Signs of Spring
Rachel’s beautiful friendship card was created with our A FRIEND LIKE YOU stamp set, with background stamping and stencilling using our CHAIN REACTION stamp set and BREAK OUT stencil.
[Tutorial] As we head out of the winter blues towards Spring, what a lovely way to cheer up a friend than with a greeting made using the new ‘A Friend Like You’ stamp set from Visible Image. For this make I’ve also used the new stamp set ‘Chain Reaction’ and new stencil ‘Breakout’.
To begin with I sprayed a DL piece of white card with ‘Squeezed Lemonade’ and ‘Twisted Citron’ distress spray stain. Once dried, I blended the same colour of distress inks around the edges of the card. The stencil was then placed over the top of the background and ‘Twisted Citron’ distress ink blended through it. I then inked up the daisy like flower from the ‘A Friend Like You’ stamp set with Versafine Clair ‘Cheerful’ yellow ink and stamped this across the background. I then did the same with the numbers from the ‘Chain Reaction’ stamp set using Versafine Clair ‘Verdant’ green ink.
The main ‘flower’, ‘leaf’ and ‘vase’ image was then stamped in the centre of the card with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. On a separate piece of card I re-stamped these images with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. These were then fussy cut out, coloured with either ‘Picked Raspberry’ or ‘Salvaged Patina’ distress watercolour pencils before being layered onto the card using 3D mounts.
The sentiments were then taken from the ‘A Friend Like You’ stamp set and stamped onto black card using a Versamark embossing pad before being heat embossed using Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. The background was then put onto black card and a DL white card blank before some sparkle was also added to the flower using a Wink of Stella glitter pen.
Finally, the sentiments were added using 3D mounts. A lovely and bright card to say hello to a special friend this spring! Rachel ♡
