Skull Stencil

Hello and Happy weekend to you!! It’s a nice long Bank holiday weekend here in the UK and today the sun is shining! We are continuing with the awesome 50th Birthday cards our wonderful team made for Mark, and up next is Veerle Moreels with another perfect design for him featuring our skull stencil…

So many ideas going through my mind… I needed to make a male card for someone of whom I know loves skulls and turned a certain age that is … well sometimes a bit of a knock on the head for some people.

Visible Image has a great stamp set called Mr. Bone Jangles so I had some stamped and cut out, made a background and then I pulled out the Skull shadow stencil to make a soft card that was supposed to go on the inside…  But then I changed my mind…

So my soft background with the Skull shadow stencil became my front panel ^.^

And all because I did want that special number ’49+1′ incorporated but… I didn’t want to scream it out loud so I was very happy when I found it in that tiny row of numbers  in the Elemental stamp ^.^

A home rusted piece was perfect to get it out there…

Not in the slightest near at the first idea I had in mind but I love how this one turned out. And I love how a tiny element of a stamp can give you whole new ideas.

Another brilliant card Veerle! Great subtle shading on the skull stencil, and we love how you spotted the 50 in that elemental stamp and highlighted it with your rusted circle! You know how much Mark loves skulls… Thank you ♡

You’ll find so many inspiring projects and videos over on Veerle’s blog.
