Steer Yourself | Car Stamp | Visible Image
Hi there! Heather Mitchell is here on the blog this morning with an awesome card featuring the car stamp and brilliant city skyline from our NEW ‘The Right Direction’ stamp set…
Hello everyone…
I know it’s been a while since I’ve done a Visible Image post and what better way to get back into it than with one of their new Autumnal releases. Now we all know Visible Image are known for being that little bit different from the usual stamp companies, they go that little bit quirkier I feel and aren’t afraid to be a bit ‘out there’. The new Autumnal releases will blow your mind!!
We all have our favourites on the DT, obviously, and I have to say this one, The Right Direction, is one I was drawn to, whether it’s because my Dad had a black Capri when I was growing up, whether it’s the cityscape or I don’t know… but I am loving it!

I began this make by heat embossing the cityscape using Wow’s Metallic Silver Super Fine embossing powder onto watercolour card. Using Distress Spray Stains, I dribbled ink to make the sky, wiggling it around and spritzing with a little water to get a funky background.

The embossing powder, once set, creates a barrier between the cityscape and the sky line so you can pretty much go nuts on the colours and it doesn’t seep into each other.

The cityscape was coloured using Derwent Intense pencils, using a dash of yellow to highlight.

To create a road for the car to sit on, I stamped the stem from the Imperfection is Beauty set and used the Intense pencils again for some colour. The sentiment, steering wheel and little cars around the edge were all heat embossed in black and the ‘Driver’ sentiment was embossed in the same silver as the cityscape.
With the car heat embossed in Wow’s Opaque Primary Cardinal Red and coloured using watercolours, I trimmed it and adhered to the card using foam tape and voila!

And here is the the fabulous new stamp set…
