own any spray adhesive, so I had to hold the stencil down with some low tack tape.

I just picked a rainbow of distress ink colours and blended them through the stencil, starting at one side and moving the tape over so that I could finish adding the colours to the other side. As you can see, I wasn’t too particular about making this a smooth blend because I knew that the eye would be brought forward to focus on the daisy image as soon as the white pen came into play. Trim the panel to size for the card blank.

Once the rainbow colours were down, the stencil was removed and a white posca pen was used to add some detail onto the daisy. Simply draw some lines at the top and bottom of each petal using a flicking motion. Next dot around the edge of the panel with the same white pen for some more interest.

To finish the card, white heat emboss a sentiment onto a piece of vellum and wrap that around the coloured panel. Add some glittery Nuvo Drops to the centre of the daisy for that bit of bling shine, and once that is dried, attach everything to a white card blank with fun foam.

It’s simple, colourful and will bring a smile to whoever receives it!
