Hip Hop | Dance Card

Hi There! We have stempelfrida here on the blog this evening with a fantastic card featuring our Hip Hop dance stamps with some vibrant watercolour effects…

Hello and welcome to my first Visible Image post for the new year!

Already for quite some time I had an idea in my head with the stamps regarding music and dancing of Visible Image, which I finally realized with this card.

I first chose the colours for my background. To see them side by side, I took my watercolour overview and then picked out “nice colours”. I wanted to have a wonderful atmosphere for the dancer. I had gotten some really nice new colours for Christmas from my wish list. To be able to compare them next to each other, I took my Copic pencils and picked out matching shades. With these I played a little bit until I found my desired combination. On the photo above you can see the result with the watercolours.

On it I stamped the pulse line with matching Archival Inks and a stamping aid bit by bit. I started on the left and then stamped one colour after the other until I was satisfied with the impression. You can see the result below.

And – you know it – if you are so satisfied with your interim result, you don’t want to mess it up in the end. So the motto was still: Use the stamping aid! I then stamped first the dancing person and then one after the other the two texts.

I rounded two of the edges, so that there was a nice “move” for my card. At first I tended to stamp the arrows that are also included in one of the stamp sets next to it, but then I decided against it, because I didn’t want to guide the figure in its dance. She should feel completely free in how she wanted to dance.
