Hi there, thank you for visiting us today.
Corrie Herriman is here on the blog today with a super project for you…
Today I’ll be sharing a monolith for Visible Image.
I think these are so versatile, you can decorate them any way you want…
I gessoed this freestanding Monolith first and then glued some pieces of book text on it. I then painted it with Acrylic paints. I used yellow, orange, pink and white. Next I stamped the background with a variety of stamps and Archival Inks in the same colours as the background. The black script stamp I did later.
You can still read the book title here…. (something wicked this way comes). Next I stamped the Moth both on the Monolith and on Bristol Card stock. I coloured the one on the card stock with watercolours and then heat embossed it. The body with clear powder, the wings with holographic powder. You can see it in the detail photo below. I also stamped the skeleton on the back of the monolith and used a white pen to highlight him here and there. I then decided it didn’t have enough white so I filled in the circles with white paint and stamped a text stamp over the top.
The moth was adhered on top of some thread for more interest.
I used the following stamp sets :
Scratch the surface
Thank you so much for stopping by today !
