Sparkly Eyes

Hello! We are back with more gorgeous inspiration this evening. Sharon Traynor has a fabulous CAS card for you today.

Close your eyes to the past, open your mind to new beginnings…

What a wonderfully positive and uplifting sentiment that is.

This fab New Beginnings sentiment from Visible Image stamps was one of the ones that I couldn’t wait to use as soon as it came through my craft room door, and I knew it would be a perfect match for the closed eyes in their Face It! set too. Face It! is a set that I have had for a little while now, and I have been itching to ‘bling’ it like all those amazing glittery eye shadows that you see, but I had to wait until this sentiment arrived.

This is a fairly quick to make card because you are only spritzing with distress marker pens, stamping and adding glitter. The time consuming piece is waiting for the glitter to dry, but you can get on with other crafty projects while that happens 😉

Distress marker spritzing is one of my favourite techniques because it is a clean way to achieve the brusho look without having dyed hands for days. Maybe that’s just me – I love brushos but I do end up covered in them. Anyway, distress marker spritzing is a technique that I really don’t use enough.

How to make this:

Using distress markers and the distress marker spritzer, spritz a band of colour horizontally along the centre of a piece of card measuring 13.5cmx20cm (5.5″x8″), using first the tumbled glass marker and follow that with the salty ocean marker.

Using black ink, stamp the closed eyes onto the spritzed band. Stamp the first two lines of the sentiment above the eyes, then the last two lines of the sentiment below the eyes. Use a post-it note to mask off the lines that you do not want to stamp, and remove the post-it note before stamping.

Once the ink is dry, draw a line with glue to mark the area where the lower part of the eye lid meets the upper part of the eyelid. Sprinkle picked raspberry distress glitter over the glue and set aside to dry.

Once dry, add glue to the lower lid and sprinkle with tumbled glass distress glitter and set aside to dry again.

TIP: If you are sending something glittery to someone that doesn’t like the way that glitter sheds, you can always use glossy accents to keep the glitter in place.

Mount the panel on an A5 card blank (14.8cmx21.1cm or 5.75″x8.25″) with fun foam.

The finishing touch is to add 3 tiny gems at the side of each eye to represent glittery eye liner.

Stamps Used:

(please click on the picture to be taken direct to the stamp set in the online store):

Other Supplies:

White card, Tim Holtz distress marker spritzer, distress markers (tumbled glass, salty ocean), versafine onyx black ink, post-it note, stamping platform or stamping blocks, glue, distress glitter (picked raspberry, tumbled glass), fun foam, tiny clear gems.

That’s it from me for today.

Thank you for coming to visit and I really hope to see you again soon.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

Mother’s Love

Hello and Happy Monday! We hope your week has started well.

It’s been a really busy day here, now that the snow has melted we can get back to normality! All our deliveries have arrived, so all our stamps are now back in stock!

Jane Tyrrell is kicking off this week’s inspiration with 2 beautiful cards…

Good morning I hope that you survived the weekend with the Beast? Goodness me that was a few days that I hope I don’t have to repeat this year. Our snow melted away yesterday and that cruel, cold East wind has vanished.

Mother’s day is this Sunday (11th March) in the UK and I have tried to made lots of different styles of my handmade cards for selling at Dotty’s Tea house in Carshalton.  I have made clean and simple (CAS) ones, vintage, cute and some of my Visible Image “Face It” cards.

Today is my Monday dose of Visible Image design team inspiration and I am am sharing 2 versions of a card I designed.

This week I decided to use my fab Face it stamp..

with the Face stencil/mask

I also decided that rather than just using the top line ,as I did last week, that I would use the whole Mother definition stamp.

I also chose some words from the Aries, Cancer and Pisces Zodiac sets from the ‘Written in the Stars collection’

I white embossed them on to black card and cut them out.

I made 2 versions of my Mother Face It cards, one with the eyes shut and one with the eyes open.

First up is the eyes open card. I used picked raspberry, wilted violet and fossilized amber distress oxides for both backgrounds. I used Distress Glaze to protect her eyes. I blended the inks and then added a little spritz of water before drying.

I masked off all but the “Mother” part of the definition and stamped in red ink first. I then stamped the rest of the definition in black. I added some definition to her face using the stencil and chose the words “caring” and “gentle”. You could make other versions: different word choices make the card really personal to the recipient.
I coloured the lips and added glossy accents to the lips for some glamour.

and these words.

For the eyes shut version I used exactly the same background process but the thing I love about using inks is that no background, even using the same colours, ever comes out the same. Every single one is unique and one of a kind, just like our own Mums.

Here is a close up of her

her words

and here they are side by side.

I hope the weather is more kind this week to everyone. Thanks so much for stopping by today and for the kind comments you take the time to leave.

Back soon,

Bye for now,
Jane x

These cards are absolutely fabulous Jane! The colours are gorgeous, so cheerful, and your choice of sentiments is perfect ♡♡ ♡

Close Your Eyes

Hello! We hope you are having a great weekend.

Veerle Moreels is here on the blog this evening with this stunning tag made for a feature in Creative Stamping magazine last year…

There is something about closed eyes. They can hide so much. You can choose to close your eyes because you want to hide your feelings, you can close your eyes because you don’t want to be part of something you see or actually close them to gather all your strength to face something your need to. Or you can just close your eyes to give you peace of mind, it can take you out of this world and give you a chance to calm down and relax…

Close your eyes… it gives you the chance to see yourself.

Materials list

300 gsm watercolor paper
Black cardstock
Ink: Versafine – black, Memento-Rich cocoa
Watercolours: Sennelier – Warm sepia , Winsor&Newton – Perylene violet
Ranger Texture paste
Gold metalfoil ( Pébéo-Ranger- IndigoBlu mega flakes…)
Glue for metal foiling (Pébéo – Tombow multi mono liquid glue-IndigoBlu Flitterglu…)
Ranger Cut -‘n-dry foam
Black embossing powder
Heatgun
Bandage (plain bandage –sterile gaze bought at the pharmacist)

Instructions:

  • Cut a tag out of the watercolor paper sized 11cm on 22cm and color it with a light wash of both watercolors. You can let it air dry or heat it with a heatgun to speed up the drying process*
  • When your tag is dry put some antistatic powder down and stamp the face onto the tag using the black Versafine. Quickly cover it with the heat embossing powder and heat set**
  • Lay down some texture paste from the top to the bottom and let it dry. Once it’s dry color the texture paste with a light wash of both water colours. When this layer is dry you can lay down a more concentrated layer of color next to the texture paste to get some more depth.
  • Cut a piece of Cut-‘n-Dry foam and lay down some glue used for metal foiling onto it. Work it into your foam using a palette knife. This is the stamp pad you will use to ‘ink’ up the stars. Ink up your stamp with the glue and stamp it onto your paper as you would when using ink. Don’t hold it to long onto your paper or it will stick and you will tear the paper. Just stamp and lift. When you have structured watercolor paper you could stamp it a second time using a stamping tool. Cover your stamped image with the golden metal foil and burnish before removing it.

Make sure to clean your stamp in between if necessary using some water. When you are done with the stamp clean it off immediately using some water ( cold or hot depending on the glue you used. Wash your cut-‘n-dry foam if you don’t need it any longer.)

  • Put some glue onto a piece of plastic and pick up just a tiny bit with your palette knife. Wipe this over your structure paste to make some parts sticky so you can lay down some golden metal foil here too.
  • Cut a piece of plain bandage and color it with both watercolors. When this is drying stamp your sentiment on some paper . I have added some light touches of colour here too.
  • Using a needle, toothpick,… you can put tiny dots of glue onto your tag to add some little golden accents. I have also splattered some tiny dots of both water colours onto the background.
  • When the bandage is dry adhere it behind your words. Ink up the edges of the tag before gluing it down onto the black base. Only thing left is to adhere the words to finish off the tag.

*TIP: if you work onto watercolour paper and use a lot of water you could see that your paper starts wrinkling or bending. When it’s dry to the touch you can put it in between some papers and lay it under something very heavy to get it straight. In the meanwhile you can stamp words or do some coloring.

**TIP: to get the eyes and nose-mouth spaced out correctly, lay down the printed sheet underneath your stamping block and place the stamps on the right place on your acrylic block.

Stamps Used:

Colour Outside The Lines

Hi there! We have fabulous inspiration from Elisa Ablett here on the blog today…

Hi everyone,

Elisa here again with my latest project for the Visible Image design team, a colourful and vibrant Art Journal spread featuring a background created with a Gel Press monoprinting plate and acrylic paint.

I used the fabulous Fibres stencil with the Gel Press plate to create a textured multi-coloured look. I placed it over my gelli plate and sponged a baby wipe over it to take some of the colour off and it produced this gorgeous patterns in my background.

I then stamped the Face It stamp on the right hand side of my page and added some white highlights using a white paint pen.

Add your title by stamping your Outside the Lines stamp onto scrap paper ( I used a practise piece from my gelli plate adventures) to go with your page.

Cut out your title and mount onto your collaged pieces of paper on the left hand side.

Add some highlights to make your stamps stand out from your background!

Here are the products I used from the Visible Image Store –

That’s it from me today, I hope you have enjoyed seeing how you can incorporate mixed media techniques such as monoprinting with your stamps!! make your stamp stash go further !

Hugs

An Ode to Autumn

Hi there! We hope Monday has been gentle with. you!

We are kicking off another week of fantastic inspiration with an amazing card by Jane Tyrrell…

Now that we have reached December, autumn is fading fast and winter really is just around the corner. Darkness arrives by late afternoon and the temperature is dropping like a stone.

Autumn 2017 really has been quite exceptional here in the south of England. Warmer that normal temperatures and lots of sunshine kept the leaves on the trees and turned them into every fiery shade of gold, red and orange you could imagine. These have really fuelled my crafting muse and I thought I would share an autumnal nature photo as a last ode to autumn.

Today is also my Monday inspiration for Visible Image and I decided to make an autumn sprite to say goodbye to this season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.

I used distress oxide inks and the wonderful Face it! stamp set..

I added masking fluid to keep her eyes white and then built up the inks using the wrinkle free technique.

I then used the Stencil to create her face by blending some more inks.

I removed the masking fluid and coloured her eyes and lips. I added some die cut cobwebs

and leaves which were stamped with script from the Scripted Streets set. I gave some extra crackle too.

I also added details to her face from the Create it set.

The sentiment is from the Imperfection is Beauty set.

Meet my autumn sprite…

she is saying a fond farewell to autumn 2017.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and for the kind comments you take the time to leave me, especially at this very busy time of the year….are you ready?

Back soon.

Bye for now,
Jane x

Sun Queen

Hello! We are back as promised with more fabulous inspiration this afternoon, here on the Visible Image blog!

If you love the sun, and burnt orange tones, then you are in for a real treat from Jane Tyrrell…

It’s my weekly dose of Visible Image stamps inspiration today. The new stencils are back in stock here on the website  and I have been having fun with them.

A few weeks ago I shared my Blue Snow Queen card.. if you missed her check out my post here.

I adore the Face it stamp set and, inspired by the glorious sun that peeped out during my autumnal walk, I made something with the eyes open stamps from the set.

I also decided to go from a cool to a warm colour palette and had the idea to create a Sun Queen as an art journal page.

I worked with 3 of the fab new stencils too:

and

I often use the mask from the Face shape stencil & mask set but this time I decided to draw round it and make a separate cut out face which I could decorate first and then stick to my card to complete. I used masking fluid on her eyes and lips to protect them from the inks.

I used some of my Italian cotton cold pressed artist card and made an inky background using some warm autumnal distress inks

Next I added some sun bursts using the strobes stencil, and then inked the inner parts with stamps from the
Rays of Light set

which work perfectly with this stencil

I then added texture paste through my time tunnel stencil using the first brown swirls as my guide.

Finally I stamped the perfect sentiment, one of the new quotes Your Vivid Colours

So here is my Sun Queen…

With some close ups

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Enjoy the sunshine if you get some, smile at the”Sun Queen” ? if you see her, and delight in the gorgeous colours of autumn.

Back soon.

Bye for now,
Jane x

Creative People Sparkle

Hi there! We have more fabulous inspiration for you this evening! Pauline Butcher has been getting creative with our Face stamps…

Hello,

It’s time for me to share something I’ve created using some fabulous Visible Image Stamps.

On this card the Visible Image stamp sets I’ve used are…

Face it!

the flower and the crackle stamp from Create it!

the words ‘Creative People’ from Outside the Lines

and ‘Sparkle’ from Smile, Sparkle Shine

and I also used the Face Shape mask and stencil to contour the chin

The background was a achieved by blending three colours of Oxide ink randomly,  then spritzed with water.
On top of this I blended the same inks through a small dotty stencil, again randomly.

I then stamped the beautiful face, using Versamark, and heat embossed it using a Black Sparkle embossing powder, whitening the eyes with household bleach on a paintbrush. I stamped the crackle stamp with some pink Oxide ink, down one side of the face, then stamped again using blue Oxide ink, when dry, I added a touch of pink and blue Stickles, to give them sparkle.

The lips were coloured with pink Stickles, and the eye shadow is blue Stickles.

Using a palette knife, I spread some translucent stencil paste, through the dotty stencil, just in the neck area. I removed the stencil, and sprinkled glitter over the wet paste.

I stamped loads of flowers with Versamark, and heat embossed them, some with pink sparkle embossing powder, and some with blue sparkle embossing powder, then fussy cut them all. I shaped them with my fingers, glued a gem in the middle of each, then added them around the face using 3D glue gel.

The words ‘Creative People’ was stamped with Versamark onto pink card, and heat embossed with black sparkle embossing powder, fussy cut, and positioned into the flowers with 3D glue. ‘Sparkle’ was stamped again using Versamark, and heat embossed with Pink Sparkle embossing powder.

Thanks for dropping in today.

Hugs,
Pauline xxxx

If I Could Turn Back Time

Hello! We hope you are  having a great weekend! Dot Leathbridge is here on the blog today with an amazing card…

‘A Splash of Colour’ is the theme for the challenge this month over at the Visible Image Facebook group.

There will be wonderful inspiration showing the different ways to add a splash of colour to your project by the DT throughout the month.

Here is mine…

A little lip colour and some shading on the face were added with my Inktense pencils, then I decided to draw some tears.

The background is from my stash.  The “Face It” stamp set is one that I haven’t played with much, so it seemed like a good idea to play with it.  The best part of this set is how the placement of the parts is all worked out for you and you have a choice of eyes open/eyes closed.

Stamps used are:

Sketched Face

Hi there! We’re back with more gorgeous inspiration this evening.

Veerle Moreels has a stunning tag to share…

Lately this question/discussion pops up among my friends and on my social media: are we artist’s or just people with a hobby.

I see myself as someone with a hobby, not an artist at all. The simple reason for that is: I can’t draw. My parents gave that talent to my brother ^.^ Being able to start from scratch, drawing or painting every single line themselves, writing every word and bring a text that touches my soul… that’s what I call an artist. Educated or self taught doesn’t matter.

I would love to be able to draw. So thankfully there are stamps helping me out, and how happy I was when the ‘Face it’ set from Visible Image came together with the stencil. Maybe I would be able now to “make” a “drawing” of a face?  I had to give it a try…

And I was so happy with the outcome.  It really looks like a drawn face even though I cheated and started out with the stamps and the stencil. They made a perfect base for me and my plain grey pencils.

I will definitely will have another go at this. Anyone want to give it a try?

Always Be Unique

Hi! We are excited to share some brand new inspiration from Pauline Butcher featuring our fabulous ‘Face it’ stamps…

Helloooooo,

Last Sunday I hosted a Workshop in Warwick, we played with some Visible Image MDF Monoliths, and I’ve used one of the techniques, that I introduced to a fabulous group of Crafters.

I stamped and heat embossed the gorgeous face onto some heat resistant acetate, using black embossing powder, fussy cut all the facial features, then added them to the monolith using glue gel. I stamped and heat embossed the tree, leaves and the sentiment, straight onto the Monolith.

The stamps I’ve used on the front of the Monolith are…

Face it!

the tree and leaves from Create it!

and the sentiment from Own it!

and of course the Monolith itself…

MDF Monolith

And the stamp set used on the back of the Monolith is the superb Alphabetical set

a real must have set, to be able to write whatever you want to!

I stamped all the letters I needed onto a separate piece of card, then stamped the squares and circles.

Thanks for visiting.
Hugs, Pauline xxxxx

Dimension Challenge Inspiration

Hello there! Thank you for visiting today.

The theme for the June challenge over in the Visible Image Facebook group is DIMENSION…

foto van Visible Image.

Here’s Veerle Moreels with some beautiful inspiration for this theme…

Does it surprise you that I LOVE this challenge ^.^

So I don’t have to hurt my brain to much to go and create for this challenge. In fact I can already share an “older” project that you might not have seen earlier. That is if you didn’t read last month’s Craft Stamper as it’s been published in it. Some of my Visible Image teamies and I went and had some fun with the Visible Image monoliths…

I loved making this structured base…

And I kicked the roughness back by using soft elements such as the beautiful closed eyes of the ‘Face it ‘ stamps and the fragile words from the ‘Life can be Tough’ sentiment stamp

Destination: Unknown

Hello! Thank you for coming to check out today’s inspiration here on the blog.

Veerle Moreels has combined 3 stamp sets from our February release to create an incredible tag…

I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself… I just had to go and make those beautiful eyes of the Face it stamps black…

And I liked what I saw ^.^   So I wanted some words to match and I went for these from the set Destination Unknown.

Perfect match for me…

So what will you do…stay on the nice side of the line or will you cross and join me on the black side?

I See Bold Colour

Hi there! We are back with another awesome card that Mark demonstrated on Create and Craft TV last week.

This card was originally created for our March show but, as the face stamps sold out so fast, Mark didn’t get to demo it!

After sharing photos of it on social media, he had been inundated with requests to show how he created it..

This card didn’t actually turn out how Mark had planned it, but in fact a mistake turned it into quite
a genius creation! It is certainly very striking!!!

Mark had stamped and embossed the open eyes from our Face it set onto some smooth stamping card, then masked them using pebble drawing gum.

Once the masking fluid was dry, he created a colourful strip across the card by spritzing various colours of Brushos.

Sadly he didn’t take a photo of this part, but after making a mistake with stamping a quote below it, he had to come up with a new plan!

So.. he decided to cut the colourful strip with the eyes out, and then after a lot of thinking(!)
he chopped the card into 2cm wide strips which started to look really funky!

He then played around with diagonal strips of black card to see how it would look if the coloured strips were cut this way…

And so his idea was born!

He proceeded to cut each strip diagonally to 1cm down each strip, repeating top and bottom.

Mark then placed these on a piece of black card.. how cool does that look!

He stuck the black strip down onto a card blank and decided on the perfect quote!

After playing with some foam pads, Mark decided to create a really 3D look by using 2 foam pads to raise
the outer strips, one for the next and then glued the centre panels flat to the card…

Brilliant!

So here is Mark’s finished card…

Sometimes making a mistake can lead to something awesome!!!

Stamps Used:

It’s been great to see quite a few people inspired to try this idea already!

And of course this new text needed some color and the Face it stamps…

Young Mind. Wild Heart. Free Soul

Hi there! We are back with lots more inspiration today here on the blog.

First up is Corrie Herriman with not one but three stunning cards…

Hello everyone,
and welcome to my post where today I am sharing three cards I made with Visible Image Stamps. These are all from the newest release.

All three cards have a gelli printed base. The first and third card are from the same gelli print, the middle one is a different one.

The sentiment here was heat embossed twice with two different colours of embossing powder and you can just see the dark powder peeking out at the edges.

She looks so serene, doesn’t she ?

And this one is really simple. I so loved that background that I didn’t want to cover it up too much…

I have used the following stamp sets:

Thank you so much for stopping by today !
Corrie

Wow these gorgeous cards, loving those backgrounds! The sentiment on the first card looks like velvet!
And yes such a serene face ♡ Thanks Corrie!

Close Your Eyes…

Hi! Thank you for visiting our blog today. We have been catching up with all the Design Team inspiration created over the past few weeks with our NEW stamps. If you have missed any of our posts you will find them HERE!

Jane Tyrrell has a stunning card to share with you! Over to Jane…

Wow did you see Visible Image on the Create and Craft show? How am-az-ing it was!! The Face It stamp set sold out in 26 minutes!! And the Curious Cat set within the first half hour. All but a handful of stamps sold out within that hour. Mark’s demos were fabulous and it was such fun spotting all 5 of my cards on the show together with the other awesome samples my fellow Design Team members had created.

This is my first official Design Team post for Visible Image!

I have already shared one of the 5 sample cards I made, Billy’s Fence, last week. If you missed that post you can see it here. You all saw that my sweet Billy Cat was the inspiration for all my cat cards… you all loved seeing his photos so here’s another one ;0)

At the moment I am having to craft in the kitchen as it’s far too cold in my garden studio. Billy sits next to me at the breakfast bar… here he is keeping check on what I’m doing.

Sooo back to my design team card for today. It is the 2nd sample I made for the Create and Craft TV show.

This amazing set is called Face it!

I also used 2 sets of words from the sentiment set, called Own It! which works perfectly with Face It…and of course just about any other stamp you own. This set will also be perfect for my art journal moments.

I made 2 Face it cards, I’ll share the second one soon.. if you saw the show it’s the very retro rainbow striped card. I decided to make an easel card as it’s been so long since I have made one and they are always fun to do, if a little fiddly. The cards I make that sell in Dotty’s Tearooms need to be flat and not too thick for posting, so this was an great opportunity to do something different.

I had a brain storm with my sketch/ideas book (yes I do keep one as I have flashes of inspiration at all sorts of times… often when I wake up and if I don’t write them down straight away I forget them!) for a few days to consult my “inner muse” ? and decided to use both the eyes open and closed stamps…. my idea was that the face was “closing her eyes” and “making a wish”. I wanted the wish inside to be quite dream like. I’m afraid I took only a couple of WIP photos… I got so carried away creating and my messy play is not conducive to keep stopping and taking photos. This is what I got up to…

I stamped and embossed both eyes open and eyes shut onto my card. I masked off the open eyes and both set of lips.

For the front of the easel I used Distress inks and blended a background. I added a little bit of stencilling.
I then added some Sparkle Medium through a heart stencil for some glittery texture.

I changed my mind re the sentiment, see the photo below. I decided to cut up the words on snippets of cards and then mount them on a snippet of black card.

I coloured the lips and added Glossy Accents for dimension and left them to dry.

For the inside I masked as before and used a mix of Infusions and distress inks and also added some more Sparkle Medium, this time using a star stencil, my idea was that she was making wish…(stars) hmm are you still with me ?

Then I put everything together.

Here is my easel card…which I saw as the show opened on TV…. great fun to see it there.
Below are my photos… it’s really hard to show up how glittery it is in real life but here goes…

Here is the front close up

the inside

The “wish” as seen from the side…

I used these 2 sets of sentiments so that when the easel is stood up and the front slotted into place it reads “Close your eyes make a wish”

and here is a collage

Thanks so much for stopping by today, for your ongoing support of my creative journey, and for the kind comments you take the time to leave me on my blog. I really appreciate them.

Have a lovely week.
Bye for now,
Jane x

This is such a stunning card and a wonderful idea ♡ Thank you Jane! Fabulous to see all the close up photos too showing all that gorgeous shimmer.

Dream

Hi there, we have another incredible card to share with you today, created with our Face it stamps.

Over to Teresa Morgan…

Good Morning

It’s time for another dose of Visible Image inspiration from me. I have been combining the old with the new again this week and have a serene card using the fabulous new Face it! stamps.

I began by spritzing some acrylic sprays on my base card – yellow, red and a slight touch of blue. Once dry I added some larger splats with black, white and green acrylic paint and a fine brush. (Thin the paint with a little water, load the fine brush, then tap the handle to flick spots of paint randomly over the background.)

I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto white card then matted onto black and set aside.

Once completely dry I stamped and embossed the face with black embossing powder, and the Visometry stamps with white embossing powder. I wanted some dimension to the card so embossed some of the smaller shapes onto heat resistant acetate and layered over the larger ones with 3d gel. Some super sparkly Prima gems in the centres finished the card.

Face it… she’s fabulous!

Hi! Thanks for coming to visit our blog. We are having a massive catch up of all the latest Design Team projects,
after neglecting our blog for a few weeks!

There have been so many amazing cards and projects created with our NEW Face it collection,
and Nicky Gilburt is here with a very special canvas she has created with these gorgeous stamps…

Hello and today I am sharing with you my very first ever canvas, created with the Face it and Create It Stamps by Visible Image.

It measures 20 x 20cms and was created in an evening with plenty of stamping, colouring and cutting, and lots of fun!

I simply stamped the features onto the canvas, using a large stamping block behind it, to get a good pressure with my stamp, and coloured from the edge with shades of green distress ink and a blending tool and paintbrush to keep the edges soft.

I added crackles from the fabulous ‘create it’ set, and if you look closely, you’ll see I coloured the eyes in purple,
just to reflect the other-worldliness of the girl. (I also did this on very thin card which I then stuck to the canvas,
so that I could capture the accurate detail of the iris and pupils).

The flowers were simply stamped in Distress ink onto thin card, and then coloured with a waterbrush. I used all three sizes of flower from the Create It set, on some of them, to build up depth a bit more, then finished off the centres with Liquid Pearls.

For the leaves… I simply stamped the flowers in green, and from each flower I snipped out two pairs of leaves and one single, which, by the time they were strategically positioned behind the petals, were unrecognisable as the same thing!
The finishing touch was the butterfly, Visible Image of course, from the ‘Own Kind of Beautiful‘ set from last year.

I am so excited about this project, and even more so that it was featured in the Visible Image Create and Craft TV show
a few weeks ago. I have never seen stamps like this, with which you can construct both human and feline features
(and look out for a mixture of both from my fellow Visible Image design team…!)

Stamps used:

Face it

Create it

Own Kind of Beautiful

Feedback from the release of these sets has been phenomenal, particularly because the crafter can choose the level
of difficulty – she looks as beautiful just stamped onto plain white, or softly coloured paper, as she does all adorned with flowers! So I can’t wait to see lots of interpretations shared in the Visible Image Facebook group.

Happy crafting!
Nicky

Thank you Nicky for this gorgeous project, she looks fabulous surrounded by all those flowers and the pretty butterfly ♡

Creativity is…

Hello! We are back to share another incredibly inspiring project created with some of our awesome NEW stamps!

Over to Teresa Morgan…

The response to this year’s new release of stamps has been amazing!! We are all thrilled at how much you love these new designs, and are enjoying looking at what you are making with them. Today I have a funky card using one of the new sentiments, and the Face It! stamps:

2017-02-26 Visible Image - Face stamps - Face it - creativity quote - Teresa Morgan

I took some card and spritzed some zingy Dylusions spray inks onto it  to add a bright splash of colour.
Once dry I stamped and embossed the eyes onto it. I also stamped and embossed the eyes onto a piece of white card
and carefully cut them out, then glued in place over the coloured piece. (I felt this would give a cleaner result than
masking them off before spraying as the inks are very wet and may have seeped under the mask).

I added a little colour to the iris’s with Distress Ink.

Visible Image Stamps - Creativity, Face It!

I then took some black card and tore a strip out of it, then arranged over my eyes so that they were peeping through the gap.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment, matting the ‘creativity’ onto an offcut of inked card.
The remainder of the words were stamped and embossed directly onto the black card.

Life Can Be Tough

Hello! Yes we are back with even more gorgeous inspiration! If you have missed any of our catch up posts this weekend you will find them HERE!

Over to Veerle Moreels who has a beautiful card and a video tutorial for you…

Today I have a CAS card made with the Face it stamps and another beautiful words stamp.

I have to admit…these words already ended up on a lot of cards, I’m completely in love with it.

Even though it’s a CAS card I did film it, just to show how easy it is to keep the eyes nice and white…

The end result…

Create Yourself

Hi there! We have an incredible project to share with you next, together with step by step photos of how it came together. We’ll pass you over to Nicky Gilburt…

2017-02-26 Visible Image - face stamps - unicorn - believe quote - Nicky Gilburt

Today I am sharing a big piece of work, it took me a few hours to accomplish this,
but I enjoyed every minute, even though it was challenging, and at times I didn’t breathe…!

This 20x20cm on Mixed media card was put together using these sets from Visible Image:

Believe in Unicorns

Face it!

Face shape mask and stencil

So it was quite the creative play!!!

1. I began by making my watery cloudy background on a piece of A3 Mixed Media Cardstock.
I used Nuvo Aqua Flow pens in Indigo Dawn, Azure Blue and Aqua Splash. In turn, and drying
with a heat gun between each colour, I applied strokes of brush colour to my glass mat, spritzed it
with water and pressed my card stock onto it. By drying it I had more control over what went
where and I built up a whole A3 background very quickly.

Then I selected the area on which to work and cut it down to 20 x 20cm size.

2. First stamp was the moon, the clouds and the stars. I heat embossed the moon and stars with
silver pearl, having positioned it so that I could then stamp one of the eyes and brows over it

3. I brushed over the eyelashes with an embossing pen and added some ultra fine clear
sparkling embossing powder over it, for a touch of glitter

4. Then I stamped the unicorn. and used a mask to cover it as I stamped the nose and mouth with
Archival ink. Then I added more clouds with distress ink. Also a few more stars

5. By applying the mask over the face and rubbing a blending tool with a little colour on, outwards,
I gave her some real definition in seconds

6. From the Create It set I added the tree, some falling leaves, and then some cracks, some flowers…
I just played with the piece until I was happy

7. I tweaked the unicorn by adding touches of white pen, just by following the picture
on the front of the stamp set

8. Penultimately – the words. I used white pen to highlight the ‘Believe’ sentiment, but I stamped
and embossed the ‘Create Yourself’ in white, and used lilac distress ink and a tiny paintbrush to create shadow on the page

9. And finally – a bit of bling – sequins, randomly planned and distributed,
glued with strong pva, and one gemstone, right over the splatted ink under the face’s left eye!

Happy crafting!
Nicky

This is incredible Nicky! Thank you so much ♡ You can just gaze at it for ages.. there is so much to discover!
Love the ethereal feel to it… magical! Really shows off how much you need the mask and stencil to play with too.

Thank you for visiting our blog today, we still have lots more inspiration to share with you.

I See Bold Colour

Hi there! Thanks for visiting our blog today. We have so much inspiration coming your way today as we catch up with all the latest Design Team projects created with our awesome NEW stamps!

First up it’s Corrie Herriman…

Hello everyone,

I was really excited to get my DT stamps for Visible Image in the post and couldn’t wait to make something. So I grabbed my watercolours and got started and before I knew it I had two cards made and here they are :

2017-02-26 Visible Image stamps - Face stamps - Bold & Beautiful - Corrie Herriman

I stamped the eyes and the sentiment first and then painted the background with yellow, orange and red watercolours. I then stamped over the top with a script stamp. Lastly I added a doodle line around the card panel.

2017-02-26 Visible Image stamps - I choose to see the world in bold colour - Corrie Herriman

For this one I did the same, first stamp the sentiment then added the watercolours in rainbow order, I added some background stamping with a little flower stamp and similarly coloured inks and added some circles with white paint and a bottle cap and some splatters too. Lastly I drew some faux stitchlines around the panel.

I used the following stamps:

Reveal Your True Colours

Hello! Thank you for coming to check out today’s inspiration!

Pauline Butcher is here today sharing her latest card and WOW is it fabulous…

Hi there!

Another week has passed, does it go quickly or is it just me, lol !!!!

It’s Fabulous Friday, and I’m here again to share a card I’ve made using some of the awesome
new Stamp sets available from ‘Visible Image, they really are fresh and exciting.

So today I’m sharing a card made using.. Face It!

The sentiment is from Own It, the stars are from Born to Perform, and the paw print is from Curious Cats!

2017-02-10 Visible Image - face stamps - reveal your true colours - Pauline Butcher

I created the background using Distress Inks, stamping the ink pad onto my glass mat, one colour at a time,
spritzing with a little water, then gently tapping the card into the mixture, then drying it. I continued doing this with as many colours as I wanted, until I’d achieved a background I was happy with.

After drying it, I stamped the face masking off one eye, using Versamark, then heat embossing with
Wow Black glint embossing powder. Then I stamped one closed eye, lining it up, and also heat embossing it.

I then stamped the other elements, except for the paw print, again using Versamark,
and heat embossing with the Black Glint powder. The paw print was stamped using
Wilted Violet Distress Ink, I also used this ink with a paintbrush for the eye liner, and the lips.

To finish off I used Lilac Stickles for the eyes, and Stardust Stickles on the stars and lips.

I hope all you lovely people who pre-ordered these super new stamps, have got them now or you very soon will!

Please put them to good use and enter the Visible Image ‘Show and Tell’ challenge..
there’s a chance you’ll win a £25 voucher, to spend in the shop! So get you photo’s into the album HERE.

Life Can Be Tough

Hello! We are back with more amazing NEW stamps inspiration here on the blog today!

Elina Strömberg has got her hands on our Face it stamps…

Hi!
Have you seen all the gorgeous new stamps Visible Image has just released? If you have missed some, you can view the entire new collection here!

One of the inspiring new sets is Face It! that is perfect for cardmaking but also for art journaling. I played with the set and the face stencil last weekend, and made this painted journal page:

2017-02-09 Visible Image - face stamps - life can be tough - Elina Stromberg

There are several layers of acrylic paints and crayon colours on the page, and I really enjoyed the creative process. Painting a face has never been so easy! She has a serious face, and I thought the stamped quote was a perfect match to her expression:

Using the face stencil is super simple. The only thing that may require some attention is the positioning of the eyes, nose and mouth. The eye line divides the head in half (measured from the top of the head to the chin), and a common mistake is to place the eyes either too low or too high. My impression was that the stencil is indicating the face shape only until the hair line, so the eye line is above the center of the stencil. Once you have the eyes in place, the printed face image on the stamp set will help you in positioning the mouth/nose.

The below picture from WikiHow may be helpful:

If you’re not creating a complete face (like on a card) there’s usually no need to consider the positioning at all 🙂

Here are pictures of the Visible Image products I used (click on the pictures for more info):

Wishing you a wonderful week!

True Colours

Hi there! Thank you for coming to read today’s post! Teresa is here with some awesome Face it! inspiration…

It’s that time of year again!!! The DT are finally getting their hands on the long awaited
new release stamps from Visible Image, and this week I have been playing with the cool Face It! and Own It! sets.

2017-02-02 Visible Image - Face stamps - Face it - reveal your colours - Teresa Morgan

I wanted to create a funky 80s feel by colour blocking over the features.
I created masks for the eyes and mouth so that they would remain white,
then used a square punch to cut my rectangular stencils.

Visible Image Stamps - Face It!, Own It!

Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick, and Broken China were applied through the masks,
I created then extra detail was added with a ‘halftone’ stencil and black ink.

The words are coloured with Tonic Brush Script pens.
