Create Positive Things

Michelle’s amazing mixed media card was created with our SHINING STAR and AFFIRMATIONS stamp sets, and our SUPERNOVA and COUNT ME IN stencils. [Tutorial] When I’m using paint with a brayer, I always clean off the excess paint on a spare piece of card stock to use as a background, and that’s what I used for this card. I stamped the ‘Shining Star’ stamp in Versafine Clair ink – Twilight, then heat embossed with Wow clear embossing powder. I fussy cut one edge of the star to leave as an overhang and then die cut out using a grungy layering die. I wanted to add random texture to the background and I could have used my gel press with the ‘Count me in’ stencil, however instead I pressed the back of the stencil into a very thin layer of paint and applied randomly to the background. I then applied a thick white texture paste through the ‘Supernova’ stencil and sprinkled Iced Teal and Polished Silver embossing powder from Wow. I left the paste to dry and then heated the powder with a heat gun. I stamped and embossed the ‘Shining Star’ stamp a second time and fussy cut it out along with a couple of circular elements of the design. I added Craft Artist Shimmer Spray – Jade and Airforce and some ink from Pink Ink – Raspberry Crush to my decoupage elements, card topper and my layer for my card. The sentiment is from the ‘Affirmations’ stamp set and as I wanted my star to radiate positivity. I chose “positive thoughts create positive things”. Michelle ♡
