Summer in Bloom

Rachel’s gorgeous slimline card was created with the large grunge silhouette flower, string and background elements from our WHERE FLOWERS BLOOM stamp set, our GRUNGE TONES background stamps, and one of our beautiful AFFIRMATIONS stamps. [Tutorial] The summer blooms are really starting to pop up everywhere now. I just love doing summery cards and the ‘Where Flowers Bloom’ stamp set is brilliant for your summer crafty makes. To begin with I sprayed a DL piece of white card with ‘Squeezed Lemonade’ and ‘Worn Lipstick’ distress oxide sprays. I then sprinkled water over the surface to create a large droplet effect. Once dried I trimmed the card and stamped some of the elements from the ‘Grunge Tones’ and ‘Where Flowers Bloom’ sets in the background using ‘Worn Lipstick’, ‘Carved Pumpkin’ and ‘Ripe Persimmon’ distress inks. If you haven’t tried stamping with distress inks I find they work really well alongside their oxide companion colours. The large flower and ‘Affirmations’ sentiment was then stamped in Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before heat embossing with Wow Clear Gloss Super Fine embossing powder. I then brushed around the card edges with ‘Worn Lipstick’ distress ink before mounting the card onto black card and a DL white card blank using Cosmic Shimmer Acrylic Glue.
