Open Your Mind | Owl Stamp

Hello! We have stempelfrida here on the blog today with a brilliant card featuring our NEW ‘Night Owl’ stamp teamed up with an inspiring sentiment from our Autumn release…

Today I have a card with the beautiful owl from the autumn release of Visible Image for you. The card is quite wintry by the background, but the temperatures here in Germany are already around 0°C.

Just this morning I saw a very emotional message by a craft friend who said that she was overwhelmed by the many things she felt committed to, but now decided not to catch up, but move forward from now on. I think, this hits all crafters at some point that they are overwhelmed by the things that you think are expected by others. Our hobby should be relaxation and enjoyment. I wish you all that you always have fun crafting.

And if you should fall into a creative hole or you feel overwhelmed by the expectations, I wish you the strength for a new beginning!

I painted the background for my owl with acrylic paints. For the lines at the edges I used a posca pencil and a sacura marker. First I stamped the text with a greyish Distress Oxides colour and embossed it with transparent powder. Then I stamped the text again with Versamark leaving some space to the first impression and embossed it with a dark brown powder. To see it even more clearly, I reinforced some parts with a white marker. I stamped the owl in a brown tone and then coloured it with copics and polychromos. Then I fussy-cut it and attached it to my card with spacer pads.
