Somewhere In Time…
Good Evening! We are back with our 3rd dose of awesome inspiration this evening!
We’re really excited to share the very first Design Team project by Heather Mitchell…
I was super inspired when my Visible Image DT kit arrived (and just a little blown away at the awesomeness of the stamps). I got very excited as, even though they’re sold in sets, they are so interchangeable and many of the images and sentiments can be used in different ways… which, as a crafter, is just fabulous!
The ‘Somewhere in Time‘ set really caught my eye. I love the fractured pocket watch… it seemed to represent how I’m feeling at the moment.
Obviously, me being me, I had to start with an inky background and so I reached for some watercolour paper and my Distress Oxide’s
I loved the stormy look I created with the Oxide and spritzed with gold ink to add a little sparkle
I’ve added elements of ‘Fibres‘ and the gorgeous ‘Strobes‘ stencils before stamping the text from ‘Scripted Streets‘ and the cogs from ‘Somewhere in Time’
I placed the ‘Strobe’ stencil so it looks like light is shining onto the main image
Text stamps are a great way to add texture and break up areas of colour
Once the background was complete, I could start adding the main images. Using Wow! Embossing powder, I stamped the background of the watch and added the detailed image over the top once cooled
The detail on Visible Image stamps is just incredible…
even the smallest detail stamps perfectly every time
To break up the text, I’ve used the rain stamp from the ‘Sparkle in the Rain‘ set before adding the sentiment. The title ‘Time’ stamp is from the ‘Somewhere in Time’ set and the sentiment from ‘What Really Matters‘
I hope you like my first post for Visible Image, it’s been quite daunting… and for those of you that like to know what’s been used, here’s a list of the magic ingredients used in this project:
